CSAR tactics

I have something what might interest you AMVI_Surgeon, but I have to find someone with a scanner first. I have totally explained CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) tactics. Its a translation and study (unfortunately I have this only in my language) from Joint Pub 3-50.21: Joint Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for CSAR, and from ATP-62/AJP 3.3.4.6 CSAR (some NATO doc. I don't even understand, just coping what in the title ;) . Though the images from that you might find quite usefull I think (CSAR, RESCORT, RESCAP, strike planes working with helis and fighters - lots of tactics, everything pictured in typical isometric view, with lots of text, though in Polish like I said :( ). so if you are interested about getting scans of these please PM me after next weekend (I have exam session right know and quite busy to go to someone and take his scanner :| )

edit: there's no need, it's actually already available in PDF format! (i have it on paper, got it when I used to serve in PAF. cleaned it from my cmdr desk ;) : http://czasopismasp.mil.pl/przeglad/w_numerze/archiwum/07_2004/24-39.pdf

it's not much, but surely you can simulate that in lomac if you wish. if you need translation with something, PM

I would go to the extensive appendix and search google for some of the manuals. I'm sure you'll get luck on some of them.

FOUO - "For Official Use Only" handling procedure. Actually ALL official manuals have this status. Even if you are able to bye them at eflightmanuals.com or to download elsewhere else.

NOFORN - "NOt for release to FOReign Nationals".

Note that the classification status of the manual is U. That stands for "Unclassified".

Hi Olgerd, I know this only because I was in the military. FOUO and NOFORN are considered sensitive but unclassified. Also, if you look further down on the webpage you posted above, it says "Special Handling: FOUO/NOFORN"

Not all official manuals are FOUO/NOFORN. If there is a special handling requirement, it will say so at the top of the document.

EDIT: AMVI_Surgeons's entusiastic response confused me. It looks like you already knew the documents were FOUO/NORORN. Sorry about that.

so does that mean that you can only get hold of that manual if you are an american citizen, be it military or civilian? Although you shouldn't because it's for official use only?

edit: Shouldn't the luftwaffe have something similar?

lunanera,

You can only get hold of the manual if you have a need for the information. American civilians may have access if there is an established need and he/she is authorized ("Authorized" being the key word).

Because the manual is NOFORN, no military or civilian foriegn national may have access to it.

AMVI_Surgeon,

Just FYI. Now that we know the document is FOUO/NOFORN, it may be unlawful to try to procure it. For further guidance or questions you should consult the USAF Office of Public Affairs.
