There are two folders inside my Saved Games DCS folder... Config, and Input Commands. (Input commands MIGHT be from a mod that adds more logical keybinding options to all the LUA files.) What I'm looking to know is how to backup pretty much everything important, game settings, joystick and keyboard bindings, mods, skins, etc, in case I have a major crash. I'm starting to think it's my entire Saved Games DCS folder!

I have created some confusion here. In my original post, I suggested that you make a mission with two Apaches in it, and equip them with fuel tanks. And run through the steps. The original failure was discovered by 6 of us in a mission, DesertStormPractice.mix, made by one of the folks we were doing a mission with and hosted on my dedicated server. When we tried to set up the fuel page, we all got the XFER failure message as shown in my track file above. Afterward I read some posts here, I followed my suggested steps and created the FuelFollies mission, and to my surprise R AUX XFER works just fine. I don't know what is different in that mission versus the one I made using the steps from the original post. And it now appears that you (NeedzWD40) are now able to get the XFER to work in the DesertStormPractice mission, even though six of us got the failure, and still get the failure each time we run the mission. Could it possibly have something to do with the dedicated server it's running on? Even though just moments ago, to make the track files, I ran the missions by clicking MISSIONS on the DCS menu, chose MY MISSIONS, and loaded each file from that dialog. It's all very confusing on my end here...

It's worth noting that there were six of us in the Desert Storm Practice mission, all of us got the R AUX XFER failure. Upon changing the mission to use HOT starts instead, the R AUX was successful after the change to HOT starts for every aircraft in the mission.

Two tracks for you. The failed one from the Desert Storm practice mission And the successful one from the FuelFollies mission R AUX XFER Fail.trk R AUX XFER Success.trk
-
But R AUX DOES work in both HOT and COLD starts in the mission I'm attaching to this post, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. FUELFOLLIES.miz
-
Yeah, 230 gallons were set in the Fuel page right before clicking on R AUX. NO EFFECT. It still doesn't work. The R AUX does not work in the mission I'm attaching to this post You will get R EXT XFER FAIL caution DESERT_STORM_PRACTICE.miz

Make a mission with two Apaches in it. One of them Hot Start with a fuel tank on the inboard pylon, either side Set the other to Cold Start with matching fuel tank setup. Enter your external fuel quantity of 230 gallons, and you can not select R AUX or L AUX on the fuel page if you are in the Cold Start slot. However you can select either in the Hot Start slot.

@ImC4mper Wow, old topic in a forum that probably never gets read... But you want to look into a program called LotATC. https://www.lotatc.com/

cannot reproduce Cursor still gets stuck on edge of the screen

Yes, if it misses, I just flick it twice again, and it moves to the other MPD. -
cannot reproduce Cursor still gets stuck on edge of the screen
Antix70 replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
When I get the cursor at the edge, I "double press" the TDC in the direction I want it to go, and it swaps MPD's instantly. -
Not how it works for me, and I've never used TARGET for anything other than shutting off the LED's on the throttle. I don't know how to make programs, and I've never tried. It's a straight up DirectX input right into Windows stick. Can't explain why yours is otherwise.

Ok, setting the hat to be 8W fixed this button canceling. The problem is now with Discord. In Discord's "Keybinds" section, I have two buttons mapped to "PUSH TO MUTE", so that when I transmit in game to SRS by pressing my PTT button for either of the two radios, currently button 3 (forward) and 4 (right) on my hat, this prevents double transmitting to Discord. Because I have a PTM set to both buttons 3 and 4 , if I press button 3 and off-axis toward button 4, the PTM will stop muting. If I off-axis toward button toward button 6 (left), it does not stop muting.

The Trustmaster hats do not have this problem. If you push a 4 way hat in a given direction on a TM stick, it is generally locked in that direction until you release it. NOT the case with the virpil, they act more like the 8 way hats on the TM, which can "roll" around to other buttons much easier.

In my case, I've upgraded from a Thrustmaster Warthog stick and base. I went through all my axis and button mappings and saved them to <module>.axis.diff.lua and <module>.buttons.diff.lua files for each of my modules. Then I connected the Virpil base/TM stick and imported all the files accordingly. Some imported just fine, like the F/A-18, which loaded the buttons and curves correctly, whereas the Apache nothing imported, button mapping was lost, as well as axis assignments and curves were lost. Am I missing something here? Asking on some discord channels, I'm told that because of how ED built the mapping system, importing settings from an old stick to a new stick wouldn't work at all, regardless of module. Obviously not 100% true, since the Hornet kept its mappings. Should it be this hard to upgrade hardware?

I changed it to that after the screenshot, it's now as you show. But it still cancels button 3 if I move the hat slightly to one side or the other, causing my voice transmissions to cut off.
-
It's doing some really strange stuff. If I press forward only, it lights up buttons 2 and 3, if I off-axis slightly to the right, button 4 will also light up, and PTT will cease. I really only want button 3 when I press forward, why two is being pressed as well, I don't know.

I have the side thumb 4-way hat set to PTT for the various radios/discord PTT. I noticed the other day that if I, for this example, push forward on the hat to transmit, if the switch moves in any lateral direction while depressed, the switch will release until it's centered again. I opened the virpil config software and confirmed this to happen on ALL of the 4 or 8 way hat switches. Is this a problem with my particular grip? Or do others experience this as well? This does not happen with my TM joystick/throttle, pushing a hat in a given direction and then deflecting slightly left or right does not cause it to release, or stop sending signal. Is this something that can be fixed in the software? I'm not very familiar with how that thing works.

One pitfall it has for users of WMR, you need to Valve Index tracking cubes, not included with the headset.

https://store.bigscreenvr.com/products/bigscreen-beyond Since I consider a bunch of you smarter than me, help me out here, in DCS; what will be the pitfalls vs benefits of this new VR headset coming out Q3 2023. I'm a ReverbG2 user, so I'd likely us the thing with the audio head strap. Also with G2, I'm very used to Windows Mixed Reality and the ease of use that comes with that (I could be wrong about ease of use, but it's all I've ever known thanks to the HP being the great value it is/was) So lets hear it from the VR hivemind here!

They make models specific to whichever headset you have. What I meant by "used them" I mean I also used VR Optician when I purchased a set for my G2. I did not attempt to use the quest lenses on my G2, not to mention my wife and I have different eye problems.

Selling my Thrustmaster HOTAS base. I bought this because my current base was getting loose in the gimbal, but I've gotten used to it. It's brand new, never been plugged in, but I no longer have the box for it. but it will be expertly packed and shipped via USPS flat rate box. $115 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48. Paypal Goods ONLY, no Venmo, no crypto, no friends and family.

I used VR Optician for my wife's oculus, and she loves them. However, when I used them for my G2, I basically use readers to see my monitor and read with, and I was in some strange zone where they just didn't work. After taking photos through the lenses with some graph paper to show them whatever they were looking for, they determined they would take them back. But would only refund 50% of my purchase price, and shipping back to Germany would be more than half the cost of the lenses, so I just tossed the $85 into the trash can.
