  1. Think it has something to do with CE certification. One guys OD got stopped in customs and they say something about that. Not sure why. One store does sell it (the original) here in Norway but they want 900 euro. Good luck with that...
  2. Sometimes it works a d it keeps working and sometimes you loose the mouse everytime you take the hmd on and off. Annoying as hell. Start the game. Keep the hmd on, alt tab find the keys and press win y with the hmd down on your head
  3. Might be if you don't have the issues I do you wouldn't see any difference. Only thing I can think of. I didn't think they did anything ( transparency works without actually overriding any AA setting but dont work with hdr or deferred) either apart from texture filtering quality
  4. Some examples of how it should look Assuming the full screen ones are taken from mirror view Watch from about 47:10 See the menu text perfectly clean white. same with labels in the cockpit. For me all this shimmers like crazy all the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhF_mPk07WY Vr KA 50. where my gauges will flicker and be all over the place here its completely fine with maybe a a hint of shimmer Same here, no issues. Hornet. Here my engine power is pretty much boiling at all times and the green text on the over the map is noisy as hell. Cant see anything here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhF_mPk07WY
  5. Not much of them do and ive had to disable HDR (not 100% sure on the HDR its enabled and i get the transparency fix but if its disabled or not i im not sure, it dont work with HDR in X plane but i could be due to teh SSA they use over MFAA) and/or Deferred so i guess its somewhat true. The in game SSAA is supposed to anti alias the full screen including transparency (if i understand it correctly, its a bit hard to find proper info on) but i honestly see zero difference in the image quality when i put it to 2x in DCS. It essentially has no effect other than using gpu power that i see. Maybe 2x just isnt enough for it. Since it does use resources something must be happening but i cant see it. Regular PD also has marginal to no effect on these jaggies unless you put the TrSSAA to 8x.
  6. I apologize if this is a bit of a double post but bear with me. A while back i started to get this jagged edge/shimmer issue after a reinstall and no amount of AA fixes it. Ive reinstalled lots of different windows and driver version. Hw changes, Ryzen, intel amd, nvidia, etc Windows 1709 showed some better results on vertical lines but steamVR refuse to work on that version to i cant really check it that only works in the corner on 1803. You will see what i mean in the first video Ive been looking at it again and discovered it has 100% to do with some transparency AA issue (perhaps in combination with mipmapping) thats not being correctly applied. I have never enabled Transparency AA in my life and have never had any issues with this kind of flickering/shimmer. Transparency AA does not seem to work with HDR (i can keep HDR on in 2.5.0 but feels like it forces it off when transparency i set on in control panel) Does not work with deferred shading Enabling 8x SS transparency supersampling in control panel/inspector and my sims looks about what they did before. The severe boiling(shimmer feel is greatly reduced (almost gone) using 4xMSAA and 8x SS transparency. So the big question is, why? X plane was fine with 2x AA and FXAA. DCS used to be just fine at 2x This sadly is only a work around. Looks like there is some issue in windows itself. Id like to fly the Hornet but seeing as i got this issue and only deferred shading is available im a bit ****ed. This is 2.5.3 with only deferred shading available. Its a little hard to see but things are far better with the transparency AA on
  7. Not getting anywhere with it but here's a video summary. If only it was a simple AA fix...
  8. Using this one from Leo bodnar http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=180&zenid=b1b1f2a375d5195254891eb92b8dbbcc I got the Collective, anti torque and stick connected + some button boxes
  9. Big difference on WH and Virpil in weight. If you are going to pay that much for a stick i would just mod a different grip like the Virpil or a plastic F16 one. The WH is such a bitch to mod extensions due to its weight for helicopter flying and any FFB stick, inertia and so on. It will be a far easier and better experience
  10. 2 more vids. HMD lying on desk game on pause. In some way the shimmering is always moving for some reason. IF it were completely still there wouldnt be an issue but now its always in your face Bit hard to see here but if you watch the brown shelves you can see when i look directly at them it will start shimmering black/white. When i look away its fine.
  11. Got to test with a Rift. Same issues. Really just feels like the pixels are boiling. Tried a lot of combinations. Even at pd 2.5 4x aa 2x ssaa there's not really any difference on the boiling pixels issue. Should get a full Ryzen system a vega 64 and a gtx 1060 in a day or two for further testing though. On another note the Rift seems to have gotten quite more clear since i last tried it and apart from the lesser FOV feel its pretty close to the Odyssey
  12. Appreciate the comment but I do not see the point of it. Getting this kind of shimmer flicker or? Like on the text on this this
  13. See the build post : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191114&page=3
  14. I could probably do this without removing quite a bit of the plastic now but i think you would need to remove a tiny bit in the center so it wont touch the edges. . I happen to have another without any damage to it so i might switch it over once i am 100% sure ill keep it. I may also ditch it completely and mod it with a Dual ms ffb2 setup for more FFB strength and make a custom enclosure. I never use the buttons but its easy enough to reroute them to a box or something with some soldering. I will be putting them back on so they will work as normal. The cable can be put in the center of the shaft too All this said my mom prefers my bro to come help with things that needs to look good haha, i dont have the patience and dont care so much about the final look :p
  15. Interesting. I have been looking at those adjustable ones myself but id have to make a custom gimbal like you. Will probably do it at some point cause i enjoy building things. How light can you get those things? I tried to sort out a bracket system for the MS ffb but the plastic gimbal has to much flex sadly. Both need to be connected to the center rod
  16. For the dampers i am using pocket bikes steering dampers. While great for my Anti torque pedals with 1 i find them much to strong for the stick setup. I drilled a lot of rubber seals out and replaced the oil to get them right. Had to fill in with electric tape inside instead of the rubber there too. Its also very hard to get them equal this way so i would not use them for the Cyclic unless its a heavy one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Midi-Moto-Minimoto-Pocketbike-Steering-Damper-Kit-Blue-Midibike-Racing-Bike/192374434974?hash=item2cca68ec9e:g:-csAAOSwY~1Z6g66:rk:1:pf:0 I am have some 65mm 1/10 scale on the way myself but im also interested in these as they look like the oil goes out into these containers trough a tube. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RC-Piggyback-Hydraulic-Shock-Absorber-Springs-Shocks-for-1-10-Rock-Crawlers-Car/223034560752?var=521843722047 I got some plans today of attaching bot dampers to the Gimbal . the X i can do fairly easy but the Y needs to get a bracket so both will be completely independent. You can get the general idea here. I want to get the damper throw as small as possible which in turn gives more leverage and perhaps some less stickiness from the dampers. If they do at all. For this stick currently like mentioned it feels great. Dont really notice the slight movement of the other dampers when moving in just one axis but ill sort it with the bracket etc nonetheless. I initially thought the damper was a bit weak but turned out not to be the case. Dampers only, the stick feels great! It also feels great with FFB (not much difference in feel but you got forces) but the springback and forces are a little reduced so it wont go back to perfect center all the time but almost. I would not have used this stick without the dampers. It makes a big difference in the stick feel. I can fly with just finger pressure with either or both on.
  17. I have WH and Cougar. The grips are waaaaaay to heavy, a big mess with counterweights. Done it and finished with that.. (if you are using springs in the stick its not an issue but im a helo pilot) I could have gone with the Virpil as i have the WH but their base does not suit me and i intend to sell the WH. VKB has a friction control on theirs which looks great and is what i need for helicopters. Depends a little how happy i will be with the Damper mod on the FFB now really. I may go with the Virpil grip instead and keep the WH. I got a bit of time to decide. OR well they tend to be sold out on VKB and Virpil, could be a long time
  18. Threw together this mod on my FFB2 It does have a voltage mod for double strength but i see with the dampers it would be great with the dual FFB2 mod as the springback is a bit weak. I have an extra so that will be a future project. It will get a VKB MCG grip on a later date. Finished for now but ill be attaching the X axis directly to the X axis gimbal later so they are completely independent of each other Enjoy, i love it! A few closeups WIP in this post https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191114&page=2
  19. Was due to a little play in the pot holes inside the gimbal so i fixed that
  20. Some WIP Drilled trough the stick and attached a threaded rod then bent it. Sadly i was stupid enough to grab my extension while bending the rods and broke the rod so ive had to sort that.. argh Added the pocket bike dampers these are drained and replaced with nyogel 767A due to stickiness but they are just to weak now IMO and cant hold the stick on the outer edges. I plan to make the stick have less throw anyway so its not a big deal but could be an issue when the VKG grip comes. Might need some modding and i got some other dampers on order but i suspect the could be to small and a little weak too but they cost like 3£ so not a biggie. For now this will do great Will be using the holed bands to add stability to the rods sticking out of the plastic and will be using nuts so i can adjust the tension up and down. Should give enough stability.
  21. Going to RMA it just to be sure but its a bit of a hassle as its second hand. Given what i can find on the issue with others though it probably wont do a thing but you gotta try everything
  22. Managed to get it working, had to exit DCS first. When i get the VKB handle and some dampers on this it will be the perfect stick!
  23. I have done every HW change reseat OC reset, defaults uninstall reinstall combination possible really so im at a total loss. I can only observe it in videos when its half size here though. I also see it outside of VR in DCS its just 10 times worse in VR.
