  1. EFFSSI Beta EFFSSI is the merger of Eagle Radar Improvements (ERI) 2.1 mod and Flanker Fulcrum Sighting System Improvements (FFSSI) mod. Sighting system because FFSSI improves both the radar and EOS systems of all the Flankers and Fulcrums aircrafts. FFSSI Improvements: When the radar or EOS lost lock on their target they will try to re-lock the target When the radar lost lock on its target not because of player unlock, it will try to regain lock with the radar first and then with the EOS. If re-lock attempt fails, player will be left with the radar on. With EOS, when it lost lock on its target not due to player unlock, it will try to re-lock the target only with the radar straight away. And if that fails, player will be left with the EOS on. All those are done by taking into account the player's aircraft's displacement and heading change since lock was lost and the approximation of where the target would be using the target's velocity vector just before lock on it was lost. Player can interrupt the re-locking attempt by changing master mode. This should remedy the inconsistencies of the radar and EOS systems that are mentioned in this thread :). Install: Install Leavu+ERI 2.1 Extract the file attached to ...\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\Export EFFSSI 0.1.zip
  2. Thanks guys :). I know that the scan zone azimuth and elevation sizes are 60 degrees and 10 degrees respectively from reading other threads. But all these times I didn't think that the HUD of those aircrafts display targets, if any, from a look down perspective.
  3. Oh...I thought the HUD of those aircrafts don't display the target from a look down perspective. Sorry about that as I almost never fly any of those planes in Flaming Cliffs 2.
  4. Hey guys, does any of you know how exactly do the MiG-29, Su-27 and Su-33 radars range scale affect what is displayed on those aircrafts' HUD? Because as shown in the pictures attached the target's position on the HUD changed when I changed the range scale from 50 to 100. Bvoiash
  5. That's my guess as well but I'll wait and see.
  6. lol, I hope not :).
  7. Hi guys, there's a new developer interview here :). Hmmm, I wonder what aircraft it is. I'm hoping, as many do as well from reading this forum, that it will be a multi-role aircraft :).
  8. Hi undertheradar, in case you're still wondering, you can assign an axis to change the radar range. To do so just assign an axis to "MFD Range" in the F-15C "Axis Commands".
  9. Hi Slack, yes I'm having the same problem as well. My X-65F joystick is also not exactly centered but then it's not a big problem in my opinion though. It would be nice if Saitek could come up with a fix for it but currently the deviation from the center is not that big. A small dead zone takes care of it. You should've posted this in Input and Output because probably there you would've gotten more replies considering the topic of this thread :). You can try asking one of the moderator to move it there if you want.
  10. I think he's just playing around with you LoneWolf :).
  11. Yeah, same here :). Can't say bye bye just yet to Flaming Cliffs 2 until there is at least 1 western jet (preferably multirole) under the DCS series for me. As I'm not used to the way the Russian artificial horizon works. A western multirole jet that uses metric is even better if there is one in reality :).
  12. Surely you're not that desperate :).
  13. Hopefully you get to finish it Kegetys and one day release it.
  14. Anyone that has a problem with his/her X-65F throttle stiffness can try this solution, as it solved my X-65F throttle stiffness problem for me.
  15. Hi Chewie, don't feel discourage if you haven't got the hang on how to perform combat proficiently yet. Everyone of us start off knowing nothing on how it works at one point in time. About your problem, as EtherealN has said please do supply a track file of your flight where you encounter the problem so one of us here can have a look at it and try to identify the problem you are having. As for tutorials I suggest that you also download and have a look at the ones about F-15C radar that are posted in flankertraining.com. Ironhand did a very good explanation on how the F-15C radar in LockOn works. And although they were done in Flaming Cliffs 1.12 they still apply for Flaming Cliffs 2 as far as the radar is concerned. BFM 101: Understanding Corner Speed video is also a good tutorial by the way so I recommend that you also have a look at it (not 100% sure if the power bands for the different aircrafts have changed or not for Flaming Cliffs 2 though).
  16. Hi Grimes, my intention wasn't to ask for feature feedback but one of them is simply to see whether it is possible to get both the proponents and the opponents together to agree as to what feature should be included in ERI that will make it acceptable to at least most of the people that belong to those 2 groups. As I have said I thought there are those that oppose it because of certain features that ERI has and not all of them from reading previous discussion about it. Something I seem to have been wrong about. About your suggestion to work in improving the Su and MiG as I understand it though, it's been something that I've been thinking about as well. As it might make the current opponents of ERI to accept it as then if that is done than it would be a win win situation for both groups of people won't it? Or am I wrong? Not that I'm promising anything here by the way. As I'm not sure myself what improvements can be done for those aircrafts. I know GGTharos mentioned something about radar memory to help the pilot keep a lock but he didn't go into detail.
  17. Hi all, I just want to clarify certain things here. I created this thread not with the intention to force any server to allow the current ERI nor do I start it to have another pointless thread. But rather, one of the reasons is to bring all of the community (both the supporters as well as the non supporters) to one thread where they can simply show whether they support for having ERI allowed on the servers that the different squadrons run or not. As to whether or not ERI will be allowed on those servers is of course a decision that lie on the hands of those that make that sort of decision within the different squadrons. I'm sorry to those that may have misunderstood if I haven't made that clearer at the start. And also I am aware of the fact that ERI has been discussed before but when that was done there was no clear indication as to how many support it and how many do not support it. This thread tries to address that by having a poll. Another purpose of this thread, something that the previous discussion didn't try to do, is to try to have the community to discuss what features should be left out of the current ERI so that it is more palatable to those that oppose it. Because I thought, from reading the previous discussion, that there are those that oppose it because of certain features that it has (not all of them). From reading this thread however I seem to have been mistaken as so far those that support it seem to want everything included while those that don't, don't want any of its features to be allowed to be used at all (not that I am against either one of the 2 groups of people by the way, I am simply stating my observation).
  18. Thanks Crunch for posting the more detailed features of the current ERI along with their explanations. I might edit the summary of ERI features that I have posted on the first page.
  19. Hi PoleCat, it would be great if all of the people in the 104th that can vote in this forum be asked to do so. Just so that it is apparent to everyone who view this thread of the numbers that support it and those who don't. The same goes for the other squadrons as well of course.
  20. Something like that. And more. If you have Flaming Cliffs 2 you should give it a try. That way you'll know what ERI is. What does LRM and FvsF stand for by the way? Sorry not familiar with those terms.
  21. ERI 2.1 features, that I can think of at the moment, that need to be discussed (not in any order): STT lock to TWS bug Long Range Boresight mode Snap TDC to TWS target Cycle PDT between TWS targets Keep radar antenna azimuth angle and/or elevation angle on target(s) and/or on TDC More detailed ERI 2.1 features along with explanations here.
  22. Sorry about that :). Will get it done as soon as I can. Have to make sure I explain things clearly :). edit: Done. Sorry it took a while as I had other things to do as well and I also had to ask Yoda's permission first.
  23. Hi people, as you probably already know ERI at the moment is not allowed to be used in almost all of the 24/7 servers that are currently running. What I'm trying to achieve with this thread is to get ERI to be allowed in all of those servers that the different squadrons run, servers that currently do not support the mod. However to do that there are problems that first need to be addressed. The Problems As ERI gives advantages to the F-15C in Flaming Cliffs 2 there are those that oppose for having it allowed in pvp missions. And as almost all if not all of the servers that do not support ERI run pvp missions that means it is, currently, not allowed on any of them. Another problem is the nature of integrity check of Flaming Cliffs 2. As probably most of you already know, at the moment, in the attempt to prevent cheating, those servers check various files before allowing one to join them. A mod such as ERI requires that one of the file that currently is set to be checked by those servers to be modified and ERI itself has to be checked as well to try to prevent cheating. So for ERI to be allowed there, because of the way the integrity check works, either everyone download and install ERI or download and install a download pack that has ERI in it that the different squadrons that run those servers provide before being allowed to join their respective servers. And as you can probably understand getting everyone to download and install something before they can join a server is not easy. As a consequence any server that once was popular can become less popular, if not worse, as people may simply move on to other servers that run unmodified Flaming Cliffs 2 when they can't join one that is running with any mods. Possible Solution With those problems in mind, after talking to various people one possible solution that I proposed is to have those that support the ERI being allowed to be used on those servers to show that they do so and for the community to discuss and try to come to an agreement as to what should be included in it for such purpose. I thought that if all or at least a significant majority of the community supports it and can agree as to what should be included then I can start modifying the ERI (with Yoda's permission) based on the result of the discussion. And once all of that is done then hopefully after seeing the (hopefully) overwhelming support the community has for ERI and how the modified version is more palatable to everyone then most if not all of the squadrons would allow it to be used on their respective servers . Either by requiring everyone that want to join to download and install ERI or the download pack that has ERI in it that they provide. What To Do So after reading the above what can you do? You can make a vote to show your support (or non support) and if you want you can then start discussing what feature should be included in ERI if you have something constructive to say and have the time to do so. But keep in mind though that if you do participate in the discussion you keep your discussion in a civil manner as I and I'm sure others as well don't want all this to come to a halt because the thread has been closed because of uncivil argument. Leavu What about Leavu you may ask? Well considering the obstacles that we already face in order to bring the ERI to those servers I thought that it is wise that we should only talk about the ERI for now. And why not Leavu first? The reason is because after I looked at both the Leavu and ERI codes I found that it is easier and thus faster for me to modify the ERI than for me to modify Leavu.

    FC2 Servers

Hi Iraqi, this is sc here that usually plays in the 104th server. Anyhow, making the server available for public later on for coop missions might be a good idea especially for newcomers and/or less experienced players that might find pvp as too much for them. As they can play alongside the more experienced ones without having to fear of being shot down by those people. Who knows that after a while those people will be willing to give pvp a try (again if they have ever done so before) after they are used to flying with the veterans in a coop environment and gain more experience after seeing and learning how things should be done from the more experienced pilots.
  25. You're welcome . Hopefully it'll fix the stiffness of your throttle at the lowest tension setting. As funny as it maybe it works though :). According to what I've read the problem has to do with the grease that hardened up. So doing so returns it to liquid form again.
