..Just used Windows Speech Recognition to add "Kobuleti" to it's dictionary, and added my spoken pronunciation. Now I'm getting a 100% confidence level ! Many thanks Greyman for the suggestion above. I guess I just need to spend a few days teaching Windows to "Larn Yasel' Geordie" and I'll be golden ;)
-
Definately doesn't like us Northerners! I left Newcastle 25 years ago but I guess I still have a Geordie twang. I've been repeatedly saying "Kobuleti" into the mic for the last hour and the closest I've got is a 35% confidence level. At one point it thought I'd said "ATC" which I'd actually settle for at this point ! And I'm using a decent powered studio mic through a Focusrite interface, all VA and VIACOM settings as per the setup guide in the manual.
-
Thanks, yeah, reading through forum issues I'm starting to think that might be the way to go. I was just hoping to save a couple of binds on my throttle ;)
-
1. Perfect thank you, I was hoping that was the case. 2. Any VIACOM with SRS users out there ?
-
I'm seriously considering buying this utility, particularly as I already use Voiceattack and find it really useful. I've just downloaded and read (most) of the manual and I have a couple of questions which I don't see explained there.. 1. How does the kneeboard extension integrate with the existing kneeboard ? Would I for example use my existing keyboard binds to bring up and browse through the regular DCS kneeboard, or is the extension just a page within the DCS kneeboard ? 2. The SRS integration with SRS PTT mapping sounds great but I don't understand the alternatives described for switching to and from VOIP when integrated.. " • [PRO] Use Switch Command: allows manual switching to VoIP. Keep holding PTT (e.g. after you’ve sent a message to an AI unit) and say ‘Switch’: VoIP transmission will be switched on and you can now speak to human player using VC/SRS until you release your PTT key. • [PRO] Auto Switch: Keep holding the PTT key after the AI command is recognized. VoIP transmission will be automatically switched on; you can speak with human players on the frequency until PTT key is released. " ..implies that everytime I want VOIP I have to either say SWITCH in manual mode, after sending an AI message, or in auto mode, keep holding the PTT key AFTER an AI command has been recognised, and that VOIP mode is only then maintained until I release the PTT key. Why only AFTER an AI command ? what if I want to speak on VOIP without issuing a command to AI first, and perhaps have an extended 2 way conversation? Isn't there a command to switch to and remain switched to VOIP mode until switched again?

..and from Systemactive yesterday on the UK delivery schedule.. " We had our update meeting with HP this morning and we are passing on this information as promised. We were inundated with calls and emails following last weeks update. Quite rightly customers were requesting delivery expectation for those who pre-ordered August onwards. It is with great pleasure we can announce much better news than we anticipated. So here goes: Those that pre-ordered by 31st July will receive their orders on Tuesday 1st December (Really sorry guys this has slipped another day!) Those that pre-ordered between 1st August and 30th October will receive their orders by Thursday 10th December " Thankfully ordered mine on June 30th !

Small gripe returning from dogfight mode
ShaunX replied to ShaunX's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I guess I could. Just being picky really. I've ended up binding left MFD OSBs 19 and 20 to modified CMS fwd and aft on the F-16 stick, which does the trick in a click. While I was there I bound OSB 18-Azimuth to modified CMS Right and 17-elevation bars to Left. I'm finding this convenient in BVR too. Think I've just got used to pretty much everything being bound to the HOTAS in the low-fi F-15C. -
1. Agreed. I've tried all kinds of axis tune settings on the Warthog throttle mouse hat but still too sensitive, and setting too much of a curve just makes it too slow on the FCR. Ended up binding a 4 way hat on the stick which works fine. 2. Similar problems. Think I'm going to leave the Mavs alone until ED iron out the kinks (and complete the "SPI work"). It's not like there's a lack of other things I could be practicing ;)
-
It's brilliant isn't it ! Great for practice. No, I can't take credit. Thanks go to Sidekick65. His mission link is below. Worth noting that you need the A-10C, the AV8B and the A-4E to run the mission (and the 476th range targets). I have those so I was able to edit the mission and add the F-16C. If you don't I'd be happy to edit you a version with just the F-16C (assuming Sidekick65 is cool with that) ;) Iron Bombing Range

The F-16C manual states that returning the Dogfight switch to centre "returns to the last selected Master Mode", which it does, however, it doesn't return the range scale on the FCR to it's previous setting. It leaves it as usually 10 nm (or even 5 if it had a closer lock in ACM). Now this may be to specification but it's inconvenient because if I'm returning to A-A mode from dogfight mode with multiple bandits, it may be because remaining bandits are now BVR, so now I have to let go the joystick, grab the mouse, go head down and click on the range scale OSBs to locate the other bandits. Ok, so I'm only loosing a few seconds and it's only a small gripe but I do think it would make more sence to return previous range scale setting.

58 just gone. Flew a bunch of the Microprose sims back in the late 80's when I got my first 286. Then a 386SX with a massive 40mb hard drive! F-15 Strike Eagle, F-19 Stealth Fighter, F-117A Then life and work got in the way and so after a short 30 year hiatus from simming, took early retirement last year and was soon climbing the walls needing something mentally challenging when I discovered DCS World in early June this year. Wow! Things have come on a wee bit since the chunky pixelation of the F-19 and I'm definately hooked again. Got a decent severance from my company so promptly kitted myself out for DCS (even pre-ordered a Reverb G2 on June 30th...still waiting for UK delivery;)

That's interesting, I had exactly the same problem this morning, and I was also using 476th range targets (specifically a mission by Sidekick65 - "Iron Bombing Range" https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312663/ which I editied to add the Viper). Couldn't understand how I was missing so badly with GBU12s with CCRP until I noticed the TGP SPI was creeping. Haven't had the problem in any other mission with GBU12s or indeed Mavericks.

Really Nice idea for the ICP mapping. I may steal that one! OK, Stick, I've got: All buttons as per F-16 spec - Pickle, trigger 1 and 2 detents, NWS/MSL Step, FOV pinky, Trim hat, DMS, TMS, CMS CMS Press: Uncage That just leaves the paddle, which is my momentary modifier . With paddle modifier held: Trim Hat - Up: Kneeboard on/off, Left: Prev Kneeboard page, Right: Next, down: Current position on Kneeboard map. DMS - Up: A-A Mode toggle, Down: A-G Mode toggle, Left: Lazer Arm toggle, Right: Master Arm toggle TMS - U,D,L,R: RDR Cursor slew (I also have the mouse hat on the throttle configured as that, but I find it impossible to accurately slew the TGP or Maverick WPN camera with that - and I've tried lots of axis tune settings!) Pickle: Emergency Stores Jettison - tanks and any free fall bombs.
-
I've also struggled trying to get the MAVs zeroed with the TGP. Wags' video walks through the process, however, he's clearly calibrating Mavericks in a jet that has been started from the air, so they're already calibrated ! Also, he's using a distant static object, placed in a clear area, with a steerpoint placed over it, so hardly a real world example. For me, the logical place to perform the process, is during start up, in the 8 minute wait for the INS to align. Grim Reapers have posted a tutorial on this - which is most appreciated and implies that you need to enable "GND JETT (Ground Jettison)" to perform while on the ground. As far as I can tell, the Maverick seems to only want to complete a target lock (and thus display the BSGT icon on the screen) if placed over a valid static object. So, wherever you spawn in your cold jet, there needs to be such an object, at a reasonable distance and within the Maverick's seeker azimuth. If no such object exists, I've found that if you switch the Maverick to "AREA", it will form crosshairs on any point in space. So, I've found this sequence appears to work.. 1. Go through start up procedures as normal, including setting INS to NORM and power up the TGP hardpoint 2. Set Master Arm to Simulate 3. Set GND JETT to enable 4. On the SMS page, power up the Mavericks and set mode to PRE Wait about 3 mins for TGP and Mavericks to warm up Bring up the TGP on one MFD and WPN on the other 5. On the TGP camera page, ensure handoff is set to MAN 6. The TGP will be pointing at currently selected Steerpoint, use RDR cursor control to slew it to the front of the jet and pick an object (or graphic like a taxiway sign if no static objects) as distant as you can find. 7. Switch to narrow FOV and centre the TGP cross hairs on the object 8. TMS up to form a point track (this also appears to attempt a handoff on the MAV screen, which I think is a bug in MAN mode but seems ok) 9. On the WPN screen, if the cross hairs are not in the centre of the TGP target, you need to calibrate. Set WPN page as SOI and slew the cross hairs over the object (set FOV to narrow for accuracy) 10. TMS up on the WPN page should lock and display the BSGT icon top left of the WPN screen. If it doesn't, try in AREA mode on the WPN page. 11. click the button next to BSGT, BSGT should flash briefly 12 TMS down to reject the target 13 select the Maverick on the opposite pylon (if present) 14 Make TGP SOI and repeat the TMS up command 15 Make WPN page SOI and repeat 9-12 Both Mavericks should now be zeroed with the TGP Lots of steps but it does help while away the minutes waiting for INS alignment ;)

Yes, I'm lucky enough to have bought a Warthog before they suddenly became scarce (or ridiculously inflated). I am however, rapidly running out of buttons for the Viper ! ...and that's with using the paddle on the joystick as a momentary modifier ! With a bit of juggling I can free up the 4-way coolie switch so I'm thinking AI UHF/VHF left/right and keep fwd/aft for SRS. I guess I should really use the MIC switch but I've found that most conveniently placed for zoom in/out and Track IR reset and pause
-
Thanks man, that does help. I'll stick with the complex comms and guess I'll have to find another couple of buttons for SRS.

Hello folks. I'm coming up the F-16 curve and I'm currently trying to get my head around radio comms, having up to now just used the "Easy Communication" Gameplay option. Studied both the ED and Chucks' F-16 guides and think I understand the UFC controls, I'm able to set up UHF and VHF frequencies and select presets that can be easily cycled on the CNI page. What I can't find in the guides however, is reference to the HOTAS Trasmit UHF and VHF switches usage. I've bound the commands to the warthog but it doesn't seem to matter whether I press UHF or VHF transmit (or indeed the easy comms backslash key), I still get the same menu top right with the same options available (i.e. greyed\not greyed out). I was under the impression that I'd only be able to access an ATC tuned on COM 1 UHF for example if I specifically pressed the UHF transmit ? Am I missing something? Does this mean that I just need to assign one bind to backslash for all AI comms?.. which would actually be nice as then I guess I could use the UHF/VHF transmit hotas switches for SRS (when I get to that!) Even more puzzling, and although I have my flight confirmed and tuned on VHF 127.00, the Flight menu is always greyed out and I can't contact wingmen, bizarrely, when "Easy Communications" is ticked in Gameplay, and it's only available if it ISN'T ticked in Gameplay??? (Encountered when running the ED single mission - Combat Mission - Island Style) I'd Really appreciate any advice.

Tried the replay while maintaining the original view and you're right, it plays back perfectly! Thank you for that. Actually, If I just keep to the original view past the point where it goes rogue I'm then able to then use other views to play it out. Thanks all for the input.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here ? I finally managed to nail the Instant Action - F015C Bomber Intercept, taking down both waves of Migs and TU-22's and landing at base airfield with my AI Wingman. A really satifying experience for a noob. I saved the track file immediately and decided to run the replay to enjoy my victory, only to find that I'm shot down by a R-27 from a Mig that I had taken out literally minutes earlier ! Interestingly, the Tacview replay recounts the original exactly as it happened with successful landings back at base. Am I missing something ? dcs.log

I had been experiencing front wheel tyre blowout on almost every single takeoff in a fully loaded F-15C. Assumed it was just my incompetence and so tried again and again varying acceleration, T/O Trim etc with no success. Then I realised that it was always occuring while accelerating over the central area of the runway which had the expanse of black rubber deposit. I altered my takeoff path to the side of the runway, avoiding the rubber and I have not had a blowout since. Perhaps your rapid contact-nocontact theory is taking place while accelerating over the rubber ?

think you need Avantar to look into this one. Looks like C# is throwing an exception in the Direct X interface. Do you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card ? Does it always happen or only after you execute a particular command ? Do you have the latest version of RS Mapper? I see Avantar released the latest version on Jun 12 and looks like he fixed some bugs. Beyond those suggestions it's beyond me I'm afraid ;)
-
Couldn't you Arm and flip the gunsight with a sequence in Single Press and switch to your CoPilot profile with the On Release ?
-
...Scratch that question, I've worked it out. To get an exact copy of an aircraft profile within an RS Mapper file simply.. 1. Save the original RS Mapper file with a different name (Save as..) 2. Open RS Mapper in the original file again 3. Use "Import.." to import the copy of the file you just saved 4. RS Mapper will inform you that there is already a profile with the name of the one you're importing, and it will ask you to rename the new one. 5. So if the original profile is named, for example, DCS F-15C, name the new one DCS F-15D MOD. 6. You may need to rename and then delete any additional profiles that will be imported from the original that are not required. 7 Now you have two identical profiles so you can add modifications to one of them and switch between them.

Hi Avantar, Firstly, thank you for your efforts in developing this utility. I'm very new to DCS but this seems like the perfect solution to easiliy utilise all of the Warthog HOTAS functions. I do have one query, and apologies if this has already been addressed in earlier responses. I'd like to assign a button to quickly switch to another profile, and in that profile I'd like all of the assignments to be exactly the same as the one I'm switching from, except for one or two new ones. So, the easiest way to achieve that would be to start with a copy of the first profile and just change those few assignments. Is there a way to perform such a profile copy ? I can't find a way from within the app.
