What’s the deal? I have a 30/10mbit connection. My bandwidth setting in game is set to LAN. Annoying when this happens.... Any suggestions?

I haven't looked into that in the latest version of DCSW, but in previous versions it was important to set the connection speed to LAN (which you did), but also to disallow an option in the config file called something like "allow object_export". Unfortunately I am traveling right now, and don't have access to my DCS install. Maybe someone else can clarify.

I keep looking at that 280 and the 6600 thinking about bottlenecks. The Q6600 meets the minimum requirement and the 8 gigs is the recommended minimum- The 280 has a gig of VRAM which exceeds the minimum...

I had a 250/15 connection and at one point the ISP botched that and I was ACTUALLY getting 25/1. I recommend trying a speed test...

Also, you may have some config conflicts- a lot of these are resolved by renaming your user / saved games / DCS folder and allowing the game to recreate it. You can then move your custom settings from the renamed folder to the new one while leaving the network ones alone.

Other than that- To be honest you're not giving us anything to work with. "I'm getting disconnected and it's annoying" doesn't really help us put a finger on it. You don't even tell us what module you're in when it happens- nor how long it takes to happen.

So my suggestion is going to be that you head over to the bug forum in the pertinent module (probably DCSW) and read about how to submit a proper error report.

I'll give you a heads up: You're going to need the dcs.log at a minimum alongside the related crash / .dmp files (if there are any).

They also like a brief description of what you were doing when it happened and if it's in the first 10 minutes or so a track file often helps. Any longer than that and quite often the data is corrupt anyway.

I get that message, too, but only when a server's mission is reloading again or to a different mission or if the server's host is shutting down.

I agree, I might have been too hasted in posting this thread, played all week and remarkably it was stable. So your reasoning might have been the root cause.

I would agree my CPU is way old school by today standard hype. However It's not because you have hyper threaded or 6 cores or more that will make this game yield out better FPS. You forget that most developers, do not code on the extent of taking advantage above 4 cores. Even then...(most games take advantages of disabling HT to get better FPS)

But I agree that my CPU needs an upgrade, but I need a whole new PC for this lol. I would even, if possible just upgrade the current quad for better Megahertz, I have no need to go above quad CPU right now, but they are no longer available. My only possible would be and I5 since their are cheap, easy to overclock. I7 IMO is too much for the price and is overhyped. Does ED take advantage of Multi threading as it should? Not yet IMO, maybe with EDGE...

The facts are most games know days are ports, so what we have as consoles today, suffice to say, my old putter still have some fight in it.

As for my GPU, hell of long run I had with it and it still has some kicks left in it. Have no issues with BF3 /BF4, Skyrim, Crysis 3 or any other games for that matter. True I might not be able to take advantages of all the nuts and glory of DX11.1, but heck, it's still beautiful the way it is in my eyes...

As for speedtest, I did my homework. Trust me I have 30/10. I actually told my ISP to lower my bandwith since my router could not handle the load and well lets be honest, it's not really the download that counts, but your upload if you want to host. In the end well I struck a deal for unlimited bandwidth, yes, I, as much Canadian have too, have to pay more for "unlimited" no cap.

And please, this was not a bug report, it was an observation and requested suggestions, that is all.

Thread closed since DieHard already confirmed my hypothesis.

Have a nice flight all.

EDIT I do have to point out that while on MP, after a while an hour or so, killing birds, landing, taking off again, redo, re land. Then at some point it starts to lag abnormally to a point that I’m wondering if it still has memory leak issues...

CAN NOT PLAY AT ALL!!

MONEY WELL SPENT?

Don't talk nonsense of course you can play.

Multi-play is a process that may begin extremely hard for you but become progressively easy thanks to ED. First the hard bit, find a friend to play with, then you and your friend set 'Network speed' in Multiplayer options to 'LAN' (crucial setting at present) and then create your own server. Now ask said friend to join your server.

If all goes to plan like it does with 99% of ED online customers then you have achieved multi-play for a good few hours, hours that would be deemed by any sane person as fun.

Of course if you try and create a server with more than the 16 players ED currently recommend or your server cannot accommodate the amount of players you allow then the server may hit connection issues after a couple hours. That being said anyone with an average broadband connection can host 1-4 players maybe more.
