Hello fellow Sim-Enthusiasts! I want to show you my pit, from the building to using it to enjoy this awesome sim. This looks like a great app. Im sure alot of work was put into it.. but the price is just too much. I bought DCS-a10 on sale for 20 dollars. But this app is 30 bucks. If iControl was 10 bucks i would buy it in a second. But i cant justify an software accessory that costs more than the game. BTW im also a software developer and have created my own ios apps.1 point

I know you're trying to make the same case as me, Demongornot, but I think some of your arguments and expectations are too far-fetched to be taken seriously(e.g. comparing flight sim graphics directly to first-person shooters). We're talking about modelling an entire country here - not just a small valley. I've tried to reproduce EtherealN's photo in DCS and in Rise of Flight, and compared them so we can learn a bit more about how colours contribute to realism. Notice how in the real-life photo (and in Rise of Flight), the forests have some very dark areas in amongst the trees which appear almost black, and some lighter areas which give the trees their green appearance. In the DCS landscape, there is no black at all. The darkest colour to be found anywhere in DCS's forests is still lighter than the lightest colour in the real-life forest. The horizon haze is also very grey, compared with the medium blue of the real-life example. Note how similar the average colour is between the three images - this tells us that the differences boil down to contrast, not the colours by themselves. It doesn't really matter how your screen is calibrated - nothing's going to change the fact that the DCS landscape has almost zero colour contrast. Now both DCS and Rise of Flight have their graphical strengths and weaknesses, but when it comes to colours, I really think that DCS could learn a thing or two from RoF. The first change I would recommend is to darken both the trees themselves and the terrain under them to give the impression of a more lush, dense forest. Another improvement would be to give the atmospheric haze some extra saturation and that distant bluish hue we see in real life.1 point

Hi Kuky, man- you where busy... I was able to optimize your SoftTH config . I made three presets. When testing them use the files attached in each separate folder folder in for DCS - don't mix them. Means : don't use the options.lua of preset 1. with the config.SoftTHconfig of preset 2. First some general info - I lowered the res of your MFCD's to 512. - simply because you don't have a benefit to render them in 1024 on the little screens because they are 555x555px. So 512 is absolute OK and you will see no difference - but it will free up resources. I also disabled the TSSAA - try first without it and when the performance is OK - try with TSSAA on. And I you are the very first to use a new setting in the "Monitors-Lua" I found a very simple way to place the GUI anywhere I want.!! And I removed the fourth monitor from the SoftTH config. - also enabled Aero (keepComposition=1) - enabled SoftTH to run at all cores of your CPU (processAffinity=1) -and fixed the FPS for your MFCDs to 20 (I think that is fair) 1.SoftTH 2.08b for kuky 7970 This set uses 1920x1800 in-game res and uses your default original LMFCD+Camera+RMFCD.lua But contains all tweaking that I mentioned above. 2.SoftTH 2.08b for kuky 7970 with destRect This set is FPS optimized and has a reduced res. In-game res is now 1920x1755. (but the main view is still 1920x1200) The monitor.lua is tweaked and soft only transports 555x555 for each MFCD instead oh 800x600 with the undocumented "DestRect" function (more about it here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1303406#post1303406 ) 3.SoftTH 2.08b for kuky 7970 with HDR and destRect This present uses the tweaks of 2. but also spans the Camera-view port at the whole render resolution - so you are able to have HDR On without the misalignment of the sun-rays. (you might have to readjust your view a little up - do this with the "viewDy = 0;" 0.2 seams to be OK - or edit the cockpit-camera-view in the "SnapViewsDefault.lua" - more info on "how to" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82056&highlight=SnapViewsDefault.lua ) And here comes the clue: The Gui will not be stretched over your whole Camera view of 1920x1755 - it will only appear at your main display. This is what I added to the monitors.lua to make it work (in bold) Fix for misplaced/stretched MP and Mission Gui - also for BS: It works also for multi-player. This is the solution for all multi-monitor users. The Communication and briefings will only appear in the new "Gui" view-port. (The info-bar will still be stretched - but you can use AppKey+S to bring all rendered info at the main view if needed) So I would advise you to start right away with 3. and check out 2 and 1 if you problems unforeseen appear.1 point

The LAR's in the F-15 are not working correctly. The easiest way to see this is to set yourself up in the six of another aircraft, take an STT lock with the bandit on your nose and note the size of the LAR. Then turn your aircraft left or right and you will see the RMAX displayed increases as you turn away. Active missiles on your RWR. As you run away, about 10 seconds before they self destruct the RWR indications go away for about 2-5 seconds, then turn back on. I havent checked if you fixed this from FC1: The displayed elevation of the F-15 radar was in error. If you set the bottom of the scan at 20000ft, it would actually be looking from 22000ft. This creates obvious issues when using a coordinated scan between squad mates. Moving map for the F-15 would be handy. Should be displayable on the PACS panel. The dispersion on the F-15's gun seems way too great. Back me up here IvanK1 point

Wait, how the hell does the Aero theme give better game performance? I'm using "windows basic" which is basically the same thing but turns off the transparency on the windows.1 point

I realized that the changes I was making for "version 6b" were enough to warrant calling it the "version 7" update. So I figured I oughta add some more tasks while I'm at it. Version 7 changelog (so far) -Added - 8 new tasks -Changed - The triggers dealing with time delay have been changed. It was a set time + a short random delay. It now picks a number at random within a set range and counts down by 1 at a specified rate until the value reaches 0. -Added - "realism mode" I hope you have alot of time to kill :D -Added - There is now a 20% chance a task will spawn even if the player requirment for an extra task is not met. (Still maximum of 3 concurrent tasks) -Added 'spawntask' command to slmod functionality. Identical in function to the F10 command -Fixed message error caused once 3 tasks were assigned -Changed automated messages to appear every 30 minutes since last auto or player requested update -Improved Timing of triggered messages -Fixed known typos with coordinates -Made player spawn bases prettier (added a few parked aircraft and trucks) -Changed default aircraft payloads Payloads: All aircraft have TGT pod, sidewinders, Jammer pod, and M151 HE rockets Tusk, Boar 1-4 2x AGM-65D, 2x AGM-65H, 2x GUB-38, 2x GBU-12 Tusk, Boar 5,6 4x AGM-65D, 2x CBU-105, 2x CBU-103 Tusk, Boar 7,8 1x AGM-65G, 1x AGM-65K, 2x GBU-31, 2x GBU-12 -Added hope that this is the last update for this mission A few of the features need to be playtested, but a download should be up in the near future.1 point

А вот мне бы хотелось, чтобы сервера, которые сейчас не понятно как высвечиваются можно было бы сортировать, например по пингу, по количеству человек на сервере, по времени старта сервера или по алфавиту. Это сильно трудно реализовать?1 point

Запустил ... "поиграл" что понравилось - красивые эффекты срыва потока - на танке красивая травка и выстрелы что не понравилось - адское управление ... более убогого придумать невозможно в вертикальной плоскости крутить петли невозможно самолёт переворачивается при проходе горизонта. Выполнить ровную горизонтальную петлю у меня не получилось ... при этом боты летают нормально ... какого фига я летаю как наркоман ? - физика ... я понимаю что это аркада и т.д. но почему у меня самолёт просто останавливается в воздухе при падение скорости до нуля ? А в целом неплохая игрушка если исправить управление и немного дописать физику (что б не было как я описал) то получится отличная аркада не смотря на всю убогость управления игровой процесс затягивает ... напомнило Миг-29 от новалоджик1 point

AFAIK this is normal; most missiles and rockets will naturally turn into the wind. This is called weathercocking or weathervaning, and it's due to the fact that the wind will exert a greater force on the back of the missile than on the front, due to the control surfaces in the back. This creates a torque which turns the nose into the wind. Given that the Vikhr's rocket motor burns through most of it's flight, and is easily powerful enough to overcome the net downwind force, it's no surprise that the missile tends to end up well upwind of the intended target. In other words, you're not missing due to wind drift, you're missing because the missile doesn't have sufficient control authority to correct it's weathercocking tendency and point it's nose at the target. Vibration damper for dampening out 16Hz (5:1) vibrations from the rotor system. Makes flights a little smoother for crew and passengers. EDIT: I took a picture of the vibration damper a while back, just found it. It's called a "bifilar" damper, since it uses a weight balanced on two "filaments" or pins. It's the exact same thing the Black Hawk uses, but the Black Hawk doesn't use covers over the weights like the Mi-8's do.1 point

Батон с багом в виде окурка ещё ни разу не оставался безнаказанным:) По поводу ЕД у меня вывод такой. Это обычная фирма с *русским* менталитетом, где задача каждого работника просто получать зарплату и не заботиться ни о чем кроме. Программисты прекрасно понимают, что если развалится эта контора-найдут себе другую. И что возможное увеличение зарплаты не окупит усилий по улучшению продукта. Нет стимула-нет развития. Что и наблюдаем. У некоторых личностей ещё остался энтузиазм, но среди общей пассивности пользы от него мало.1 point

Тема была начата мною... 10-24-2011, 09:15 AM после массированных атак, которые я наблюдал... 24 ноября 2011 года - понедельник... весь предыдущий полётный виккенд был испорчен. Некоторые вещи смогли проанализировать, некоторые всплывают по новому... Жаль, что эта ветка больше наполнена личностными перепалками... Спасибо разрабам за принятие мер для А-10 и Ка 50 - 2... Надеемся, что в ЛО 3 этого не будет... Остаётся паролить серваки и ждать выхода ЛО 3. :smilewink:1 point

Экшена нехватает, эмоциональности. Нужно чтоб игрок находясь в районе боевых действий ощущал себя *по уши в говне* и не успевал расслабляться. Я вот например через некоторое время неосознанно начинал дышать синхронно с сопением персонажа в кабине :)1 point

Не надо с порога отметать AceCombat. У него есть чему поучится. Не надо зацикливаться только на скрупулёзной достоверности симуляции, игра должна развлекать пользователя, а не усыплять текстовыми брифингами к миссиям. :)1 point
