ED Team Groove Posted January 26, 2006 ED Team Posted January 26, 2006 This book is very interesting. I would recommend everyone in here to read it. Here are one part of it : All told, Dirt and I, the Canadian CF-18s, F-15Es, and British Harriers destroyed five artillery pieces, an APC, five Frog 7 launchers, and an ammo-storage trailer. Not bad for a day’s work. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

Dice Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 ROFL, I guess that's why the AF is spending muli-million dollars on upgrades (Precision Engagement) and airframe repaires (SLEP1) to extend the life of the A-10 out to 2028...because it can no longer do the job of CAS/CSAR....ROFL!! Ugly but well hung!
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 It was much easier to hit soft, undefended targets from high altitudes and “collaterally damage” soldiers wife’s, mothers, and children. Every time this conflict is mentioned you seem to steam in feet first with this kind of stuff. Hey enough already! We're sick of hearing it, move on. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
504 Wolverine Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Agreed. Please STFU. Bit hipocritical there rugg. On one hand you tell Veljko to STFU yet on Stormin you say That's just par for the course w/Stormin'. Most of us just ignore him when he gets like that Well as you sat on your sofa drinking soda with you g/f Veljiko's country and probably his town was being bombed by your countries air force for trying to stop the KLA's campaign of terror. Granted a lot of innocent muslims were slaughtered there by the likes of milosivich but there were a lot of innocent serbs slaughtered by the KLA and with the current US stance on musilm terrorists do you really think that NATO would have sided with the KLA after 9/11? Telling Veljko to STFU on this would be like someone saying to a family member of a victim of 9/11 to "STFU we've heard enough, we are sick of hearing it. MOVE ON". You have to recgonise that there is victims on both sides in conflicts like this. So in response I would say "That's just par for the course w/Veljko'. Most of us just ignore him when he gets like that" There are victims on both sides with raw nerves on certain subject so its best if EVERYONE stopped and thought of other peoples experiences and feelings before they post. 1 [/url]
GGTharos Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 How about y'all STFU and get back on topic? :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
504 Wolverine Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 How about y'all STFU and get back on topic? :P Here, here. Exactly mate. [/url]
Pilotasso Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Another question: why were Apaches sent there if they were never used? Did they expect to remove SAM's and then they realized it couldnt be donne? .
GGTharos Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Among other things, they failed to properly integrate with the rest of the forces, and, once more, they had no CAS to do. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
504 Wolverine Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 You obviously didn't get the subtleness of my disdain for Stormin'. I'll try to be obvious next time. ;) Yes please do. I left my ESP in my other suit. :p But then again it was politicians from my country and politicians from his country taking a huge dump on the people, as usual. As everywhere else mate. :( And since when should I feel guilty that I'm safe in my country? And you should not either, that is not what I was getting at. What I am trying to say is that something that does not affect your life can greatly affect someone else’s life. That's why we should show a bit more understanding to Veljiko as he should towards other people. I have never murdered anyone, Then whys there an arm sticking out from below you porch :p From where I sit I deserve to sit on my couch and live my life free. And so you should. I am not questioning this And for that I will make no apologies to anyone, especially someone on the other end of this internet connection. And neither you should. Now group hug and get back on topic now mister!! :p [/url]

4c Hajduk Veljko Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 What is this, a test? Read the book yourself. No it was not a test and yes I read the book. I read the book on my Pocket PC in the plane flying to and from South Africa (22 hours in the airplane from Johannesburg to Atlanta, Gerogia). More than 2, less than 10 IIRC. At least in the book. This is the point where you an I fully agree. And you're incorrect about the A10's not being able to fly low. It wasn't because they couldn't, it was because the politicians had all kinds of ignorant ROE's for the pilots to follow. ROE’s are created for a reason. And one of the reason was that in today’s world, even low tech country has enough technology to seriously threaten A-10 flying low. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Every time this conflict is mentioned you seem to steam in feet first with this kind of stuff. Hey enough already! We're sick of hearing it, move on.I will not respond to your personal attack. I will say that A-10’s over Kosovo did not have more then half a dozens confirmed kills. And the book in question very well support that claim. By the way, British unguided bombs had only 2% of confirmed hits. Out of 100 iron bombs dropped by British airplanes in Kosovo, only two hit their target. And, on the end, let me just say that I do have Military Channel (former Discovery Wings). Guess what? There are no shows about Kosovo, not at all? There is a reason for that. Actually, there was a show about Apaches being sent to Albania. Nothing about A-10’s over Kosovo, nothing at all. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Agreed. Please STFU. I will not respond to your personal attacks. I will just ask you to put the facts forward. And the fact is that more people were killed (per capita) in Washington DC then in Kosovo BEFORE NATO unlawful attack on Yugoslavia. One may say that there was more civil war in Washington DC then in Kosovo.
