So probably being thick but do I need to create a folder called "F14B_Cockpit" and then put the "textures" in there and rename "Textures" to "Default"?
-
Do you start the game from within quest or the desk top? Up until a couple of patches ago I used to start within quest, no I have to start DCS via the desk top. Maybe completely unrelated but worth a try?

Some more personal opinion on f14's refueling and kc135's speed
WinOrLose replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
NATOPS suggests 240knts at 40' wing sweep as optimal. I actually find the S-3 the most "difficult" in the B as the engines are so powerful you can get too close really quickly even with moderating the throttles. I still maintain the key is to get trimmed out in the observation position and when moving into final position concentrate on the pod not the drouge. -
Some personal opinion on f14's flight model during refueling
WinOrLose replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I find putting in a bit of effort to match speed and trim while in the observation left position pays huge dividends. Once properly trimmed and matching speed throttle back slightily to slide back into position then throttle back up to just over the previous setting to slowing bring you back to the basket. -
If that's in VR then I need a new headset.
-
Thanks - I have not noticed the trim up on the last couple of flights, maybe one of the patches messed with it? Maybe the same thing with DLC, NATOPS suggests that deploying DLC on speed should not result any any pitch change but I'm getting a definite nose down.
-
So just to clarify - should we see the trim physically change in the dial as I'm not seeing that?
-
Cheers - I'll take a look at the trim guage next time - my eyes are usually elswhere.
-
In the NATOPS manual (B) it references an Integrated Trim System, The ITS is incorporated to eliminate longitudinal trim changes caused by the extension and retraction of flaps and speedbrakes. At present when extending flaps you need to counter with about 5' of pitch down, I accept it doesnt reference DLC, but this then requires approx 2' pitch up. It makes for fun and games for the wingman in a pairs recovery. Is there anychance of this system being implemented? Thanks.

+1 even with graphics set to max it is very gard to read in VR.

What are the chances of adding land based IFLOLS/MOVLAS for field carrier landing practice?

Natops Pocket Checklist for A Model
WinOrLose replied to Komischervogelfreak's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hey buddy - sorry for the delay. Just had a quick look and I have the tactical pocket book for the A, and the full pocket book for the B. This link also has some documents on the A model MEGA -
I find the majority of times his clock position calls are way off - he has called 3'oclock when the bandit has been at 9'oclock for example.
-
A lot of them are modelled and if you follow what is modelled the start up will take a good 20 minutes.

Natops Pocket Checklist for A Model
WinOrLose replied to Komischervogelfreak's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I have one but its about 53mb - if you want to PM me some contact details I can wetransfer or something. I also have the B model at about 3mb. Regards -
Update - they worked in flight but not on the ground.
-
Following the latest path the thumb wheel control of the manuevre flaps no longer appears to be working. The keybind (uses the same as DLC, which is working) but manual control of the manuevres is not. This was the same for my buddy.

Was a little tongue in cheek - add whatever music you like or leave as is.
-
It comes with a default soundtrack, but you can must replace it with your own files.
-
Not sure but the largest song file I have is 10meg.
-
Try a maneuver flap take off from the field and problem solved - you need about 10knts more speed but they retract automatically.
-
That's fine and I was in your camp but I can absolutely assure you I haven't added a photo and have never been on facebook since the day of registration and have had the headset a year.
-
No photograph - I just added the minimum information needed to create the account and have never used FB since. Like others say just as much, if not more, gets collected by your phone, alexa, google etc etc.

I was in the same place regarding facepalm but to be honest you make an account and forget about it. If you are worried they are tracking you then you need to get rid of every electronic device you own and go and live in a cave. I have found the Quest 2 pretty decent and perfect for a entry into VR. This guy https://www.youtube.com/c/VRFlightSimGuy does quite a few reviews of the various headsets and settings, though mostly MSFS, there are a few on DCS and some of the settings etc are quite useful.
