ty for the heads up :) the geek in me loves a good driver update...
-
It appears I'm trying to rep you too much Sarge, it won't let me do it anymore!
-
Sarge thats amazing! I had no idea I could do that...I didn't know I could map pinky Sarge thats amazing! I had no idea I could do that...I didn't know I could map pinky as a modifier...This will make things SO much easier...I'll lose the extra shift state but whatever...GOODBYE SST!! Thanks :d

Oh also, why is that when I try to remove all joystick commands from the profile in game (the dcs a10 profiler) then save it and come back, the joystick has been reassigned to settings, even after ive reloaded the config? Thanks :)

Hey all, Have just had problem after problem with my X52 pro. Hardware seems to work, so I think it's software issues. Anyway, the latest is I've set CTRL + , . / ; to trim...each one works except for trim nose down..I have tried a reinstall...Ughh...Any ideas? Due to problems wih the software I have remapped all the keys 4 times now...I wont get it refunded etc as all the hardware works fine..Awful software.. The commands are mapped to pinky + POV 2...it seems the more commands you save to the profile the more errors it occumulates...I made a new profile and the command works...switch to the old one (set exactly the same) and it doesnt...I've never worked with such awful software...Have had a maximum of 90 minutes actually using the joystick and well over 6 hours of programming.

Found a PC for DCS, will it do the job?

Hey there, Just one monitor @ 1900-1200 though quite presumptuously I presumed the OP would only be using one monitor! -
Graphics lag. To the MAX
Conure replied to Severum's topic in Lock On v.1.0x and Flaming Cliffs v.1.1x
Hm. New motherboard drivers installed? All device drivers up to date? Check DX version to make sure it's up to date...You've run windows update too? I would also recommend a defrag following format, did wonders for my FPS. must be some kind of software conflict/problem if you're getting worse fps in 7 than on vista, with the same machine.. -
I reckon your pretty much the best rig money can currently buy will probably be able to handle this sim quite well :) - I think there are more optimisations coming with Beta 5 so it should only get better...You will probs see an increase from a consistent 100fps to 103 or so :D

Over Vista? As in an upgrade? that's generally a bad idea in my experience...If possible it's best to back up, format and reinstall. If you did format first, have you run windows update and ensured you've got all the latest drivers? -
thank you Cali, I will look those up!

If management is what you'd call my efforts in the KA-50 then my work force was running riot..

How can I totally remove my X52 pro?
Conure replied to Conure's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you :) I managed it in the end by opening hardware settings in the control panel and clicking 'remove drive'...Seems to be working now...SST is VERy temperamental.. -
Hi guys, Basically my X52 has messed up and the profile went all weird, repeatedly hitting keys etc etc...Ive tried reinstalling but it's still dodgy..Pretty convinced through testing that its software. Is there a way to remove all traces that an X52 ever existed on my PC, and start a fresh as I did on day one? Thanks Con

Ferry? I mean range for (roughly speaking) 2 modern, equal air to air combat planes built for the primary purpose of shooting other planes down!
-
I've never played Falcon but the more I heard about DC the better it sounds...Sounds almost like theres a bit more strategy behind the missions rather than a linear plot? That's very cool..
-
Hi Cali, what is the actual range of most fighter aircraft??
-
Well...need thoughts on the next build

I have only just "upgraded" to my gtx460 and core i5 760 and all of you guys have your i7s and 570s...I hate pc's....I'm going to go play Hawx on my 360 at a consistent 30fps.... *sulks* -
Not CE, but I'm actually considering creating my own A-10 simulation based on the Call of Duty: Black Ops engine. You can do some serious damage to those guys on the ground as long as you're happy to pull really tight turning circles ALL the time. (can anyone get the saitek website to work? my x52 messed up and decided to permanently zoom out, so I wanted to reinstall...Drivers section is down for me though, thanks Saitek....)

Henchman if you're sitting in an office working 21 hours a day building the perfect ground/air simulator, you release it, and it works...I'll buy you a beer. Wherever you live in the world. I'll pay for you to drink all night!
-
GTX460 here, same!

Modern jets engage each other from 50KM??? Wow..Do they literally just lock onto something the radar picks up?
-
That's incredible - Though I bet there arent many astronaughts testifying to its realism :D I find the A10 a complex machine to learn...I can't begin to imagine the complexities of space flight. I mean, once you've escaped the earths gravity it's a totally new framework to learn. As an amatuer astronomer, my lifes ambition is to go into space one day, then I'll die happy :) Richard Branson is an incredible man for bringing that dream a little closer to reality for us all.... Anyway, I'm ranting, drooling and off on a tangent..

Hey guys, I used to love civ flight sims and would like to try them out again. My main fear was given how advanced DCS is, I'd hate to not have realistic systems and a good flight model..However having seen this: I think I'm a bit more convinced... Anyway, I've found a bundle of FSX, GEX, REX and UTX for pretty cheap here in the UK...How would this coupled with a PMDG plane be? Hope you guys can advise :)

Hi guys, I've been overthinking again and thought...Is it a possibility to have 2 distinct game engines that only interact. For example..Arma 2s ground level graphics for the guys on the ground, and DCS graphics for the guys in the air, where DCS calculates the physics etc, for aircraft position and then sends aircraft position simply as a set of coordinates to the Arma engine...No calculating needs to be done on the part of the Arma engine regarding that...DCS could have extremely low textures for the Infantry...The Arma engine on the other hand could calculate bullet positions etc which would then be sent back to the DCS engine purely as hit or miss with a rough location (i.e outer left wing) That was 2 engines could calculate entirely what each was specialised for, whilst communicating with the other in a very real but ultimately cosmetic way. Impossible?
