That bad boy is 12ft with three projectors, primarily just for driving 737s, but works nicely with DCS. Only downside is need to successfully rob banks to pay for the setup :)

Belated reply on the visual discussion, and apologies if it has been covered already, but I can personally vouch for the curved screen with three projectors, its a very very immersive experience.

2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x
bnepethomas replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've recently been there done that, first upgraded to a 1080 and didn't see the FPS move, upgraded to a 7700, and wow what a difference. -
Hi Guys Just a quick note of thanks for the awesome add-on, installed and worked like a treat first time. (using it for Huey in both DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0 beta) Cheers Peter

Just an FYI - the seller still has stock of the Magnetic switches, and the price is truly a bargain. Mine arrived a couple of days ago in good nick. They ship to a range of countries. Cheers Peter

Thanks for sharing this Hans - my Wallet has just been suitably depleted in Prep for a Hornet build :) Cheers Peter

nice to see - keep up the good work. Cheers Peter

Nice work John, its the mother of all challenges!
-
Seconded - It looked real good, an amazing sense of speed!

Pretty much, the outer diameter ideally matches the diameter of the base of the knob (makes it easier to correctly center, and the inner hole matches the diameter of the shaft of the rotary/pot.
-
on the drilling holes thing, one solution I have seen is a metal rod, approx 50mm long and around 20mm i diameter with the center drilled out. The the base of the knob of top of the rod and drill away.

Hi Guys On the Syncho side of things, Henkie from Viperpits has managed to put together a working solution http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,9661.0.html Cheers Peter

I can fully back up up the limitation of 20 (perhaps less). I tore my hair out trying to work out what was wrong earlier in my build (thinking 127 USB devices was the limit), only managed to get it stable by adding another USB controller.

Thanks for the pointers - time to spend a little more money :)

Hi Guys Another approach is to use white acrylic and paint it with either a Matt Black or Satin black. Some piccies here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107808&page=12 I used three layers, the bottom used black acrylic with both switches and backlighting leds mounted on it, middle is a spacer for hiding the switch nuts along with holes for the led lighting to pass, and then the top layer is white acrylic. What was a little interesting was the experience of different paint manufacturers, the cheaper ones did not come up as well as a good quality quick dry. Cheers Peter

Very nice work there, and couldn't agree more, OLEDs are definitely the way to go, and check out OverPros sketch etc for driving steppers, that has worked well for me. What was the trick you've used for painting the green/yellow/red around the engine gauges... its something I'm yet to master :) Cheers Peter

Thanks for sharing - I'd thought about building just such a tool, you'd saved me a bunch of time! Cheers Peter -
Nice work sir

Not yet - but is definitely part of my evil Hornet plan once the 737 is out the hanger door! cheers Peter

Looking very smooth!

Mine at 3 lots of 3mm, top is white painted black, and then lasered, lower two are black. Just the right depth to deal with the nuts on the toggle switches. Cheers Peter

For what you get they are reasonably priced, given you are a little ways from Melbourne in Oz it would be worth dropping them a line. They now have consumer versions which are much more friendly to the back pocket. http://www.ckas.com.au/6dof_low_cost_systems_62.html Cheers Peter

Hi Craig I have had LOMAC working with a CKAS 2dof, its pretty cool. At the time I was just using orientation mode with my bodgy code. Since them have upgraded to a CKAS 6dof which gives an amazing experience if flying Helicopters. Currently CKAS doesn't have a native DCS interface, but it would well be worth asking them if they are up for it. I can't fault CKAS for quality or service. Cheers Peter
