Well, 1 hour of Silent Hunter 5 was enough for me to mutter, "what a load of……", put the DVD on my “maybe in a year when enough patches and proper documentation come out”, shelf, and to move my sleeping bag back into this queue. UBI Romania must be getting shafted from the producers over release dates as SH5 is in even more of a mess than 3 or 4 ever were. The manual/pamphlet is a joke and the .pdf is just the pamphlet!! No wonder ED told UBI to, “Shov*@[EDIT]….kindly remove your towel from my deckchair good chap”. Anyway I digress. In the words of the learned B.Simpson; Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? ps. take your time ED, get it right, this is a friendly and orderly queue. Notice the lack of pitchforks and burning torches, (they are all on the UBI forums now).

I have been running my sims in landscape mode . I decided to try Lockon in Portrait Mode and was suprised at how much better it ran in that mode. I did a short demo on youtube, it's not very well done but I think you get the idea. The left screen is dark because of the camera aspect, its hard to get all the screens without a wideangle lens. The resolution in this mode is 3780x1920 and the sim runs a lot better, very fluid. I added a better Youtube video which includes Trackir5. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rduAoViiarw

PAK-FA was built later. They know what did and didn't work with the F-22, and why. Also, there are all the improvements in avionics and etc. done in the meantime. So you expect it to at least match the F-22A. But the F-22 and F-35 still have the edge when it comes to delivering the package. Even if the PAK-FA becomes the Chuck Norris of 5th gen fighters, the situation right now makes this possible: Sneak under radar, track without being detected, counter ECM and jam his radar, close in his dead six. -Great! ...then sees something dropping, a flash and a blast. Well, that can ruin your day, really :music_whistling: But then of course, missiles are in development to close the gap. All discussion we're doing today might be useless when these planes actually become operational (talkin' 'bout F-35 and PAK-FA), and then may become useless again when official data about them is released. And for Downey, just a reminder that Cold War is over. It's always good to have an edge, of course. But insisting on this "Bad Russian Dude That Will Try To Kill Us" line of thinking can be misleading sometimes :smilewink:

Yes, your math does serve pretty terribly. Do you think the same eagles that were produced in '76 are still in service? The reason their service lives appear so long is because the production runs are so long and the airframes numerous enough that they are replacing retired airframes. The F-22 is NOT getting that type of production run. They have to make do with airframes that they have NOW. And make no mistake about the F-35's A2A capability. It might not match a Raptor, but any 4/4.5 gen planes likely won't know what hit'em anyway.

Во-во! А я ещё подскажу какими пальчиками удобнее - мизинцем (изогнуть в виде крючка) и указательным (не рекомендуется изгибать, а то не до тянешься до кнопки 'Ры(корд)'). А вааще дельное предложение поступило от Дронаса - чекбокс.
