You mean you can wait? lol

I know cockpit shadows have been implemented since 0.8. I was just showing that what he was flying was not an old BETA build, but I suppose they could've just put the old Nevada terrain back in his build. Thought the one mountain looked like it had a dynamic shadow on it as well. (I've never seen the old Nevada terrain it was out of the game before I got my hands on the BETA.)
-
I see cockpit shadows so does that eliminate the possibility that it's from the old BETA??

When I do my start-up procedure I can't get my exterior lights to work. I know I'm missing something small, what is it?

I think this is going to kick major butt. I'd build some something similar but with the i5 k because I don't really use my computer for anything other than gaming. (I used to render in 3DsMax when I did freelance animation but that came to an end.) When you build it and play DCS post something back here saying how much of an improvement it was! Also, where are you getting the parts? Newegg?

[Poll] CCRP, CCIP, or CCIP-CR? and a question
KaspeR32 replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'm pretty sure my escape maneuver is set to Climb. But maybe that's the problem, I'm just too low for that particular maneuver to get me out of harms way? And the minimum altitude setting does what exactly? If I set it to 1500 ft and go below that, will I lose the CCIP aiming all together? (I guess I can just test this when I get home but I'm at work atm). -
Well that makes sense. Thank you. I guess JTACs in the campaign don't quite know that the 97s are broken ;) I'll just have to re-equip for now.
-
Hey Zamboni, I was just curious as to how you are getting tank kills with the CBU-97 even though it acts as a CBU-87 (which is light armor and infantry)

My dad and brother standing in front of the decommissioned F-14 that's now in front of where they work. Northrop Grumman.

I think you're confusing a few things here. China Hat Aft long slews sensors to current steerpoint, China Hat Forward long slews sensors to current SPI China Hat Aft short resets your SOI to boresight China Hat Forward short zooms FOV in and out Correct me if I'm wrong.

[Poll] CCRP, CCIP, or CCIP-CR? and a question
KaspeR32 replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I always thought that CCIP is more accurate. CCRP is best used to stay out of harms way, and allows you to "toss" the bomb in some cases. Obviously with guided bombs it's your only choice but for unguided bombs it comes at a price. Some people use CCRP for cluster bombs (CBU-87) because there is room for error since it has a wider area of effect. I do have a question though, when I am using CCIP, and coming down on a target, I seem to be getting an X through the center of my aiming reticle before I pickle. Is this because of not setting the bombs up properly in the DSMS? -
Lot of tutorials on Mark points. But basically make sure your TAD is SOI, then TMS Right Short will create a markpoint at the location of your cursor.

Thanks Rob, great answer. Lastly, Did I delete my Devil's Cross campaign by accident or with 1.0.0.9 is it taken out? I only have Georgian Hammer available to play right now.

After doing a bit more research I'm starting to understand the terminology that the flights and AWACS are using. Hawg 1-1, Magic, BRA, 337 for 50, 20000, flanking Hawg 1-1 is me Magic = the AWACS BRA = Bearing Range Altitude 337 for 50 = bearing 337 from me at 50 km is target 20000 = altitude in feet flanking = not heading towards me but more parallel? Anyway, I can figure that out as time goes on. I just saw a video on CDU offset (bullseye) on youtube which helped tremendously. (Although when they say "at bullseye 277 for 13" and " at bulls 277 for 13", is that the same thing? Now with the flights. Are there specific targets you can have the SEAD and CAS attack? Or in the campaign for example, do you basically contact them when you want them "triggered"? Meaning they will do their own thing and you just tell them when to start. I guess if that's the case, and you're being lit up by tons of AAA and SAM radars near the target area, it'd be a good idea to fall back a little, "trigger" the SEAD and CAS flights, and wait until the area is clear to move in. Or take out some of the more visible threats yourself (if you have the ammunition to spare.) Thanks again guys!

Hey everyone, So I've finally figured I knew enough about weapon systems, radio commands, JTAC, and navigation to finally give the campaign a go. I just want to start off by saying I was a little overwhelmed at first. The amount of "chatter" going on is unreal. I guess I have to delve back into the flight manual or search for more forum posts but, I didn't have a clue what the AWACS was talking about, like pop-up groups, headings, etc. Also, there are some missions where I can contact other flights, such as Uzi, Colt, etc. (F-16s, F-18s, etc) But when I contact them it seems they just give me some information about their current waypoint and altitude. So my question is this, can somebody point me to maybe a walkthrough or just general information on AWACS and flights? Are they even interactive? Like if I see an SA-13 can I tell a SEAD flight to take it out? Also what do most people prefer when dropping CBU-87s? CR 3/9 or 5 mil or standard CCIP? Thanks and hopefully this hasn't been asked a hundred times before, I didn't see anything too glaringly obvious in the short search that I did.

I'm just slightly confused. Do most people turn on the CDU (to have it start aligning) before or after one of the Engine AC Generators kick in? Or is it preference? In paulrkiii's Checklist (apparently taken from real world,) it shows CDU and EGI power ON before engine start.. 10. APU switch - START (or signal for external air). L2 11. L-FUEL PRESS light - Check off. 12. APU generator switch - PWR. 13. AAP: R4 a. CDU switch - ON. b. EGI switch - ON. 14. CDU - Set for desired alignment. 15. VHF/AM - TR. L4 a. Frequency - verified, Set as req. 16. VHF/FM - TR. L6 a. Frequency - verified, Set as req. Derelor's checklist shows CDU and EGI power ON after Left engine is up to speed and APU generator is OFF.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
KaspeR32 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Just seems that if EA were able to get so much information on the A-10C that is still very much in use, and are able to make it authentic enough for DCS standards, why would it be so difficult to get "enough" information from a decommissioned plane and still have it meet DCS standards? I'm not sure if that makes sense after reading but, yeah. -

I thought the Tomcat has been decommissioned. I'm surprised there isn't information available for that plane. -
Would it be really weird if I bombed the building I work at and then uploaded the youtube clip of it onto my companies facebook page? :music_whistling:

x52 is Definitely the way to go if you're on a budget. Like nemises said, with the "shift" button assigned to the pinky switch, the possibilities are many. Plus the x52 is a bit more universal in my opinion for other games. And if you do upgrade to rudder pedals you can lock the twisting of the stick.
-
We know that. I guess the question should have asked if you're planning on updating Georgia with EDGE. (hence dynamic shadows)
-
New engine with Dynamic shadows, actual satellite imagery.. Not too shabby. Maybe I didn't know what I was talking about

Sure when I get home I'll point the area's I've seen out.

^ Mmmm, it's really something isn't it? I've been living in Las Vegas now for a year and it still amazes me that anyone would try to build a city in this landscape.
-
Odd because I still get it in 1.1.0.9. I know "most" of the higher altitude lakes were fixed but there are still areas (rivers mostly) with the same problem. And the clipping issue I'm not 100% about, it was still there in .8 though.
