sjb5001 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 To anyone who likes sandboxes, I've always found this program incredibly fascinating. It really puts the scale of the universe into perspective and the procedurally generated planets are deeply detailed. And to anyone interested, it's free to use, though I do recommend giving a donation because the guy who created it did a phenomenal job! http://en.spaceengine.org 1 Intel i5-4690K 3.5GHz 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3, 1600MHz NVidia GeForce GTX 760 Windows 8 Pro Operating System - 64-Bit Saitek X52 Pro Joystick and Throttle

cichlidfan Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 No cockpit view? The 'ships' are still in alpha, from what I read. That's what KSP would be for. :P ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! RagnarDa Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Nice! Beautiful gas clouds! Is that a first in space-sims? Makes me want to pick up Elite once again. Btw, why no love on the forums for the new Elite-game? Surely I'm not the only one spending way too much time back in the day smuggling slaves into federation-controlled systems? Pepec9124 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Just tested, amazing piece of software. Like Celestia with heavy upgrades.
sjb5001 Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Pretty cool. Now if only it could be combined with Kerbal Space Program. :D I know! I wish a developer would buy the code and make a game out it. Can you imagine an economy, exploration, or physics sim on that kind of scale??? :joystick: Intel i5-4690K 3.5GHz 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3, 1600MHz NVidia GeForce GTX 760 Windows 8 Pro Operating System - 64-Bit Saitek X52 Pro Joystick and Throttle
Dr. Yes Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Just downloaded this. Really neat astronomy program with all the procedurally generated worlds. Love being able to travel at 100 MPars / sec. Eat my dust Millennium Falcon. See you at the end of the Universe.
