I am trying to use the How to Take Off and Blow Up Stuff Guide, however some of the things are not working. For example, the countermeasures panel is not working - it does not display any information. And the Weapon Status and Control Panel only shows canon rounds but not any info about missiles. I have resaved the mission, but it doesn't help - any clues as to what might be wrong?

Also all of the missiles selected lights are off as if no missiles are selected.

And another thing - for some reason the nosewheel doesn't get into the raised position, but stays partially down...

Are you sure that guide is for Black Shark 2?

I looked it up quickly on Google, and it looks like it's for the original Black Shark.

For the countermeasures panel to come on, you need to turn on the UV-26 covered switch over your right shoulder.

As for the nosewheel: the only time I've had that happen is damaging the landing gear taxing.

As for the missiles, do you have both your weapon system switch on (lower row, covered switch, near ejector switches) and the master arm switch on the front weapons panel? You did get the ground crew to load missiles, right? :D You selected the appropriate hardpoint (I or Y)?

If your engine throttle ([PGUP] twice, Manual Pg. 84) is in "AUTO" then it is probably not turned on. The switch is on the rear auxiliary panel and described in the manual on page 170 (number 6.).

And the Weapon Status and Control Panel only shows canon rounds but not any info about missiles.

You have to select either inner ( key) or outer ([Y] key) weapon hardpoints first I think.

You probably damaged it then ;).

Oops - you might be right - I am using Black Shark-2. Thanks for the help.

the guide should be perfectly valid for BS2, all the switches are the same, the only major difference is in the flight dynamics.

If your UV-26 won't turn on, there are 3 things you need to check:

1: Switch on Rear Wall Panel (near pilot's right shoulder)

2: Generator switches (right wall panel, top row, almost all the way to the front, just behind the battery switches)

3: throttle (yellow levers on base of collective) is at AUTO (center position) PgUp moves up, PgDn moves down.

If the WCS (weapon control system) appears to be off, then you need to turn the WCS Power switch (right wall panel, bottom row, immediately behind ejection seat switches) is turned on. Also, Generator switches must be on and throttles must be at AUTO.

If your WCS shows cannon rounds remaining but no missiles, then you probably forgot to load missiles.

Like the others said, the guide itself (SimHQ link) should still be perfectly valid.

Para_Bellum's original mission file for BS1 won't work in BS2, but I managed to get it working in BS2 for DCS World once. I think I last checked it in DCS 1.2.5 and it still worked okay. Both .miz links in the SimHQ post should still be valid:

How to take off and blow up stuff for BS1

How to take off and blow up stuff for DCS World

Can you check if the BS2 version (for DCS World) works okay?

I use collective up a little bit to get the weight of the Ka-50 off the wheels, then I use the cyclic forward. I preset/pre-trim the pitch cyclic a little bit forward of center; to see it use Right Control + Return (I think that is it). I rarely taxi. I just takeoff from wherever I am, basically straight up and hover test.

I have used most of the help stuff. I am self taught. Took about a year and I am still learning, 2 years later.

This is what I used a year or two ago:

Thanks for the Parabellum link. A refresher once in awhile is a good idea.

Thanks everyone - the countermeasures dispenser works ok, now that i turn it on with those two switches back on the right. And I didn't know about the Y and I - now the weapons panel lights up as it should. The front gear did appear to be damaged - when the Ka-50 is switched on it raises the nose up - I just probably pushed the stick too hard to put the chopper back on the landing strip.

Yurgon I'll check in the evening and get back to you.

Gloom there is only one knob to turn ON CMD. There are two but when you look at them left one is ON/OFF switch and right one is TEST switch

Thanks for the help guys - I've checked - the mission seems to work, though I haven't made it past the tanks yet...
