  5. Alright...So, figured out what is was. I had a mod in the tech call Wolf. Opening it up it looks like it has some trucks in it. I'll attach a picture below. Obviously there is something in there that disagrees with the game and crashes it. I appreciate all the suggestions for figuring this out y'all!

  7. I encountered a strange issue. One day, I was flying DCS without issue, and the next day, the sim wouldn't start. I'm sharing this to let people know a solution since there has been a change in my Malware protection capabilities. First, to describe the issue, the DCS.exe would be present in the task manager, and you could see it start loading memory. The memory used/loaded was about 106-8.2 MB... When DCS didn't show any CPU activity, I would kill the process and start again. Through the process of elimination, I found that Malwarebytes had an update between when it worked and when it didn't, no splash screen, nothing. The only way to figure out that there was a problem was to watch the boot sequence of DCS in the task manager. The specific setting had to do with Settings -> Protection -> Exploit protection (and the sub item "Block potentially malicious email attachments"). I turned off the Exploit protection in Real-Time Protection. There is no log to attach, as there was almost no log. It got to the login tasks, and that is where it died. I hope this helps someone.

  10. Eh... not all landings are good, especially when after engagement you end up with 1 damaged engine and then you're trying to land on very short runway, adding to problems drag chute when released rips off on release which does not help with breaking and stopping the airplane

  11. Ok, let's see where the issue stems from (extract from the manual): Let's start with LITERALLY the first sentence of this chapter! Read it? Good! Now have a look at your tachometer - 1200RPM right off the bat! Go through the actual procedure, read the manual, and you won't have problems. (I know for a fact, that the engine seizing to work later in the flight is most often the culprit of having improperly warmed up the engine. You ain't the first, and neither the last to experience this.) Another quick note; you don't need to murder the primer pump to start a Daimler. Three strokes are more than enough during what you might call average weather conditions. In winter, you might want to do 4-5 injections are plentiful. How will you know if you primed it enough? Simple, when you pull the starter handle, watch the fuel pressure gauge - 0.8 bar during engine start-up is perfect. Anything below, let go off the starter handle, and stroke it some more. (The manual does state that you might need as many as 15 strokes, but that would have to be a very hard beaten Daimler, stored for years with neglect. You won't need that many.) Yet another note: you move the throttle forward during start-up, which is not needed at all in the BF-109K4. Actually, in order to specifically not go above 600RPM, you should barely nudge it, as in, barely. That will also solve your uncontrolled rolls during start-up.

  14. So, just wondering how things progress with trailers. Not the little movie kind, the towed vehicle kind. Quite a while ago ED added a few vehicles that were specifically tractor units. The other day I noticed that quite a few units that are technically trailers, like several AA guns, now appear in the limbered configuration in the encyclopedia at least (even though I believe the QF 3.7" has a few bits the wrong way around, but I might be mistaken). That all leads me to the question: how is the progress on the system and can we expect to have usable trailers anytime soon? How is it going to work in the ME?

  16. I assumed that is what the thread was about a block 30 in a ODS configuation. I figure Ideal the F-Teens modules should have had 3 maybe 4 variants . An early A, an early C (Desert Storm Configuration), and a late model C (early 2ks variant we have). I get that might not be possible to do the multipack.

  18. Hi everyone. I'd like to show you what I've come up with. But I want to redesign the throttle control panel in a Mustang style. And add a separate gear for the chassis. By the way, by switching to 24V power supplies, reducing the height of the joystick gear to 215mm, and increasing the size of the large gears to 68 teeth, I got 17 kg on the joystick with a 40 cm handle height!!! And with my old pedals, I got 40 kg!!!

  25. How are the tablets set as monitors? It would be helpful to know if they're using something like screendesk to emulate virtual monitors, have natural monitor thingies, or what have you

  31. 2 weeks ago it flew 100m over my head on full burner for over 10 minutes so I kind of have enough of Rafale for a while. Not that I complain or was in wrong place wrong time - it was totally expected

  32. the x3d only causes problems if you are not using the correct CCD for games, usually this is solved by installing the recommended software ;in this case making sure gamebar is installed... or you can use can use process lasso to manually make sure that DCS is using the right CCD.. e.g. the ones with the 3dvcache

  34. Don't expect much help with this. George AI has been reported repeatedly as inconsistent, at best, multiple times. In any case, if you don't include a track file of what you're talking about happening and including the time mark when it happens (yes, really) you have zero chance of getting a useful response. This has been my experience, and there is still no resolution. At this time, if I feel like flying the Apache solo, I seriously have to weigh whether the inevitable frustration of George not working correctly is worth the effort.

When we finally get decent flight models for the AI and better AI, I would love to have an option called "Aggressor mode" where the AI tries to mimic another aircraft using the current one selected. This won't be a flight model swap where you are flying against a MiG-21 that looks like an F-5 rather you would have and F-5 with a pilot trying to keep things with in the paramaters of a MiG-21 in as much as possible with an F-5

  37. @Raviar @sleighzy sleighzy's fix is likely the true fix for the issue. you should give sleighzy the solution; while my suggestion was merely a stage in troubleshooting. i still use the launcher on my system. but only to get into the sim. all it does for me is some promotional visuals and delays me getting into the sim. as suggested you can go into that file and revert back to true to test.

  40. In the past it has been a multiplayer-specific issue (and possibly dedicated server only, versus self-host MP). It could be related to how forces on the load/cable are interpolated across packets which would become more critical during the final stage of a descent.

Not a MiG-29 expert in any way but according to the manual: On the front panel of the ISTR4 indicator there is a switch "T-R" [9], to select information about remaining fuel base on direct in-tank measurement or based on flow-measuring calculations of STR system; a switch "TAC. – OPT." [2], change estimated distance indication: for max fuel conservative flight modes "OPT" or for actual flight mode fuel consumption. The ISTR4 scale provides fuel readings in hundreds of kilograms. The estimated distance in EN cockpit in nautical miles So in TAC, is hows you flight distance for regular flight "TAC" or for very conservative flight "OPT". So when in OPT, the distance is greater than in TAC, but you'll have to adjust your way of flying to conserve fuel. I am unaware of which parameters actually constitutes this though in terms of speed, RPM etc.

  45. As a VR user and owner of "DCS: NS 430 Navigation System", I think it would be a nice feature because currently flat mode is incompatible with VR devices.
