Hi there,

Is there a skin viewer? With skin viewer I mean a program in which you can check out a newly made skin if everything lines up (or not) without starting the DCS game.

In LFS (live for speed) you do have this optionial program and it is BRILLIANT for making a new skin.

Hope someone can help me.

Use the Model Viewer,

Make the Skin Folder/ZIP, and the description.lua to link the texture files to the Material Type.

Then Mount the VFS for Livery and texture folder in the Autoexec.lua in the /Config/ModelViewer/ Folder.

Well you can view the skin in game, and as you make changes it updates without having to restart the game, I have done this a few times while tweaking a skin.

Or even better an in-game skin maker or external program to make it easier. Because when you dealing with camo patches and other things crossing over parts it becomes a bloody nightmare. It took me forever to make my first Huey skin. Completing it felt like coming out of a very bad relationship. :D

That's what the EDM Viewer is For,

Boot the Application, Drop your Textures in the /TempTexture/ Folder

Open your Exported EDM,

Open Photo Shop,

Make a Change to the Texture, Save it Overwriting the Texture file in the /TempTexture/ Folder

Go Back to the EDM Viewer, Click Re-Load Model, It Reloads the EDM with the updated Textures.

Works on All EDM Models for DCS.

Make a ModelViewer.bat file in Notepad

Paste:

/bin/ModelViewer.exe

Save as ModelViewer.bat

and put in main DCS Folder.

Create a Shortcut to it on the desktop (Right click it, Send To, Desktop)
