Hi Sharpe - Not sure if you posted in this thread by accident? I don't have an SSD, nor have I reinstalled windows! I keep my PC very clean with a registry scanner,adaware, perfectdisk, avg etc etc (all of which get disabled when I play games!) Literally all I did was switch out my old card with the new one and change drivers.

Got it, thanks everybody..parts still not here - very frustrating but at least I'm getting work done! From what I understand... 1: Static proof bag on a hard service, motherboard down, fit cpu and HSF 2: lay pc case on its side and secure motherboard to case 3: install ram and gtx card 4: connect psu to various essentials/connect the small pin connectors to the on button, case lighting etc done??

I think the highlight is when they take crop dusters and put them into FA-18s.. "This is like nothing you've flown before"... Those crop dusters were formation flying with full avionic mastery in minutes! ...Impressive..

Does that extend to modding an independence day space ship and flying up it's arse?! "UP, YOUUUURS" sorry

Thanks - I will check it out. Wish there was some some terrain in a place like Afghanistan..That'd be very cool, particularly because of the extra immersion..Still, I guess modelling that would take a long time and we'd be waiting much longer!

Hi all, Just curious about the Nevada terrain - What's it actually for? How big is it etc...Is it just for training or will there be missions based on it? I pretty much know nothing about it and missed the early betas that included it! Thanks

From what I've read I think 1x better gpu would be better! SLI doesn't seem to give anything close to 200% performance of the card on its own!

Hello! As you may know from my obnoxious number of threads, I've recently had the chance to build a new PC. Anyway, because I ordered from 2 companies some parts arrived today, and some will arrive tomorrow...Due to this I had the chance to try out my new graphics card with my old equipment..Basically from: q6600 @ 2.6ghz 4gb ddr 2 ram gtx 260 to the same system with a gtx 460.. The fps difference is HUGE! I have gone from 15fps on the tutorial mission ground to 30 on significantly higher settings. On equal settings I'm getting about 37... Can't wait to see if the new cpu gives me any more fps...But to those of you considering a GPU upgrade I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Thanks spartan! Very helpful. Following the tutorial alone, is there no real sensor involved in lining up a gun run? All it explained for me to do was to head toward the red smoke signals, though I'd imagine there is a far more precise way to set this up? I think some more study is required :)

Hello wonderful DCS community! Two questions..(Actually, three...) First, at what altitude should I begin a gun/rocket run? I often find I'm too close to the ground...Whats the best altitude to perform a run from? Second...The cannon lag! I asked in another thread but I don't think anybody answered! Why does firing the cannon on ground units kill the FPS so much? Has it not been optimised or is it just my rig? Finally, my new pc parts arrive tomorrow (hopefully!)...I've not really built a PC before but think it'll be simple..Basically I'm changing my mobo/cpu/gfx and ram..effectively a new PC..Is it best to install the CPU and HFS before I mount the motherboard? If anyone can offer some advice I'd be most greatful as I am quite nervous about breaking it... Thanks again!

Also, why is it that here:http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html The I5 only gets a slightly higher score than my own cpu? Thanks Konov, however I have already ordered the GTX460 and was going to order this too - Thank god for credit cards :) The setup you mentioned would run A10 final release well at highest graphics wouldnt it?

Ah sod it, I'll abuse the credit card. I've got a budget of about 250 pounds...What can I get for that in terms of mobo/cpu and ram...I'm looking to upgrade now rather than the next few months, though... Thanks!
