  1. Well, I didn’t follow the development very closely, so I’m quite happy with what I saw in the video. Looks like this could really be a 2023 release date. Now I just need time to learn this baby, especially since I get to build and use a A320 simulator as part of my new job.
  2. Since Virpil ships from Lithuania, which is part of the EU, I didn’t pay any customs at all since I live in Germany. The joys of the common market. Tax for me was the usual German VAT, which is 19%. But this doesn’t depend on Virpil but on the tax rules of your country.
  3. My order arrived yesterday, much faster than expected. So now finally I’ve got that T-50 stick to go with my collective. And it’s glorious! Controlling the Apache or the Huey is almost ridiculously simple with my Virpils. I’ll never go back to Thrustmaster. I’m sure you’ll love it!
  4. I see I’m not the only one. Love the Huey and feel very much at home in it but the Apache felt… sluggish. However I’m sure it’s really the pilot aka me who’s sluggish. Takes time to get to know the beast, I guess.
  5. Server seems to be going down. Well, I'll use the time to practice violin.
  6. Do you own the Syria map?
  7. Boy, massive update. 35 GB download. I wonder how much the Apache is. Other big thing that comes to mind is the Syria map expansion.
  8. Woohoo! Updating!
  9. SkateZillas Utility?
  10. Cold start, taking off, crashing.
  11. I'll use the corner buttons for the sixth button plus the favourites button too. And additionally shift modifiers on the corner buttons. This way I'll have direct access to the 3 FABs I'll probably use more often (WPN, FCR, TSD), the other 3 will be shifted. BRT, VID etc. will also be shifted on the corners. Should work just fine.
  12. About 4 to 6 weeks. Virpil billed my card 11 days after ordering, because they only charge you when your order is manufactured. About 2 weeks later my order was shipped, so I had to wait exactly 4 weeks. Now I'm waiting for my MongoosT grip. Another 4 weeks... really should have ordered it together with the other stuff.
  13. Shipping was even faster than I’d been told initially. And Virpils customer service is absolutely great.
  14. Why do I have to think of my kids in former days: „Are were there yet?“…
  15. Let me guess: You’ve got this in your clipboard and just paste it whenever applicable. So, every third thread in this sub-forum.
  16. OPPOTATO has created a nice profile for using the Cougars. Myself I’ve adapted this a bit and think it’ll be very usable.
  17. Tbh it was the Huey that decided things for me. I‘ve so much fun learning to fly helos in general that I’ll use the hell out of my collective even if I decide I don’t like the Apache. After all there’s also the Kiowa in the works and the BO-105, too.
  18. Whatever the problems were, I’m grateful to PC that they persevered. Both the coding of Kiowa and Gazelle don’t seem motivated by money. With the amount of negative feedback for the Gazelle nobody could have found fault with PC if they’d simply closed shop. Of course it’s absolutely ok to point out bugs and ask for a fix. But the way part of the criticism was offered was quite over the top. So I’ll just wait patiently for the Kiowa and be happy that PC seem on track again.
  19. My order was delivered day before yesterday. Had to adapt a little bit to get the collective mounted on my chair. Yesterday I took my first flight. Oh boy. This Virpil stuff is a real gamechanger for me. Build quality is outstanding (and I’m very demanding), the collective is absolutely excellent but what shines most for me is the MongoosT base with 20cm extension. Hovering and precision control in the Huey is fantastic. And I simply had to order a MongoosT grip for the cyclic. The quality of the Virpil stuff is so outstanding that I needed to replace my Warthog grip.
  20. I like this one very much: and these:
  21. Don’t need to download them. This is exactly what I’m practicing atm.
  22. Can’t really see why anybody would be surprised they didn’t release it today. That was quite clearly communicated. Well, take the Huey or the Blackhawk for a spin. Nice birds and very good practice. I bet most of us will be task saturated within 10 secs of touching any buttons on the Apache. So better brush up your instinctive flying skills.
  23. Great news! And tomorrow or the day after my collective and base plus WH extension from Virpil arrive. Enough time to get everything set up and start getting a feeling with the Huey. Exciting times... well, mostly.
  24. That’s a nice collection. My I rder was already shipped today, should have it within the week.
  25. I simply found out how much I love flying helos. Not that I'm any good at it – yet. I think the estimates from Virpil are quite conservative. I ordered on Feb 14, so it's been exactly 3 weeks. What did you order?
