  1. Ahh, I was unaware of that. I've never taken controls in the front seat with George sitting in the back seat, only when I've had a multiplayer human back there.

  3. It's not exactly easy mode if I want to switch to a gunner position, but still give flight input. And yeah, feel free to just not use features you don't like.

  5. I just say "Direct to Waypoint 3" and Voice Attack does all the work in less than a second. Do yourself a favor and spend the $10 and get Voice Attack. You can even make the command "George, set a course for Waypoint Three" if it makes you feel better about the CPG doing all the work Things I can do by voice...
  6. The Flight Engineer has multiple stations. There's a 4th station if you manage to open the trap door. RCtrl+[ and RCtrl+] Position 6 is a not yet implemented position, I believe, probably a ramp gunner.
  7. MUCH preferred the old way. I mean, it was that way for TWO YEARS.
  8. I forget where I heard it, but if the 5TH digit is above 5, you round up the 4TH digit. So if it's 81037, you'd input 8104 into the KU. If it's 81032, you'd just input 8103. Just what I heard, so it's something I've always done, and it works in my experience.
  9. Ohhh, it would be awesome if many of the things we have to do to DCS were just options in the DCS Options settings. Like 2K Apache/other aircraft/object textures. SceneVR.lua settings to change the aircraft in the hangar or even the hangar to something else, mod management similar to how ARMA handles them (built in Open Mod Manager/OVGME/etc), the list goes on!

  11. Yup. A few versions back, many things on the COMM panel stopped responding to keyboard and joystick binds. I use a voice attack command for ICS PTT and ICS VOX, the mapping in Adjust Controls has not changed, it just no longer works.   12. Agreed. If you ask ED, they'll tell you WIP, Work In Progress, which is true, it just came out, and to be honest, the capabilities thus far are more than I expected.
  13. BUMP! These issues are still present. I'm using a Virpil control panel, which has rotaries with depress. You can press to mute, but not press to unmute. I have the depress bound to the mute/unmute toggle, but it only works to mute. ICS switch keybinds are still ignored, I have them bound to keyboard buttons, but both PTT and VOX bindings are ignored. The knobs on the Virpil control panel are encoders, and I have them mapped to CW and CCW bindings for radio volume, and it seems that DCS ignores input intermittently from the encoder, so you end up turning the encoder more than the knob turns in the cockpit. Not sure if that's related.

  17. You have to map the trap door binding. You hold that binding to open it, but only need to click it to close it. The lower hatch and hook will not open and deploy until you've selected a cargo from the All Cargos menu. I haven't tried that yet
  18. There's 3 regular positions with the hatch closed. Front between the pilots, center over the hook trap door, and lastly at the ramp. If the trap door is open, you have a 4th position, which is head in the hole. In your video you noted the difficulty of trying to use the Flight Engineer while piloting, this is solved with Bob engaged, inputting subtle movements with the stick and collective. Also, when the ramp controls get implemented, it will be easier to access them from the flight engineers position at the ramp.
  19. Funny you should ask, it was one of the first things I tried with my group! I climbed out of my Apache, walked up to the ramp, and felt really disappointed that I could go no further.

  21. I am in VR. I just went onto our server and tried my idea out. You can control the aircraft from the flight engineers hook position. There are also TWO positions at the hook, one standing over it, and one with your head in the hole. With BOB enabled control is greatly stabilized, I can gently control the aircraft with my stick. Forward and backward are obvious, right is rotate a/c right, left is rotate a/c left, collective tells Bob to lower or raise the a/c. I have not found if we can translate left or right over the cargo, so it's a dance of turns and forwards and backwards to get over it. You can also enable the Cargo Indicator, and it will show you where you are over the cargo so you can submit the right stick inputs to get over it, I was in perfect position to lift, but was too high, so I lowered my collective a bit, and Bob started to descend, and my hook attached, I pulled up on the collective, and we got tension, then lift. And off we went.
  22. Can you "suggest" movement to Bob (with Bob engaged of course) from the Flight Engineer position while standing at the trap door?
  23. I just got the PS5 Dualsense controller, and none of the buttons stay pressed for as long as I'm pressing them. The trigger, for example I have it set to lase, and it stays on for two seconds and shuts off. Any ideas?
