UH-IH Huey

OK, I normally fly fixed wing, but in a moment of weakness (Black Friday deal) I purchased the Huey. There seems to be no section in this forum for the Huey? Anyhow, I d/loaded the optional Huey training files, loaded up the start procedures from the pad... however, that only goes as far as starting the generators, fuel feeds and battery etc. but then stops just as I expect it to give guidance on starting the engines/rotors? :helpsmilie:

 

Can anyone give a pointer on where to look for some good Huey tutorials for a complete rotatory newbie... :joystick:

 

I tried choosing the option to begin with the engines/rotors running, however, within about .25 of a second the rotors sheer off just leaving the drive shaft? I obviously have a control set wrong somewhere (Warthog controller + Thrustmaster Pro rudders).

 

Any help appreciated.

Sounds like you have a control conflict check your axis in options and make sure there correct.

Could you gather up and look into the light please?

 

 

 

 

 

You Tube has some good tutorials for the manual startup and clarification on the right seat target cross system usage. Make also sure you have checked the keyconfig on the collective, thottle and autopilot.

As for the Huey start up procedure - Section 9 of the UH-1H Flight Manual. It can be found in the drive where you installed the Huey mod under DCS World/Mods/aircraft/uh-1H/Doc

Once you get generators and front panel switches thrown. Press and hold the Home key until the blades get up to speed.

3. The engine start/stop command changes broke the Cold Start training mission. You can download an updated version here for a manual install into \\mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Missions\EN\Training\Aircraft Operation\1.
