  1. Thanks for Icontrol free, it's a fantastic software. I've been wondering for a while if there was a way to hide the two mfd screens that show up on the bottom part of the screen and somehow move them outside of the viewing area? Cheers Luca
  2. I removed the main spring and moved the small four ones at the top. it was better but a hair too soft so I took four 2.5mm washers and applied them at the top between the round metal plate and the springs, this way the don't create friction as they don't go up and down but still keep the four springs compressed. I've also introduced a little silicon grease on the four metal pegs and springs, I think it helps. I quite like it now, I might consider cutting the main spring but for now i'm quite satisfied, thanks L
  3. I applied the mod to my combat pedals today, now the feel great thank you for your tutorial! p.s. I kept the scissor plastic bits (the ones to prevent dust coming in) but sprayed silicone grease, it's quite smooth and the plasticky noise less apparent. Btw how do you take them out without breaking them? :) L
  4. thanks for the tip, I'll leave the current grease then (I just wouldn't want to mess with washing the pieces for fear of damaging the wires, I have a bad record when it comes to be gentle with wires). However I'll go ahead and remove the main spring :) let's hope the four springs will be adeguate and won't wear out for a long time. Is anybody using washers in the end? does it detract in smoothness? thx L
  5. Hello all, Thanks I'm going to try the removing of the central spring today (I never liked the strong recentering) however I have a two very quick questions before attempting this: 1) If you applied the no-center-spring mod, are you still happy today after a few months with the result, or did you endup adding washers? 2) Anything contrary to spraying a little silicongrease over the current grease? I'd rather add silicongrease rather than washing the ball and risking severing cables and greasing it again from scratch. (fyi silicongrease is oily and non-corrosive for plastic so should be harmless). THanks for your support guys! Luca
  6. Hello, I purchased the touchir + addon a while ago and tried to setup ipadpit without much success for a while. Then v 1.0.09 came out, now 10. I'm not confident with rearranging the dcs a10 keyboard and buttons. Does anybody have the setup files for touchir/dcs so to get ipadpit up and running in the sim together with the thrustmaster warthog ? Thanks a lot! Luca
  7. Hello, Does anybody have working controller files ( the lua files) for a10 when used with ipadpit, tm mfds and tm warthog hotas? The provided .lua files with ipadpit seem to erase the default mfds and hotas button assignments in a10 (?). Thx luca
  8. Hey cowboy, if you got your copies signed with a silver marker, I was standing to your left, green raincoat and dark hair :) Luca
  9. I like the ide aof the 7" mimo touchscreens. I was put off because on youtube were complaining that they don't quite work for games because don't support directx and opengl, but suspect for most things we would be running external non-opengl and non-directx applications (moving maps etc.). Also I was a little confused there seems to be two brands, mymo and mimo? I was tempted by a nice and cheap android advent vega tablet which could be also used as second monitor but more likely as moving map for x-plane and just .pdf reader for a10. L
  10. Hello, I wanted to add an additional usb monitor ( or digital frame )for displaying checklists and maps on demand, for both a10c as well as x-plane. I'm undecided between a digital frame with touchscreen where I would store lots of .jpg and .pdfs, a usb monitor or a second hand ipad. I was thinking of putting it on the side in front slightly above the yoke. Suggestions and thoughts wanted please Thanks Luca This is my current pit: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75188
  11. thanks great news about 1.1.0.9. any thoughts on which buttons are not implemented in the sim? as you can imagine I'm still learning so haven't bumped into the more complex data handling so haven't pressed too many buttons :pilotfly: L
  12. Hello, I wanted to make use of my keyboard and map the CDU a-z letters to the a-z keys and the numbers to the numeric keypad. I would also want to map all the other function buttons too. I guess I need help with the following: -what CDU buttons are repeated in the UFC (thus making the mapping redundant)? -what buttons should I avoid mapping because unused (I noticed the UFC fwd mid aft buttons to mention a few) -in the sim, does it matter if I press the ufc keypad instead of the cdu keypad? Thanks! Luca
  13. Thanks, I wanted a decent cockpit since I was a little kid, but now that I can afford it I can't afford the space eheh. I purchased the seat from gameracer, plus the monitor stand, built my own mini-itx computer (surprisingly powerful for the size). Then, the saitek combat rudder, thrustmaster fds, trackir, wireless keyboard and trackball and last the amazing warthog hotas. I took me over a year between planning purchase and upgrades http://www.gameracer.co.uk/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=45 I'm quite pleased, running x-plane and a10 right now, although I find a10 quite complex, would really need time for it, probably things will change once I get my hands on the hardcopy manual.. I still think the setup is too big for my flat but definitely a good start, plus my girlfriend is ok with this torture chair around in the flat, this is a great plus for me
  14. here it is, lots of work done to keep this as tight and small as possible, London friendly :)
  15. thanks for clarifying :)
  16. Hello there, has anybody seen this? after having installed the 1.1.0.8 patch over 1.1.0.7, the game asked for the activation code gain and bum I lost an activation. Luca
  17. Items still on sale, price reductions and f1 2010 added, check the first post, thanks for watching L
  18. I'm noticing flickering of far away chunk of hill and country textures, like squares that flicker reddish-brownish once in a while probably after a few mins in a mission, not very noticeable but still... I'm using 2xAA hardware (no AA ingame) and all settings to high except water to medium and heat blur disabled. Hdr is on. win7 64bit
  19. Ciao, scusate, con easy communications on, e' sempre necessario importare le frequenze all'inizio delle missioni della campagna? non credo, vero? mi sto impegnando allo studio dei sistemi e anche le radio sarebbero troppo per adesso.. grazie Luca
  20. Price reductions and new sims added. offeres considered! Thanks Luca
  21. I've installed target for the first time and after creating a simple configuration, it broke my dcs controls settings: the rudder and yoke have been merged into a virtual joystick whose functions are not assigned anymore to the hotas submenu of the controls page. I should reassign all buttons and axis but believe something must be wrong right? I assumed dcsa10c is designed to run the TM warthog with target installed plug and play, hassle free right? THanks for any delucidation Luca
  22. thanks, I've just placed an order :)
  23. ok I took the plunge! went for the warthog plus saitek rudders (the old model for half the price of the new ones). If anybody is looking for a g940 in excellent conditions I'm now selling one :P
  24. ordered through http://www.warthogcover.com/ thanks L
