Why can't I take control of any of my purchased aircraft anymore?

Don't know why, but I simply cannot take control of any aircraft in DCS apart from the free SU-25, I have already wasted a couple of activations trying to sort this out but no joy.

How did you download and install them?

If the latter, then provide more information, like PC specs (64-bit?), history..

Have you ever been able to fly them until a patch or what happened in between?

His reply was completely justified, you gave us no information other than "this doesn't work". How are we, even if we wanted to supposed to help you with that?

 

I don't know what the issue is, maybe a complete reinstall would help. Remember to deactivate your software before removing it so that you do not waste any activations.

Actually I gave an exact description of what was happening, for some reason I am not able to take control of any of my purchased aircraft, beyond that I have no idea what has happened, how can I give information I do not know?

I simply wanted to see if this is something somebody else has experienced, let's simply assume for a change you are dealing with someone who is pretty familiar with how things should be working, outwardly I see nothing to indicate a problem with my installation, all modules are installed and activated but I simply cannot use them, all I get when I try to start any mission is the F2 view so I can watch the aircraft under AI control.

You should activate the purchased aircraft - I believe this is done bu putting a tick near their names in the module manager. And that will require entering the activation (or is it serial) number. It's been a while since I've done that, but it is all pretty easy.

But they are all already installed and activated like I said, they were activated since I purchased them years ago and I was able to use them no problem but now I can't.

First off I'm assuming this problem is in single player missions you are creating ?

After you make sure you're purchased modules are activated in module manager. You must select only a human controllable AC such as,

A10a, A10c, F15c, Su27, Su33, Mig 29, SU25, Su25T, Huey, Ka50, Mi8,P51,

you get the idea. (module installed dependent).

In the mission editor you must choose the AC you wish to fly as Player in skill level. And also AC start time and mission start time coincide with each other.

No, the problem is persistent regardless of whether it is a single player mission or anything else, it doesn't matter what mission I run I simply cannot take control of the modules I own and are activated, they used to work just fine and now they don't.

Do me a favor and post a screen shot of the purchased modules installed in DCS module manager. Dont worry the serial #'s can be hidden.

I can assure you they do not have the dollar sign, they are all activated, in mopdule manager they all show the green tick.

Well then i can only think of a few scenario's to your problem ATM.

1. Its was all uninstalled and reinstalled incorrectly

2. Your files for your modules somehow are now or became corrupt

3. you manipulated the file structure yourself in DCS and now its borked

4. A mod was installed wrong

5. The modules are not purchased and installed correctly

6. File versions of DCS World and modules do not match. That is they were installed and updated in the wrong order.

And I'm sure there are "quite" a few more reasons but i need some time to think of them.

This happened to me once. (Thankfully I only had the Ka-50 at the time.)

 

I hadn't done anything on Bolt's list—one day it worked, the next day it didn't, with no input from me whatsoever. Only uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.

Did you save a copy of your saved games folder, then delete the original one. fire up DCS and let it generate a new saved games folder ?

OK, for some reason I cant do a print screen of DCS, all I get is my desktop.......more bloody confusion.

 

What exactly is needed from the picture? the module is installed, I have a license key and there is a green tick in the box.

Did you try both of these.

 

And never mind the SS of your Module Manager

 

Also you said you installed a new GPU.

Make sure the install of that was done correctly with up to date drivers.

and make sure of all your option settings are correct.

Deleted saved games, still nothing

 

a complete re install doesn't repair it then not sure what will

 

New GPU was a as routine as every other time I ever did it, and not sure how graphic setting can stop me taking control of the aircraft.

Well bongodriver I'm sorry i couldn't help you. Obviously your prob is beyond my scope and knowledge of DCS.

I hope you get it straightened out.

Good luck with this. I found I was unable to use huey or mi-8 and ended up doing reinstall. If you have kept original installer it's half the battle. First go to module manager and deactivate all modules. Uninstal then registry clean. Reinstall dcsw add modules and try without updating. If all ok run auto update from your root directory and keep fingers crossed.

 

Apologies. More posts have been added since last I looked and it seems you have tried uninstal sorry I cant think of anything either. Other than delete the folder in User/Saved games/DCS
