Repeated crashes in Syria map, PC specs should be fine!
wiwa23 replied to wiwa23's topic in Game Crash
Thanks for your reply. Here is the complete DCS log file. Hope you can help me out. Regards, Wiwa dcs.log -
I fly the Hornet. I have pretty good frames overall, flying online was never an issue, not much stuttering but I get rather unexpected/unannounced crashes, for now only in the Syria map. They happen out of the blue with no signs of apparent pc problems. Just like that the screen goes black, or dcs just freezes and it will close along with Discord (when Discord open). Untill now I only experienced it while flying over the Syria map (using the required 32 RAM). PC runs fine, is professionally build with fine components and only have problems with DCS. I'm excluding myself from squad flying because I'm to independable for the others. But want to resume it. Can anybody help or read the log? Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 3.80 GHz 32GB RAM SSD 2TB drive (sept 2021) 2070S Nvidia Track IR 5 Steps taken so far (in chronological order): - lower settings (seemed to have worked one time?). - driver gpu reinstalled. - dcs repair - dcs cleanup. - fresh install of all mods. - complete uninstalled/reinstalled DCS. - RAM test for 8 hours, no error or high temps found. - CPU stress test for 7 hours, no errors or high temps found. Latest DC log (have more of them): DCS/2.7.10.19402 (x86_64; Windows) G:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\edterrainGraphics41.dll # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at D3DA6775 00:00000000 SymInit: Symbol-SearchPath: '.;G:\DCS World OpenBeta;G:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\system32;SRV*C:\websymbols*https://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols;', symOptions: 528, UserName: 'STUDIO' OS-Version: 10.0.19042 () 0x100-0x1 0x00007FFCD3DA6775 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000001DA6607E348 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x00007FFCD3DA8320 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000001DE9F960788 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x0000007C307FE610 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFE ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 Thanks in advance, Wiwa

Yes, I had the same experience a couple of times. Checked instruments, they were off and even looked outside and saw no AB. I think it is not always synced correctly.

+1 Absolutely agree with this one, it makes no sense the way it is now!

I agree with most of the stuff mentioned above. Me as a very dedicated and thankful user would be ok with a higher fixed price or a subscription-based amount for DCS to be a polished, finished and optimized program. Actually, you can see dcs as a pseudo professional program. But probably under funded to reach these professional status and expectations. A lot of its users expect professional quality given the nature of the branch and the complexities it goes with this. A lot of professional software is (sometimes insanely!) expensive (protools, Cubase, final cut, premiere, photoshop.... prepar3D). Not saying I want insanely expensive software but just saying I would pay a lot more to have my beloved software with equal and linear expectations. Wether that is good for the business or a reachable goal given the niche branche it is remains another question. But man, what I would pay to have DCS with: - optimized (engine)- new engine? - finished (modules) - finished/realistic assets - finished/improved weather and clouds - bug free (or 97% at least) - dynamic campaign - polished in all aspects - ... That would be worth so much! I’d pay hundreds for that! However, still enjoying DCS a lot and thankfull it exists.

It is a great addition to dcs and revolutionary in sim aviation history. This might be the ultimate argument to fly dcs as no other platform is offering this. And...it works! Great work ED!
-
That’s great! And to be honest... rightly so as your mod clearly lifts the module to the well deserved bigger heights! About my issues of installing it...I’ll wait for version 2.0????. Thanks for your work!

Hello, I'm impressed by the upgrade it is in comparison with the original (youtube reference). I do have a problem however. I installed the 2 folders in the stable version in their respective submaps (c-eagle dynamics-DCSWorld-Mods/Coremod-...). But the sounds are very uneven and it appears that I hear the original as well. Is their a cause with the stable version?

So glad someone took this iniative to post a topic that bundles our expressions of gratitude and bring out the positive vibe/feelings it deserves. As a military aviation lover this sim truly is a dream come true. I hoop ED keeps getting the motivation and funds it needs/deserves to fuel their productivity in making this legendary military flightsim.

Yes, the realistic Hotas is so cool. It is the part were you feel like you’re flying the real deal. I love to keep this part as realistic as possible. With dcs we get this option. Furthermore, in the state that the f18 is now it can be flown realistically with real in-depth features and capable of flying almost all the roles it was intended to be flown... Although some features like hud tgp indicator and ground mapping radar are my personal highest ranked features that needs finishing. But boy, this is such a cool module (and others as well....)! I thank dcs daily in my mind that we have the opportunity flying these fighters in such a realistic and satisfying way.

Aha, thanks! I’ll have a good look at this. One more question. If I choose to stay in the stable version, will I get the updates in a week, month or even a year? On average how long does the stable version lay behind the open beta? If it is just a matter if weeks I prefer to stay in stable version. Thank you for your time. Wiwa

Ok, sorry about my log pollution for this thread! I thought wrapping around my log would somehow make it more compact...
-
Ok, I found the log.
-
Thank you for you reply. Much appreciated. Excuse me for my ignorance...were do I get this log? If I choose to stay on beta does this mean I wil get the update in a later stage, like in a few weeks? I thought basic updates for early acces planes are updated frequently, also on stable. But apperently I’m a bit confused in how the stable vs open beta works. I just installed the game from the ed webside and installed all my purchases...

Hello, I looked up several methods online...no succes. 1. Tried via normal automatic game startup. Doesn’t update 2. Tried via windows start/eagle dynamics/update dcs world. Doesn’t update 3. Tried via c/program fileseagle dynamics/dcs world/bin/dcs_updater.exe. Doesn’t update So I’m stuck on v2.5.5.39384. I always get the same message: The installed version 2.5.5.39384 is up to date... Very frustrating!! I don’t have any mods...because i don’t won’t installation problems...ironic isn’t it? Can anybody help? Thanks im advance Wiwa

Hello, I looked it up on google, this forums and watched a lot of tutorials. All the tutorials explain how to input the right frequencies and talk to various assets in the sim. I fly the F18 as my ‘main/specialized plane and wan to know it whole the way including detailed radio’s. I know that there is a new atc coming up, implying that it probably isn’t working correctly at the moment. But I want to make sure and have following questions: 1. What am I doing wrong talking to airfield/tower? Which freq’s do I have to use? Out of the four options with each airfield I choose the upper ones (am, fm....right?). But I tried all the other freq’s as well when things didn’t work. But i know they are for older planes (vhs, ...). But sometimes I just can’t get the airfield/wingmen/flight to respond... I can’t get them to reply my messages in a consist way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t answer. Or is it all broke and should I use ‘simplified radio settings’? Any explenation or help is appreciated. Regards, Wiwa

After checking out I can confirm that this was indeed the right method. Just pressing ok did the trick, instead of saving profiles etc. Switching between planes went ok, each plane ‘remembered’ their own settings. Glad to know it works this way, thanks all for your help!
-
Aha..that would be great! Thank you for the reply... I’ll forget the save and load functions. Gonna experiment with it this evening... I consider the incorrect visual rudder movement in the cockpit just to be a minor bug...I’ll live with this. Again, thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. The game does recognize all my controllers. I do get them to work and use them. But sometimes the game changes my settings. Apparently when i switch some settings or try to load other profiles. What might cause the costum profile files to disappear? The reversed visual cockpit rudder movement is in all aircraft. I reversed the action, they work as they should be, including toe brake, outside visuals match the actual operation. However the cockpit rudder visuals are reversed. But this problem is a little less annoying than the ‘lost profiles’.

Hello, Recently I installed DCS World together with the F18 and FC3. I’m a long time flight simmer but been away for quite some time. Have a long history with Falcon, Flanker, Lomac, BMS and now with some more time, and more importantly a decent pc I got to DCS installed. Love the looks and feel of dcs but I’m really getting frustrated. The proces of getting different profiles to work for different aeroplanes doesn’t seem to work. I have a Hotas cougar, mfg crosswind rudders, 2 thrustmasters cougars mfds and track ir. In the controller setup: I select the plane, I select key/axis option and assign it (and tune the axis when needed). I do this for all the options. Then I save it with a appropriated name (F18 v2 for example). Sometimes i loose my mfd setting for no apparent reason, or some rudder imput is lost. When I want to load my file again sometimes(?) it says ‘file doesn’t exist’. Indeed some files seems to magically disappear from the input folder. Some profiles are there but don’t load completely. An axtra weird thing is that my rudders in the cockpit don’t reflect the movement outside. So i invert rudder to work correct, but the cockpit rudder pedals (visuals) don’t match the outside view/actual working condition. Weird. It frustrates me, beacause I thought what I did seemed to me the most logical steps but somehow it messes with me. If I don’t touch the controllers or don’t switch from plane everything is working (except the reversed cockpit visuals of my rudders). It even holds me of flying any other plane at the moment. I looked it up on the forums, even tried to delete or rename folders but no succes. Is this a common problem with a common solution? Anybody help? Regards and thanks in advance! Wiwa

Can imagine it is ennoying for some people. Certainly because you can't just put it off. I like it actually. For me it adds a little in terms of realism. I can imagine turning my head like this under certain circumstances. And as a bonus I feel that it brings life to the more simple flight dynamics of the f15, a10, su 27/33. But just a matter of taste. Wiwa

Hi Kuky, Now that's interesting! Thank you for your effort. It is appreciated. I won't bother to create brand new scenery files. However I will experiment by omitting some buildings out of the high scenery files. Will Try to get some trees and leave a few buildings. Then I'll crank up the visibility. Still, if this option would be available in the game preferences the playability would increase a lot for a lot of systems. That's my opninion. You could have buildings and trees seen from a realistic distance without the popups or the fading while maintaining good framerates. Of I go... Wiwa
