  1. Am I missing something? The hmcs stops working, I turn the dial and look around and sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. Does it cut off when going to dogfight modes or not. Getting a tad confused with it. Any help would be appreciated.

  5. Yes it is the same for ground take off as well. I tested it after my last positing.
  6. I just finished testing this. Discwalker is correct the INS knob stayed in the CV setting after the auto start was complete. So I turned the knob to NAV and HUD and map switched to the proper headings. In an attempt to see if when the INS needed to be in NAV mode I turned it back to CV then launched from the carrier. This time the flight path indicator shot to the right and the heading were stuck at roughly 170 degrees which was the heading it switched to after turning it to NAV. I took off and switched it to NAV and it did nothing. Both heading and FPI were still stuck. Next test determined that the INS knob MUST be switched to NAV before moving the aircraft. As soon as the auto-start was complete I switched the INS to NAV and left it alone. I launched and all was fine and working. So lesson learned and thank you all for your feed back. Unless the devs change this in the auto-start feature remember this if cold starting the F-18C. TURN the INS to NAV prior to moving the plane. If you start the mission with a hot plane you will be fine. RAMSAY: I don't have the TRACK files I looked for then and it was just 3 old ones from 2018.
  7. I will try this then follow up. I'm sure it will be something as small as this. I just never had this issue before. I am also aware as development progresses there will be more thing we will have to do the won't be setup to be defaulted any longer. I noticed this when I came to arming dumb bombs.

  10. I have recently switched to the open beta version of DCS World. While doing a cold start (AUTO) from the deck of a carrier. When the start up is complete and I taxi over to the catapult, everything is fine. All that needs to be aligned is aligned. As soon as I launch the flight path indicator shoots off the the left of the HUD and stays there along with all heading readings freeze to 000. The same goes for the lower middle map display (no course rotation at all). But if I launch the mission with the plane starting hot all works fine. I have tested this several times with the same results. I would appreciate any input into fixing this.
  11. I just experienced this myself. Could not get the Mavs to go. I kept running through the checklist but no launch. So I just tried flipping switches. After several failed passes I flipped that safe switch to another mode and off the Mav went. I knew that we had to switch it for bombs but now having to do it for the Mavericks now ?????
  12. Very true. But since I just had that issue before I posted and that's how I got it to work again. What a pain in the butt.
  13. I was able to solve the issue with the sidearm and gun pod. The MCPD clearly stated SA and was firing the gun pod. I read the beginning post here and someone mentioned switching to guns while in A2A mode. So I went back into A2A switched to boresight then select A2A gun and back to boresight. This way I now am sure that A2A mode was not left in gun mode. Select the sidearm got a lock on a radar and presto off goes the sidearm missile. Hope this helps.
  14. Don't feel bad I was having the same issue. I found this post then went to check stick setting and saw I set TDC up,down,left,right but forgot to set the depress feature.:thumbup:

  16. Thanks for the reply I will map a AP reset to my controls. Flying in VR so it brings a whole new life to DCS. So mapping out a HOTAS is vital. As far as trimming goes I know these planes required a lot of it. But even the trimming was not helping. I have trim reset mapped out already but it was still having hard time with it. I would have roll pull back than roll back to level. I will look into this tonight. Plus using the HMD in VR is beautiful.
  17. Since the updates on 10-25-2018 and 10-31-2018 update to the non beta version my favorite Mig 29S is having some issues. One I cannot turn off the autopilot. You can see the button moving on the left panel but the light never goes out like the other AP modes do. Secondly it has been almost impossible to bring the nose down during flight. Either high speed or slow. I can even trim the nose all the way down and it still take forever for the nose to go down. This had made it difficult to dive or control a descent for landing without the nose constantly trying to climb. I've done trim reset and everything I can think of to remedy this problem. She rolls left or right fine. And pulls up fine but when your flying low it should not take two mountain tops to bring her nose back down. Please I need help with this since my friends mainly have me fly the 29. I know they're working on a new flight model but didn't think it would effect my version of DCS World with FC3 with all current updates.

  20. Pilot to ground control. I cant find the "R-Ctrl" and "Home" keys to start my plane. In the classroom I had that key. How am I to start the plane without those keys. Ground control to pilot. Welcome to the real world.
  21. Just be glad we have a team producing these Sims for us. Thank you for that. When the enemy has a few thousand pounds of munitions coming his way. Do you think he cares how detailed the tail antenna is. :no: He is hoping is end will come swiftly.:cry: But I do appreciate someone looking into details.
  22. I remember flying the airbase assaults online. One particular one flying a F15 Strike Eagle coming in full burners on a guy getting ready to take off. I released two 6 packs of snake eyes then a gun burst at him. He laughs and says you missed me. Then he looks forward to see a horizon full of what looked like a bunch of ( + ) signs coming right at him. His next comment was oh s#*# I spoke to soon. Then where he once was is 12 craters and one closed runway. Plus they were useful in getting a bandit off your six too. Go low as he is coming in for an easy gun kill. Drop one or two next thing he is getting fragged by shrapnel and one hell of a shockwave.
  23. OMG!!! Can't wait... I am a huge fan of free fall bombs and seeing some of those payloads. LGB's paveways, JDAMS, Mk 82 3 packs oh my. Dropping bombs are like pooping droplets of bad days on someone.
  24. I would like to see some Mk 82 snake eyes drag bombs. I miss the days of jane's fighter anthology in a A-6 intruder fully loaded with them coming in low and fast. Dropping crap load of snake eyes on a poor little AAA site.
  25. I will happily take Roy fokker's VF-1S Veritech fighter any day. With the super armor upgrade.
