  1. "Pilot: Ryan-Paulbert Call Sign: Slink First time flying into combat last night with the boys from 76th Tankbuster's. Just for some background info, I'm an extremely new nugget. So excuse the panic stick and throttle inputs as I'm still not as confident on my flying abilities! Kylania and Python took me under their wing to learn a few things and next thing you know, I'm in a sketchy situation due to a SAM and not paying attention. Changed flight plan back to Kutaisi for an emergency landing. 76th's Kylania and Python talking me in as I'm trying to land this thing. I've never done an emergency landing before, got my heart racing that's for sure. Then on final approach I notice a blip on the runway... Another player parks his Hog (maybe disconnected?) on the runway!!! But to my avail I narrowly... and I do mean NARROWLY, miss clipping his wing by rudder hard to the left." I noticed I didn't even bother to extinguish the fire. I honestly don't know why, lol. I guess in my head there was too much going on for me that something so obvious slipped my mind O_O

  4. While I was checking a few things out on the GTX 460 I had that annoying Windows update popup. So I looked and it was merely just a C++ update and a couple windows security updates. So I installed them. This is where the interesting things started. When I loaded up Battlefield Bad Company 2 and I was normally getting around 60+ FPS. After the updates it seemed I was locked at 30 FPS. So I thought about it, the only odd update was the C++ update and right after that install and restart this started happening. So I went in and uninstalled it, rebooted and when I loaded BFBC2 it went back to the normal 60+ FPS. So, to verify this was in fact the culprit I reinstalled the update. Well, it went right back to 30 FPS in game. The update in question is KB2467173, security update for Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package: April 12, 2011. I am not sure how or why this update would cause such an issue, but it apparently does. So if you are having trouble in game with FPS after installing this C++ security update, make sure you uninstall it and it should help return you back to the higher FPS in games. http://www.geforce3d.net/forums2/showthread.php?t=6421

  7. IIRC BS is 2 channel only - what may have been happening was the creative drivers were spreading the sound to the other channels. See if the New sound card drivers have such an option. Nate

  8. Well I will be the one to get yelled at. I think those pictures are terrible. They look as if they are from 2001. That doesn't mean I won't be buying it of course :)
