Mysticpuma Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Hi there all of you that are interested or can help. Basically I am still getting the hang of this and want to fly online with a friend of mine in a non combat scenario. All that I require is that I can start a Multiplayer server, load a mission where we can both spawn at an airbase (would love one near the mountains) and then we can just take-off, fly around an land. A couple of things I am not sure how to do at the moment. When I joined a Server last-night, there was no way to save a track of the mission and also no way to change the skins. So is anyone able to: Create a mission as described above, simple non-combat, just spawn near mountains, take-off, fly around and land. Explain how I can record a track of the mission Explain how if I host the Mission/Server, I/we can change the skins on the aircraft? Tonight I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it....except our aircraft had German markings and I couldn't save a track of the event :( Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really am still learning and would like to have this mission to get me much more confident in the air. BTW. I did try and host a server tonight as a test, but when it asked me to load a mission, I had non available? Where should the above mission (if someone can help me) be saved to? Cheers, MP
Mike Busutil Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 There is a server called "Virtual aerobatics". No weapons allowed, sounds like what you are looking for. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/
HiJack Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 In single player (offline) you select to save the track after the flight is finished on the mission status page. On multiplayer mission (online) the track saves automaticly to your track folder under multiplayer.
Mysticpuma Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys. Now, how can I fly with a custom skin? Cheers, MP
Zabuzard Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) You can select skins for every aircraft in a mission via the editor at the weapon selection page of the aircraft. For this you need to edit a mission or create a own. It's pretty easy to create a simple mission with no enemys etc. in the editor. I'd say give it a try :) Just click on the aircraft symbol in the nav-panel, then on the map and a aircraft should spawn. Edited December 15, 2013 by Zabuza
xcom Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Your questions: 1. To fly online you can just jump into a server which is hosting a training mission or a p51 misison, check the name of the mission or the breifing. (DCS Israel for example) You could also make a mission quickly in the mission editor. 2. Adding skins, you'll need to edit a mission and choose for each plane you add which skin it will be with. There's an option to download user made skins and install them, check the downloads section in the ED web site. 3. Track, when flyin online the track is saved automatically for every session, check your - C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\DCS\Tracks\Multiplayer\ Good luck. Stonehouse Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 This one might be ok for what you want. If you stay around the base (sort of 20 kmish) you don't encounter any enemy aircraft but if you later want to try some dogfighting there is an encounter between 2 AI P51s on CAP and 2 enemy ac down towards Adler and if you continue far enough south you start triggering enemy scrambles. I made it for the group I fly with and we use it for warm ups and general combat practice. You can even rearm with a CAS loadout and try ground attack as there are some enemy ground units down where the enemy bases are. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/348122/
Mysticpuma Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Thanks for the help guys. Very much appreciated. Shame there isn't a 'skin selection' screen at the start of a mission :( Cheers, MP
