smokyrain_pilot Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 hi my DCS World has been updated to1.2.6.18651.276 automatically today on Steam. but whenever i choose Trainning, instance mission, or mp, the game crash while splash screen showing with 'DCS Stop working'. i tried to delete DCS folder in user's 'Saved Game' folder but it didn't work. how could i do now ? 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Great thanks. i catch Mi8_protect.dll as the cheif problem via log and rename it to fix the problem now. but that mean i can't play mi-8 in DCS world until the fix patch arrived? karambiatos Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 you know renaming it wont generally fix much, you need to reapply the license by starting the Mi8_protect.exe . found here Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\"aircraft name"\bin. if it continues to crash after that, youll need to reinstall the module. You are in Steam correct? You can try and run a verify files and see if that helps... Also ED is at the mercy of Steam, its possible the update files are not there for the Mi-8? Maybe you will have to wait till the sim is fully updated. Maybe you will have to wait till the sim is fully updated. unfortunately it doesn't work... until now, i got the following result: -DCS World lancher OK -Single Mission, trainning, campaign OK -the connection cannot be made in MP, and 'Connection interrupted' will be shown when loading progress is finished. sometimes Game Crashed. i just want to know how to disable Mi-8 module now, and i had deactivated it ... Updated today from 1.2.5 to latest 1.2.6.18651.276 and saw some improvement (longer run time) but the game still crashes. Game crashing after several minutes of play instead of after 30 seconds or so of play. Ever since I updated to 1.2.6 from DCS_World_1.2.4.11652_168 Today, after many weeks without finding a fix... I finally found the 5 files I needed to install DCS_World_1.2.4.11652_168.. and I will never update again to anything higher if it works after the files finish downloading and after I re-install my old version! Cdr.Instigator Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Well. good news.. I installed DCS_World_1.2.4.11652_168 and FC3_1.2.4.11652_168 and all is well now. Playing it as I once did, even on this still good, 32bit windows system. As long as I can create my own scenarios/missions and fly around doing aerobatics.. I'm perfectly happy and satisfied. Thankfully now that I managed to get this running again, I don't feel as violated with some loss of money that I had payed for this simulation and then to have this company drop all help and patches for us with older yet, good systems like we had VD.. not right! I will surely upgrade my system to a 64bit one, but not just cause ED wants to force us by dropping all help for us who have always supported the development of this Sim, since the days of the original Lock-On and the many versions and add-ons since. I gotta give special thanks to whom ever was the host to the files I needed on a remote server I just happened to find with Google's help.. Since ED doesn't host those files anymore for us who want to back track to an older version of this Sim.. I have the link to those 6 files you need. PM me for the link!
