  2. hey pilots, I have a small problem with setting up multiple tankers in the same group. I'm building a mission in which I need pilots to perform air refueling together and simultaneously, so I created a tanker group in the mission with 2 tankers; let's call them Arco 1-1 and Arco 1-2. Since they are in the same group, I can only have one radio frequency, i.e., 280.000. Then I realized that I can set a frequency for each unit in advanced waypoint actions (AWA); hence, I created 2 different frequencies for each unit, 280.250 and 280.750, but when I jump into the mission, I can only see and talk to Arco 1-1 in the comms menu at 280.000! It totally ignores the unit frequencies. Is there a trick to make this work? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a DCS limitation?
  3. I think the simplest no-cost way would be to use https://www.autohotkey.com/ to build some macros e.g. set Ctrl-F1 or whatever to run through that sequence, without having to build anything. I guess you're talking about Voiceattack which allows for macros without having to use the voice part. Assume you can link that to a button box with dcs-bios or whathaveyou. The elgato streamdeck lets you build macros for its big friendly buttons through its software, and you can have pretty much infinite commands and profiles for whatever scenario.
  4. I deleted all skins, cause I completely reworked them. I´m in final testing now and hope I can upload the new ones over the week / weekend. Will let you know.
  5. Wish I could + infinity. I mean I really feel like we've already been paying to experience this. The modules have all the detail baked into them & most importantly a price tag to reflect this only for the core game to not allow us to explore it in a realistic manner. Generally in the commercial flight-simming industry it is true that 'study-sim' & having system failures simulated necessarily go hand-in-hand. I am aware we get a 'random system failure' option but it's basically pointless. In multiplayer it just randomly fails one system on a given plane and its the same system on the same plane every time the mission is loaded. That blows. Mind you this is when aircraft are set to 'client'. I pretty much only fly that way so I just turn it all off. I and many players would find it rewarding if during thorough ground procedures we were actually checking to make sure things were working for a reason. You know, the same reason those procedures even exist and got modeled & sold to us right? I seriously have to ask, how hard is it to implement the following?: === Within triggers rightmost menu: 'ACTIONS' -SET FAILURE: (this is already there) --Dropdown menu named 'UNIT': Select which of the air units that have been placed you want. (This is not there.) --Dropdown menu named 'FAILURE': (this is already there) --Probability (%) <> 100 (this is already there) --Within (mm) <> 1 (this is already there) === Just off the top of my head this would allow for something like the following to be done: You set a moving trigger zone around a carrier & fly an F-14B on approach to land. A trigger is set in the mission that within 5 seconds of any and all F-14Bs entering that proximity to the moving carrier & with your MSL altitude lower than 450' you will get a right compressor stall that complicates your landing, but there's like a 30% chance of it anytime those conditions are met. Just adds a level of immersion, as though these jets have been used plenty. It would also allow for any amount of AI planes to have their systems triggered to fail too. It would put the power in the mission editors hands to determine when which failures can happen. As for the 'random system failures' checkbox, it would make sense if it were to be randomized & generated on a per load/instance basis instead of per mission-file basis like I was saying. Honestly one could (should?) make a bug-report of this as: 'feature that's not working properly' or better yet 'is improperly neglected/missing from the game'. Like I said, we've been sold this immersion. If FS 2004 pay-ware addons could offer it, why cant DCS in 2025????????????????? No exaggeration, look up PMDG 737 for FS2004.
  6. Today
  7. It is possible. I’ve seen small sections of manuals for planes that use R-77, and it works with STT, even if the radar is only receiving the position of the enemy and sending the datalink signal to R-77. It is how J-11A fires it.
  8. I think we're all wondering about that. It might be damage to the carrier deck. I'm not 100% sure. There's another thread on that in here, but no definitive answer that I'm aware of. If your plane is still working, go for another lap!
  9. Thanks for the advice & you were right , I was not following the checklist. I will follow & hopefully , no more problems with the gear. One other thing I have been wondering about & I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask , but it's this: On many of my carrier landings I notice what looks like pieces of my damaged aircraft fly up in the air. I'm thinking I must have touched down too fast or hard. When I look at the F2 view though, I don't see any damage except for sometimes missing the tail hook (the plane continues to operate as if it still has a good tail hook though & the whole plane seems to be fine). Is this a work in progress on the damage model?
  10. F-16 only has a GPS-corrected INS, not a full Enhanced GPS-INS (EGI) navigation system. So when you make a mark point, it's an offset based on the INS present position. As you turn, especially for sharp maneuvers, the INS will drift, and with it, your markpoints (and really every waypoint, coordinate, and such in the jet) will drift as well, moving them off-target.
  11. Can confirm... this was on the SC in the 18. Sent my rig out of limits. Mostly my fault for not setting the surge travel distance lower. Lucky I was wearing a 5 point harness, or the hole in the wall would have been head size...
  12. The TGP will give you slight drag pulling the jet in that direction yes. If you have an axis to use for the roll trim I suggest using that as the trim hat on the stick is sensitive and you have to flick it to make smaller adjustments.
  13. The HUD slew has a different slew rate than other sensors, but if you have the Warthog throttle I suggest using a curve since that axis is extremely small. The rdr cursor control on the F16 irl uses a pressure based setup so the more pressure you apply the faster the slew will move.
  14. Can you post a short track of what you are talking about? Depending on the direction you came in from when you placed the markpoint initially it will appear slightly off if you come in from another direction.
  15. Little background: Long time IL-2'er who got DCS Warbirds a couple years ago to see what it was all about. First plane, probably stupidly, was the K4. Not a quitter, so I stuck it out. But alas, the constant OP engine torque and the crappy old version of the Normandy map wore me out. I put DCS away until June when the F4U came out. Oh goody, now I get to play Ba Ba Black Sheep like I always wanted to as a kid. Well the F4U left a little on the table too, so I'm thinking, back to IL-2 until they fix this baby up. I did like Normandy 2.0 though. But then I see, almost by mistake, hey - I own the D9 too? when did I get that? I must have been drinking again. I see Greg flying Fw's on YouTube and he makes it look so easy - I mean, probabaly not for me, I suck - ok then, lets give it a try. Holy Sh*t!!! Where to begin. In the last two hours I have all the keybinds. Took off and landed on the first flight no issues, I can actually shoot stuff down. It has an MW50 system that is easy to understand, deploy, and it appears to actually work (vs. the K4). Even better, the annoying left wing stall we all love about the Fw, ever so present in the IL-2 version, is wayyyyy more manageable here. I was doing rolls and turns in the DCS D9 that I would never even think of in the IL-2 version. What, I can actually dogfight PvP in a D-9? More to come on that. I have to be honest, between the K4 and the F4U I was starting to think DCS Warbirds was either a total <profanity>show, or I am still a horrible sim pilot. But the D9 and it's smoothy smooth, super fun flight model have shown me the light. Maybe it's just that the K4 and the F4U make the D9 look like a thoroughbred, or is this the best Axis plane in DCS? Or any other flight sim for that matter. Oh yeah, and that engine sound. wow.
  17. Excellent, thanks brother.
  18. However, I will add, that this might still be a bug because I see no reason why the right gear won't extend once the left gear and flaps are in their full down position after you were slow enough. The pressure in the hyd lines should recover at this point and be able to pop the uplock on the right gear. I'm not quite sure how the system is modeled or how it behaved IRL. Something worth noting.
  19. Так о чём спор?
  20. Just cannot quite get the lateral left / right trim right (like in the A10C and F5E) when carrying asymmetrical loadout, is it too sensitive? Also, the targeting pod seems to create a lot of drag to the right during takeoff and landing. Is that correct?
  21. Was trying to do CCRP bombing via the HUD but found adjusting the HUD cursor to be overly sensitive, jumping all over the place even with just slight cursor movement. Is this supposed to be like this? I am using Warthog HOTAS.
  22. I created a mark point for a target, came in using CCRP high drag bombs, only to find the mark point to be a little off from the actual target. This happened at Sinai map. Anyone else noticed this before? Is it a map coordinate issue, or the F16 mark point issue?
  23. Aha! No I didn’t realize that. Thanks
  24. You know when I say “still the best?” it’s somewhat in humor. It’s a device from the 90s. But it serves the purpose. And there wasn’t a 12 week back order. One day I’ll get up the motivation to replace these but I’m not in the mood for mass button mapping right now. Fun discovery, when you get another of the same device the ID# stays the same. Plug in and game on.
  25. Alright, I think I got this one and can help you... So you need to drop the gear, wait for them to down-lock, before dropping the flaps. If you take another look, you can see you put in full 50 deg flaps and were somewhere around 120-140 knots (my short term memory already forgot the speed I just witnessed moments ago). The flaps couldn't push their way down into the airflow and were stuck at maybe 20-30 degrees by the look of it. The flaps were in their "blow back up" state, which means the hydraulic valve was still stuck open, trying to feed more hyd oil to the flap actuators. All of your hydraulic pressure was consumed for this task and not enough oil flow and pressure was diverted to the landing gear. It's apparent you are not flying with a checklist because you missed a few other things as well. These were not related to the landing gear issue: Fuel tank selector needs to be on reserve, and mixture full rich for landings. The checklist also calls for gear first, then hook, then flaps after slowing to 100-110 knots. Have a look at some official checklists and follow them exactly until you get the hang of things, and then continue to use checklists before you find out that complacency kills. If you'd like, search for my Corsair checklists which I have uploaded in this forum, as well as the user files section. Install them, and make sure you wear out the Shift+K keys on your keyboard. I collected the info from game manuals, old 1940's training videos, and the actual POH, and compiled the info together. I've been flying my Corsair per these lists and don't really ever have any issues with the Corsair, knock on wood! Anyway, I think you'll be good from now on. Track files for the win! Send more any time Cheers, -GT-
  26. you may have found the answer already. If you set the alt to 0 it will auto populate to the ground alt. It is a bit annoying to have to do it manually but its better than nothing
