Yep! Same here, 2 within a few minutes. They both ended up in that sludge pit in the sky called file 13. -
Why not? Start with learning the systems by heart, what does what, where the switches are, levers, what have you. Then learn your "speeds". take off speed according to load, landing speed etc. That's with how you do it of course like, flaps settings, AB or not blah blah blah. When you know this, which shouldn't take too long, it's a very small powerful jet. Then practice take offs, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 crash, die, whatever. Do it till fairly good at it. Then practice circuits. How fast, how high, what flaps etc. Then practice landings. When your fairly good at that, start flying about the skies learning proper climbing profiles etc. On and on. You'l be flying that thing having fun in no time!:pilotfly: Good luck!

Very nice Sir! Thank you! -
Really? YOU scared the hell outa me!! I thought man, that guy will be in a world of trouble... So what you deleted really looked like a key.
-
Dude! Don't put your key on a forum!! PM the developer instead fast!!
-
Oh come on, it's a little funny.
-
Ha! All is good! It even updated properly which means i don't get the buzzy G940 anymore. Tx again!

We can always ask for an option that will make the radar work like the one on the SU-27...

Steering/braking: Current, simplified behaviour or realistic?

funny, i'm reading the posts and it's not as clear cut as you seem to think. -

I'm not making a mistake, i'm just stating my opinion. And i know where you're coming from as well, and i certainly respect that. Lets say i was thinking out loud, keeping in mind that both end of the spectrum should be represented here. And i still think there is way more hardcore simflyers than you think. Some other sim platforms are not as conciliant as DCS and they still are very popular with simmers. They just won't take time and money to "downgrade" an add-on that they just spent years in developing to make it super accurate (PMDG comes to mind here, as an example) just saying. -

I'm going to agree here and tell you why and hopefully, this will be viewed as an honest no BS opinion and nothing else(IE no insult intended). We have DCS because we want top of the line modules which in turn will give us accurate behavior right? So far so good. So and so spends a lot a resources, money, time etc and comes out with a excellent module. Then if that airplane has a free turning castor wheel then so be it. If you don't have a rudder and/or the patience to learn to taxi an airplane with that type of system then what is the point of using a simulator like DCS? Because the way i see it, each times a particular aircraft behavior (accurate that is) displeases someone, the maker of the module has to spent more time and resources on something that will render the said plane... inaccurate. You need a stick, a throttle and rudder to be able to use this game at its full potential. Just as much as you need a more powerful computer nowadays to be able to use ANY modern game that comes down the pike for that matter. To ask to waste time and effort to diminish the accuracy of a module because one doesn't have a fast enough computer or proper flight controls is rubbish. So this is what i have done with my G940: i have mapped one of my button on my stick to emulate that handle on the left side of the real stick (like on a lot of Russian aircrafts by the way, get use to it), as i'm taxing if i want to turn left, i push that button and push left rudder. Works like a charm. I know cuz i have flown airplane with that kind of system. I'm sorry but i really don't see what the problem is here. Like i said this is my honest to-the-point opinion not meant to insult anyone. -
Well i think it's not that simple. How far a shell can travel and how far it can go before it has lost so much velocity that it will loose most of it's punch is bit more involved in explanations. And we have to take excessive dispersion into account. So going back to the Shilka, in simple terms, it will kill you under 2.5 km, but won't hit a barn past 3 km and even if it does, it won't do much arm.
-
These figures are MAXIMUM range, not to be confused with max EFFECTIVE range, which is about 2.5 km. The Shilka is a old foe and though deadly at around 2 km and less, it does use canons which are, like any other canons, short range.
-
Yes it is. tx a lot again. Now maybe i should do some work. And it would be easier if they turn the @#%%$@ heat on in the hangar! Cheap bastids...
-
Ok it's on my account now. I won't know if DCS sees it til i get home. I assume it won't matter if i used another computer to bind it right?
-
Ah ok i'll try now. Tx mate! Cobra: no worries!
-
I wouldn't know how to do that.
-
Know what? It doesn't show on my account. And i think it's because i have a "backer's" key. What do you think?
-
Well i never thought of checking that... But i'm having more issues: i don't think DCS has updated to the latest patch as my G940 still buzzes like crazy with the Mig 21. I'll try again when i get home. Tx. Which could take a while as it started to rain. You would think people know how to drive in the rain around here but apparently not...

Gonna have to bump this.

The FFB works with the G940 now??? No more buzzing?
