ONLY FOR V1.0.2 ########### Attack on Krymsk ########### The objective of this mission is to destroy the three towers and hangars at the enemy airfield. Once all the SAMs are destroyed, the attack on the airbase will be lead by SU-25’s. Our artillery will attack the southern tower and mark their positions with smoke. We expect that the enemy tanks on the airfield will attempt to attack our artillery. Despite this threat, our artillery will be protected and supported by tanks who will take part in the offensive. Several fuel trucks of major tactical importance are parked on the airfield. It is expected that these trucks will attempt to escape via convoy as soon as the airfield has been abandoned. Prevent this convoy from escaping. Supporting ground units are stationed in the north and are expected to support the airfield. If SAMs are located between these units, they must be destroyed so the final airstrikes can be launched. ############## Black Gold of Anapa ############## Over the last months the INOCO (India Oil Company) has evolved into one of the largest competitors to ARAMCO (Arabian-American Oil Company). After an extended legal dispute regarding the oil-production and oil-refinery in Anapa, the INOCO has decided to take the initiative. Apparently, they bribed a General of the Russian Army to obtain access to military equipment and have built their own private army from these resources. While the exact strength and size of this army is unknown, the INOCO was able to force Anapa and its surrounding areas to submit to their control. It is our job to ease the pressure between both sides in this delicate situation. ######### Convoyhunting ######### We are in a canyon surrounded by enemy SAMs. The enemy has taken control of our forward FARP#2 and the neighboring villages. An approaching enemy convoy was spotted behind the canyon. The convoy is transporting small parts and propellants to produce missiles at the weapon factory in Mestia. ############ Defense of Batumi ############ Our airfield is under attack by artillery from the southwest. Destroy both the artillery and the incoming tanks from the southwest and east. Check all bridges in the area of enemy units. ############### Defense of Gelendzhik ############### Satellite intelligence reveals that the enemy has used the darkness of night to advance to a position dangerously close to our airbase. They have established a FARP behind the hills to the southeast and are operating from this position. An enemy artillery position has recently been located southeast of our airbase. We fear that they might attack at the break of dawn. They will probably target our two oiltankers in the bay of Gelendzhik. We will attempt a preemptive attack on their FARP to prevent them from launching their own attack against our assets. ######### Gudauta Rush ######### Enemy troops crossed the border a few days ago. They overran Gudauta-airport and are occupying the area. Four hostile HAWK-sites are located in the mountains north of Gudauta. The sites are controlling the airspace around Gudauta. The strength of our ground forces is extremely limited due to fierce combat at the airbase. The majority of hostile tank forces are located north of Gudauta (Satelite picture), where they are awaiting urgent fuel and munitions delivery. We have intel that reinforcements for these forces are on the way. One Il-76 "Candid" currently departed Sochi-Adler and will arrive at Gudauta. We expect that an armored supply-convoy will advance from the airport to the tank-forces. The convoy has to be destroyed before it arrives to reinforce the tank forces! Operation "Gudauta-Rush" is underway! First we have to achieve air-superiority and conduct large airstrikes on enemy ground units. As soon as the route to Gudauta has been cleared our ground task force "Stryker" will depart and occupy Gudauta airport. ########## Hamburger Hill ########## Over the course of several decades, tensions between the USA and Russia have increased dramatically. Both adversaries have concentrated their troops at the border. The USA stationed several fighter squadrons at the airport of Nalchik and established a "FARP Torba" near the border river. The USA intends to provide security to the regions surrounding their airbase. Russia has answered with an equal number of aircraft, all of which are stationed at the airport of Mineralnye Vody. In addition, their FARP Kalitka was constructed close to the border river as well. It's just a matter of time until this volatile situation will escalate into a full scale armed conflict... ######## HINDnapping ######## To monitor and eliminate rebel activity in the area, we established a forward FARP as a base of operations for four HINDs (Mi-24v). The area characterized by rebel activity is marked red in the ABRIS. Our intelligence reports an increasing rebel threat in the region. We fear that the hunter will be the hunted and the rebels will attack our forward FARP. ########### NightHawkHunter ########### Four enemy F-117 Nighthawks were damaged in combat and were forced to conduct emergency landings at the airport Nalchik. The F-117's are waiting for spare parts to arrive. With intent to destroy the F-117's, we have found a loophole allowing us to bypass the airport defenses. The airfield is protected by three HAWK-positions, rendering an attack by aircraft impossible. However, two of the three HAWK-positions only cover the airspace 150m above the deck. If we destroy the third HAWK-position, we can fly below their radar and attack the airport. The mission is divided into two phases. Phase 1: - Destroy the third HAWK-position and set up an advanced service point to rearm and refuel. Phase 2: - Approach the airport Nalchik and destroy the four F-117 Nighthawks. ############ Operation Bigfoot ############ Enemy troops crossed the border and are operating from four camps situated high in the mountains. In these camps, HAWK sites were constructed to control the airspace surrounding the camps. During the night, enemy forces moved forward and seized more terrain. We expect the enemy to advance even further, ultiamtely aiming to capture a strategically important chemical plant. Our task force "Hero" will depart the airfield "Mineralnye Vody" in a few minutes to defend the chemical plant. You must hold the enemy units back until the task force arrives. ############ Operation Pushback ############ A few days ago, the enemy crossed the border and advanced into the city of Alakhadzy, located just north of the river. By taking the city, the enemy is dangerously close to our FARP. The river is their last obstacle and the only remaining bridge was seized by the enemy. Our troops are ready to counterattack. ############# Operation Umbrella ############# According to recent intelligence, a large enemy tank-division is currently garrisoned in a base south of Krasnodar. If we manage to destroy this tank division, the tide of the war will be turned in our favor. The base is protected by a network of Early Warning Radar (EWR) systems called "Umbrella". Because of these installations, we cannot send in an airplane undetected. Ground troops are too slow and ineffective in the rough terrain, rendering them useless for destroying the tank division. To defeat these defenses, we need a NOE (Nap of the Earth) flight profile that will allow us to advance on their positions undetected and thus maintain the element of surprise. The enemy knows of our Ka-50 fleet and assumes that they are not properly equipped for night missions. Despite their assumption, our night vision capabilities will teach them a lesson when we catch them with their pants down! The enemy will never expect a night attack! The attack will have two phases: Phase 1: - Sneak in close to the "Umbrella"-EWR-stations and destroy the installations. Phase 2: - Advance into the enemy territory and destroy the tank-division. ##### Outpost ##### We established a FARP northwest of Majkop. Inteligence reports that the enemy will attempt to push us back to Majkop, hence overrunning our newly established FARP. To monitor enemy movement in the area, we have stationed four outposts to the north. ########### Rookie Terrorists ########### Yesterday, a group of local militia assaulted and captured a delivery of discarded military vehicles. Several BRDM, MTLB and T-55 have fallen into enemies hands, among them five Stinger-MANPADs. Two days ago, this same group also captured six red-blue trucks loaded with explosives. They have recently declared themselves as a terrorist organization and have threatened to use these trucks in an upcoming bomb attack. We must find and destroy these trucks before they can be used as terrorist weapons. Our intelligence has located the terrorist camp near a mountain lake. The road leading to the camp features six bridges that have been turned into terrorist checkpoints with the stolen military equipment. ########### Hardcore Terrorists ########### Three days ago the mission "RookieTerrorists" was initiated but failed to accomplish its objectives. A group of local militia captured and stole numerous military vehicles and explosive-rigged, red-blue transport trucks. After acquiring a substantial military force, they declared themselves as a terrorist organization and have threatened to use their explosive-rigged trucks for a terrorist attack. We tried to find and destroy these explosive trucks before they can be used against us in a terrorist attack. Intelligence indicates that the terrorists have established an encampment near a lake in the mountains. To defend their outpost, the terrorists established armed checkpoints at six bridges that run along a road leading to the camp. We initiated an assault on these positions but our forces were forced to retreat. Our FARP was later overran after our ground forces retreated to a safer location. We underestimated the enemy but this will never happen again!1 point

Guys, please, let's wait for the official pricetag and not this estimated price. It's pretty common that some companies set their prices high, when there's no official news. If you make it cheaper later, everybody's happy. If you learn you have to increase the price and people already preodered, you're in trouble. So let's not take this premature offer as something real. I dunno, but my gut is telling me that Saitek's marketing weenies are off of the mark on this one. First off, the price seems somewhat high for the general market which leaves the niche hardcore market. That is not necessarily bad, I mean a tensometric stick is a viper simmers' wet dream, but then you'd think they would have put more effort in replicating the real flight stick and throttle. I think the F22 has a tensometric stick as well, but being newly returned to the sim game I am not up to speed on the details of what other aircraft use this technology. Secondly, if you are aiming at the high end sim market, the DCS series seems to be what you'd want to be targeting, but from the information we have so far, it is unlikely to fit the bill as far as realism goes. Saitek seems to have a penchant of throwing all kinds of cool things on a stick without much regard for who are going to be the most likely users of the product or how useful those features are actually going to be. I think that X65F may end up being a a stick in search of a sim. Cheers, Pogo1 point

MAX8 Моя тема - ВВС СССР, современные меня не так сильно интересуют, да и летающие они в реале есть. Вот МиГ-23М или Як-28И (и т.д.) в LockOn-е, пусть и на чужой платформе, посмотреть в "полете", мне очень приятно :) Полтора - два года назад, уважаемые Dronas и Gys71, помогали мне осваивать анимирование в LockOn-е, теперь все проходит испытания в нем. Времени вот только катастрофически не хватает...1 point

Вам - точно нету. Вы ни умеете ни писать: ваши посты абсолютно нечитаемы, чтобы разобрать, что вы написали, приходтся ломать глаза и мозг; ни читать: иначе бы уже прочли, что "вставить кокпит" или "добавить на карту ещё, чёт из городов и филдов и гор" - довольно сложная работа, что на один нормальный "кокпит" нужно много месяцев, а кривых делать не будут. Вам не нужен форум. А ну-ка, разработчики, быстро мне делайте, что я хочу!1 point

Has anybody else been there? Unfortunately, despite the sunshine, the visibility was quite bad and the fog didn't burn off for the whole day, so some scheduled participants couldn't join or display their whole program, but the show was great anyway. The things that impressed me the most were the aerobatics performed by the Blades, Melissa Andrzejewski and the Red Bull Bo 105, the B-17 Sally B from Duxford and the PBY Catalina. I had also hoped to see the Hurricane and Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, but they couldn't take off from the UK because of bad weather. :( There were also lots of aircraft form the Nato Tiger Meet that was held simultaneously at the nearby Kleine Brogel airbase, mainly F-16s but also various Mirages, Gripen and an F-18. With all the talk about multi-monitors I realised that anyone with a single big widescreen can improve their use of the Shkval/ABRIS (at the expense of losing their lower corners). If you go into HUD only view you'll see them overlayed on either side of your screen. This is great but is often disabled in multiplayer servers. Well by creating a new LUA file in (root)\Config\MonitorSetup\ you can acheive the same effect in the cockpit view. here's the contents of the new file (called WidescreenCamera+Shkval+ABRIS.lua): -- WidescreenCamera+Shkval+ABRIS.lua Description = 'Full Camera, Shkval in botton left corner, and ABRIS in the bottom right' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = screen.width; height = screen.height; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; } } Shkval = { width = screen.width / 5; height = screen.height / 4; x = 0; y = screen.height * 3 /4 ; } ABRIS = { width = screen.width / 6; height = screen.height *2 / 5; x = screen.width * 5 / 6; y = screen.height * 3/5 ; }1 point

In the TrackIR GUI choose the Profiles tab and click new profile. Name it "BlackShark" or something to distinguish it from other setups. Then in the list above search for the entry "Black Shark" and and click "Default Profile" in the next row and select "Black Shark". This way each time you start BS this profile is loaded. Now edit the profile by doubleclicking it in the lower window. In the Motion-tab you can see axes and some basic settings. First check "Tracking"-Preview window. A small black window will oben, that represents what the TrackIR-camera is detecting. Your TrackClip or whatever you use should be clearly visible and marked in green. Red dots are other IR sources or reflections. If there are any visible, especially when moving your head click the settings-tab on the lower right of the tracking window. (This is important, if you have glasses, for example, as they reflect the IR light, too.) Click Light Filtering and set the bar to the left and right to get the lowest possible value to minimize the red areas without one of the tracking reflectors being blocked out (becoming red, too) You can also locate possible IR-sources in the background with this view and remove them. Another thing to check here, is wether you "aimed" your TrackIR right. The closer you get to the border of the visible area, the more likely the camera won't be able to track resulting in an unsteady ingame view. Now you can close this tab and click the "gauges" preview window. A new window will open, showing you all axes of your TrackIR. Doubleclick the blue area with the lines next to "Yaw". With the "Curve Editor" you can adjust the sensitivity as a whole, for different range-bands and you can also copy them to other axes. At this point, it's rather trial and error. My suggestion: Run BS in windowed mode, start a simple mission where you sit on the ground and switch between this window and BS back and forth to test your own best settings. I personally prefer a linear acceleration setting. You can choose that in the "Curve Editor"-window with the pull-down-menu "Acceleration". I then shift the entire curve to a value of 8 for pitch and yaw, to 14 for X, Y, Z. I recommend to switch "Roll" off or put in a low value for the beginning. If the camera is still shaky, try changing the smoothing-factor and disable "TrueView". Hope this will help you.1 point

Hey all, first post and a topic that I may actually be able to ad to. Anyway this is a walk through of how I set up all games for track IR. I love the thing so much now I won't even play any driving/flying/sim games if they do not support trackir. I picked it up instantly in flight sims but had a bit of a learning curve in car sims for some reason but like I said I could not ever play without it again. Screw you mouse look! Back to the point of this post, how I use the thing.. it may help you. Make a Custome Profile First. Firstly always make sure you update it. If it doesn't work in a game it is meant to then this is the first thing you look at then slap yourself. Make sure it's running (Yah obvious but yah know) Click on the Profiles Tab. You then have basically 2 list boxes. The top one has a list of games(Title, Auto-Load Profile) it supports at the version level you have. The second list box is down the bottom, "Available Profiles". It will have stuff like DEFAULT PROFILE, FLIGHT ETC. Click on FLIGHT to highlight it, it be a sample profile. Below that you will see 4 buttons, New, Edit, Delete, Copy. Click Copy. Now check the Available Profiles box and you will see a new profile there for you called "Copy of Flight" Now left click "Copy of Flight" and then using the buttons below click "Edit" Click the "General" Tab and rename it to blackshark. OK that so it closes the box. Now go back to the top window and select the title Black Shark. To the right of that you will see there is a drop down box with "Default profile" in it. Click on that and change it to the new custom profile you have created called "Black Shark" Now thats done you should have in the top window the title "Black Shark" with a Auto-loaded profile called "Black Shark". Congrats that's a custom profile and now to make it work well. I will tell you how I set up the profiles that made it all make sense to me, others may differ but this is what I like to do. Setting it up. Double click you custom profile "Black Shark" in the available profiles window. There will be General. Motion and Hotkeys TAB's. Click motion if it is not already there for some reason. Double click Yaw in the Axis list. You should be in the curve editor. You should see 2 drop boxes at the top (Axis and Acceleration) with a graph below it. Click the Acceleration Drop box and select Linear. Notice the straight line in the graph. Now on the right of the graph you see a couple of up/down selctor thingoes. Go to the "Shift Entire Curve" one and set it for something low like 5. Don't click the position of value boxes, just the "Shift entire curve" one. The line should be nearly at the bottom now. Yeah its low but this is for a reason :) Ok now you have done that at the very bottom of the Curve editor under the graph you see a drop box.. "Copy curve to axis:", select ALL and click copy. Click ok What you have just done is to make a custom profile that had every movement set to 5 and is in a linear fashion. That means no weird curves or anything. It mean basicaly how you move your head is exactly how you head moves in game. To me this is the only way, curves don't give me intuative movment. Now on to fine tuning. I will assume blackshark is like any other game and can be tab'ed out of on the fly. You should have 2 windows still open for Trackir. The one with all the profiles and the one where you can edit the profile, particularly black shark. Now start the game and get in the chopper. Best to be landed at this point. Your head in game should be swinging around but not much (Remember low settings). Now look directly at the middle of your screen and press the center key. The default would be f12. Ok move your head around, start with just left and right. It is probably crap and you have to turn your head stupid amounts to see a full panorama. What you want to do here is to set it up so you don't have to turn your head large amounts. So Tab out and adjust JUST the Yaw curve. Double click on it and "Shift enitre curve" up a few notches. Ok it and tab back into the game. Look directly at the center of the screen and press f12 again. Now look left and right and notice the difference. Do the above again until you are happy. Do the same for Pitch and Roll. X,Y and Z I usualy bump right up so I don't actualy have to move my real body much in the chair. Some Tips: Do not wear any high vis clothing. Trackir will freek on it, same with bright lights, nice reflective things or direct sunlight behind you. Be carefull not to set the sensitivity to high. For example you have it set so you move your virtual head behond the bounds of game. I like to set it up so I almost hit the game limits moving my head comfortably and can only exceed the game limits by moving my head into an uncomfortable position. Seems to help keep it calibrated and it a much better "feel" to it. Anywhere the above should give you a good basis of where to start and more importantly a good idea of how it works so you can then set it up the way YOU like it. You may end up liking curves and stuff, who knows but now you should have a nice basis for understanding how to play with your new toy.
