It really boil down to the Terrain .. any well done DCS aircraft will be fun to fight on for sure but having a sight pleasure and challenge in well made mapS will be a winner. also something that is a must is the weather physic well done.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself here. No one said DCS WWII won't have any more maps. If it's successful, I'm sure it will.

But they do have to start somewhere and Normandy happens to be it.

B-17.

I just think this would gain more interest from those who haven't yet tried DCS and would help get support for additional maps and so on. Of course I would like both but which should be first..? (sort of chicken-and-egg type of question this..)

Flyable B-17 something that would interest SO many, maps will come, and with SDK released maps can come from community. A B-17 to DCS standards cannot

Map.

I agree that planes probably pull in more people, but working with any map will do more to tell Luthier et al:

What is going to be possible with regards to size (you don't have to have big out of the box to know how efficiently resources are being used).

What level of detail can that footprint manage? Does that translate into the sense of place and time Luthier said will set this project apart?

Have sufficient resources survived to maintain the DCS flight dynamic bar?

Yes, you can set the table in the yard and start sending dinner invitations, but I think a house should come first.

More map would be the way to go I think. I'd love a B-17 and I'd pay $100 for it on its own but the next most important step after this project is complete must be another theatre and more "mainstream" Warbirds, B-17 is niche within a niche. Maybe in 4-5 good years down the road B-17 would be commercially viable. Just my thoughts.

It doesn't have to be that far away. An easy solution would be private kickstarting campaigns.

But after some alpha/beta content. If they make a highly detailed map, 3 DCS level fighters... they are set. I'll be dammed if we can't raise 1 million $ for anything they think of afterwards.

True a well made bomber will do some good and call many flight simmers. no doubt :) and yes maps ! SDK.. :)
