JG-1_Vogel Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Hey guys, was goofing around with the Mi-8 on the target range quick start mission and was running into a few performance issues. Now my rig isn't exactly awesome, I run with mainly low/medium settings but FPS is usually quite stable at around 30-40 fps depending on the situation. After a few strafing runs the block of around ten or so vehicles were on fire and when in view my FPS dropped to what felt like single figures making it incredibly hard to maintain control of the helo. I know ED has tinkered with the effects to try and make them more fps friendly (flares spring to mind), but are there any user made mods which could help me? Otherwise I'm going to struggle when I take the Hip into combat. Many thanks!
diveplane Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 just have to read the forums like the rest of us to try come up with fixes to match your rigs hardware. reduce everything to 0 then work your way up. big frame hits as I have said many times are shadows and lighting. set those to 0 in options.lua. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

The biggest FPS hit is, if Hyper Threading is enabled. Than the Heat Blure and than the mirrors. Lightning and Shadows are easy Stuff 4 modern GPUs, even if they are rendered in DX9c. (if you are an AMD user you will get a much more bigger FPS hit). Mustang Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (if you are an AMD user you will get a much more bigger FPS hit). For 7xxx and later GPU's the FPS hit can be greatly reduced http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1985566&postcount=28
