Если ты не видишь суслика, то это еще не значит, что его нет. А я регулярно вижу запароленные сервера, где летает по 30-40 человек. Просто в силу наличия некоторых неадекватов в последнее время, эти сервера не светятся в общем списке. То, что ты видишь по 5 человек - это внутренние тренировки пилотажников/звеньев сквадов, ну и просто маленькие междусобойчики. Непонятно ваше с Волком возмущение: наличие инструмента совсем не означает его повсеместное применение. Тут как в анекдоте про мужика и самогонный аппарат.3 points

ED уже фактически согласились, что будут править ФМ, когда появиться такая возможность. Однако официальными заявлениями это назвать действительно трудно. Официальный тон переписки не вполне соответствовал правилу "клиент всегда прав", а скорее наоборот. Сама ситуация, когда клиенту приходиться говорить "как оно должно летать", достаточно абсурдна. То, что ему вынужденно приходиться это делать, тоже не вполне соответствут духу "клиент всегда прав", при всем уважении к ED.2 points

Here is the location to get the newest EDM tools. The package is built every night, hence why there are many files. Since some items such as glass making, and alpha channels have changed, please ask your questions here and I will try my best to answer them. I personally use 3ds max 2010, so if there is any issue where someone would like me to look at something, please save your file for version 2010. Link for EDM plugins: (Use the most recent builds. DO NOT use anything 62806 or before) (Plugins are now only for x64 versions of 3DS Max) http://files.eagle.ru/mods/edm_plugins/ Link for standalone Modelviewer: (Last verified version is 115338.), (Only works on 64bit systems) http://files.eagle.ru/mods/model_viewer2/ Q/A For EDM Tools: 1) What is .EDM? A: EDM is the new format that began with DCS: A-10C. 2) How is it different than the old .LOM format? A: EDM is a much more flexible method and has the ability for Specular and Normal maps along with other features. 3) I am currently working a model/ have a finished model that I made for the .LOM format. What do I need to do? A: EDM has supports all arguments that LOM has. The only difference will be some touch-up work to make it compatible. 4) What are the biggest touch up things that need to be done? A1: To correct textures: Textures need to have a special material type assigned to them. This is done by opening the Material Editor (M key). Select your texture slot. Then click on Utilities, EDModelTool, then click "Make Cool". If you do not see EDModelTool, Click 'More' in the Utilities tab and select it. Back in the Material Editor, you will now see a new category called "Material Attributes". For most items, use "Default" in the pull down section. Do this for each material slot and export normally. A2: To correct glass: Glass is no longer created by a checkbox selection field. It is created by a combination of a texture with an alpha channel, (TGA/ PNG) and 3ds max settings. The transparency level is controlled in the alpha channel of your texture, the color of the glass is done in the main channels. Once that is finished, follow the above steps but instead, select "Glass" as the material. Under "Blinn Basic Paramaters", pick your TGA/ PNG texture for the Diffuse and the Opacity channels. A3: To correct collision: Collision detection is no longer done by using a combination of a bounding box and non-renderable mesh. To create a collision model, Make a mesh that represents the basic shape of your model. In the "User Defined" tab of the mesh's properties, enter: TYPE = "collision_shell";. A4: To correct alpha channels: In the Material Editor, under "Material Attributes", change Opacity from "None" to "Blend". 5) HELP! My model has this weird looking gloss to it!! A: In the "Material Editor", change the reflection value from the default 100 to 0. 6) How do I create a Normal map? A: There are a few programs that will automatically create a Normal map from your basic texture. One if them is available on Nvidia's website if you are using Photoshop. 7) My model exported with no errors but I see nothing A: Verify that you assigned the correct material. See question 4, answer 1. 8 ) What version of 3D Studio Max do I need? A) The plugins work with 3D Studio Max 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 Only 64bit versions are supported. Q/A for Modelviewer: 1) What is the Modelviewer? A) Modelviewer is a way to visually see how your model will appear in the game engine without actually having to start the game. 2) What are the requirements? A) The only requirement is a x64 based system. 3) I have a 32bit system. Why am I unable to run it? A) The standalone version of Modelviewer only contains 64bit binaries. 4) I get an error saying that the file JConfigurator.dll is missing. What is happening? A) You have a broken early build. Uninstall and install build 59511 or later. 5) Can I test arguments in Modelviewer? A) Yes. Make sure Modelviewer is full screen. Towards the top right, change the value in the field "Arg #" to the argument you desire. The top middle of the screen to see the animation limits. 6) What are the other controls for Modelviewer? A) Holding the left mouse button rotates the camera. Holding the right mouse button zooms in and out. 7) Help! I get "Warning Missing Texture" in place of my texture!! A) Put your textures in \Bazar\TempTextures of your Modelviewer install. 8 ) Help! I get an error MSVCR100.dll being missing. A1) Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) package: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632 A2) If this still does not help, you may need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 9) I get this message: "WARNING NGMODEL: Model 'vfs:///models//model.edm' uses old format, convert please." Hello all, I noticed that i have never told you about Sim2T.A.R.G.E.T my Thrustmaster TTM file genrator. This software generates TTM files (to be used with T.A.R.G.E.T software) directly from your keystrokes files from your simulators. It's compatible with DCS products, FSX, IL2, Falcon 4 (not tested with last BMS version) you can download it on Checksix website1 point

Although I bought DCS A-10C when it was released, I haven't had the time to get into it until a few days ago. I think it's very good and the modern systems make it a lot more effective (smth like a slow F-16 :) ), and the attacks a lot easier. I would have preferred the A-10A though, since I grew up during the cold war (regression to childhood :) ). So that's the A-10 I'd like to fly in DCS level of detail, having the now "backup systems" as main systems, sitting in the old cockpit and relying on the force instead of the sniper pod! :D After the long intro, it's time to get to the point. Since all this work has been put to the A-10C and we have a very good flight model, the backup systems are there, etc, how easy would it be for ED to implement an A-10A based on the work they've done on the C? If it's feasible I'd sure buy it, but it probably wouldn't be worth the time for just one customer would it? So I thought I'd add a poll to this, to see how many people would also like the A-10A and would buy it, even if they bought the C. Finally, as some friends have said, I can fly the C with the new systems turned off, or fly the A in FC2. Well, flying the C with the systems off is not the same. Flying the A in FC2 is obviously also not the same, which is one of the reasons I preferred the Su-25 in FC, which had a better flight model and made your life harder (ie. forced you to "fly" in a more realistic manner). But that's how we sim-masochists like it isn't it? :D1 point

Which is exactly why I mentioned that I hope that DCS Flying Legends: P-51 breaks the mold set by every other WWII "sim" I have ever had the misfortune to waste my time in. Yes, I know it's not a WWII sim-yet- but one day it could be :)1 point

Eponsky_bot при всем уважении - лучше летай в онлайне, посоздавай сложные ОНЛАЙН мисси,а не на форуме пиши, если не понимаешь зачем инструмент (про который тут уже разжевали), то зачем постить ни очем, очки постов чтоли набираешь? Кjгда сделаешь 4-6 сложных взаимосвязанныз миссий и запустишь сервер круглосуточный, вот тогда может что то начнешь понимать. Летают на закрыиых серврерах достаточно много. Мы вот тоже свой сервак спрятали - достали квакеры и ошибка движка из-за валежки по сети (менять движок нет смысла, ждем ГС3). Так что наличие инструмента не говорит о постоянном его использовании. Да и почти 60-70% серьезных, особенно сквадовых, серверов в сети (не только ДКС, но и АРМЫ, РОФ и т.п.) запаролены. А дурным оставшихся серверов хватает.1 point

@nom that is correct. since he is using a WH. all buttons need to be off to program it in TS also. not sure if it has to be that way in TARS1 point

Nope....TARS will transmit over the correct radio in TS3 by holding the button, provided you mapped it correctly in the TARS control panel. If i hold mic switch forward it xmits over VHF am...mic switch down xmits over UHF...mic switch aft xmits over VHF FM. I also use the pinky switch as a modifier to get to the ingame menus but this is mapped within DCS. I cleared all the mic switch commands within DCS so that TARS/TS3 is priority on my WH Hotas mic switch and like I said above ingame menus now require the pinky switch as the modifier and then the mic switch to select the correct radio. I love TARS...its about as realistic as you can get.. Thank You Headspace for an awesome program!!!!1 point

В А-10 появилась возможность выбирать место бортов на стоянке. Если будут делать несколько запароленых бортов специально для сквада, будет возможность разместить всё звено на одной стоянке, чтобы они сразу стартовали вместе, а не собирались уже после взлёта. Также можно реализовать единый окрас для самолётов сквада. Кроме того, это лишь одно из возможных применений пароля на слот. После выхода CA можно сделать пароль на место командира, можно делать пароль на "очень-очень важные ЛА" (условно можно взять Су-27 с ядерной бомбой:)). Если говорить о пароле на коалицию - он нужен для вылетов формата "сквад против всех". Ещё один вариант - специальные задания в миссии, которые могут выполнить только организованное звено. Например, сопроводить Ту-22 до цели. В брифинге прописано - задание выполняется звеном Су-27, пароль на слоты такой-то. Те, кто брифинг не читают, и летают просто так, в эти слоты даже не зайдут. Если же найдутся 4 вирпила, готовые сделать организованный вылет, они смогут занять 4 запароленных борта и попробовать довести Ту-22 до цели. Когда дело дойдёт до динамических кампаний, пароль на коалицию будет необходим, чтобы никто не мог подсмотреть брифинг чужой коалиции. Так что подобная фича даёт достаточно солидное количество разных возможностей, чтобы иметь право на жизнь. Какой ещё языковой барьер? Есть русскоязычные сервера, есть англоязычные. Если же на одном сервере сойдутся наш и зарубежный сквад, они зайдут за разные коалиции, им знание чужих языков не понадобиться.1 point

Yes, you do an excellent job! You see all the tiny things on the ground which look sometimes kind'a unfinished. Just like to mention all the ground mods you've changed in FC2. The Read Me file is a precise instruction which is important nowadays. Thanks Mustang!1 point
