Astronox Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hi. After i bought DCS Huey and was so fascinated by the game, so i decided to built some pedals for better controls. They are made from parts i had left from other projects. A old USB joysticks electronic board is used to connect it to the PC, and a Allegro A1302 linear Hallsensor gets the angle from the axis. The are designed to be used at normal seat high, thats why they are tilted forward to this laying position. Movement range of the pedals is 13° up/down from center position. Is anyone of you guys building some custom pedals too? And does anyone use a A1302 Hallsensor (mine is perhaps Allegro, perhaps a HongKong clone) for the pedals main axis at any project and has some experience with it? At the second picture, you can see the sensor and the rotating magnet device thats used for the main axis. There are how2s that show a magnet holder where the magnets are placed outside a plastic tube, but i decided to use this inverted design, cause i can use smaller magnets. The pedals mechanics and electronics are allready working, but the center mechanism isn´t finished jet and the centering springs are missing at the picture. cu, Astro

HugePanic Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Servus, if it's only for the helicopters, then why do you have center-springs in it??
Astronox Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Servus, if it's only for the helicopters, then why do you have center-springs in it?? It´s mainly for the huey, but i´ll also use it for the fixed wing planes in DCS. You could remove the springs for the Huey, but when the helicopter is stabilized, then you can get the feets of the pedals for longer flights. Are the orignal ones not mechanical centered? At the Moment, i add additional buttons for brakes and engine startup. After that, i could add a mechnism to release the springs, so i could switch between spring centered ort not. cu, Astro
