I keep having reasons not my fault also like sometimes for no apparent reason the ground increases it's altitude and flies up to hit the bottom of my chopper, and occasionally when I am flying along minding my own business a missile comes out of nowhere and since it's right in my flight path I run into it. I am sure this is a defect in the Sim. :cry: but I've only been flying the BS a little over three weeks so I think I can figure out a way soon, to get around these shortcomings with this Sim. Because of this, the average age of my pilots is about one hour. they are all very young. Lmao it reminds me of an incident down south when I was visiting some friends, I saw some things that a LOADED hog can do but one of them was not flying, in that context a fully loaded hog can also be VERY dangerous.

I also was wondering if there was a way to slow it down:cry:, I think the only way would involve uploading to a file server and that could take some time depending on his upload speed. It would be heaven to watch that in full length. :thumbup:

Ok I see, I was just now trying to find change logs for 1.01 and could find a link but when you click on it it's dead. I wanted to see what was said about affinity at that time. I can't seem to find change logs for any patch in one single place. Plenty of 20 to 60 page long threads discussing changes but no place that I could find where you could go and find something akin to a "list". Any ideas?

I was under the impression that was taken care of with patch 1.0.2 to make that happen automatically, I read somewhere that the "CPU affinity" was taken care of? Did I misunderstand? and if so how do I set affinity other then right clicking on the .exe? or does this strictly apply to XP and vista and win 7 don't work this way? in refrence to DCSMax

I would have been eating tree limbs or dirt if I tried any of that lol. Pretty nice to see. I have been mostly just target practicing and not using the systems much but I can see for sure how it will help tons while trying to look away from the target to do other things. You are able to stay in a safer position because of it where I need to keep plenty of alt because of not using the augmentation. I need to practice some more, then when I'm done I need to practice more even lol. Thank you for posting. If you look at some of the videos in the new KA-50 video thread you can also hear the sounds of the trimmer in the real cockpit being used constantly, maybe even more. after watching and listening to those videos I have a far greater appreciation of the realism of this sim. I was watching a video taken from the pilots perspective there and for a moment I had to ask myself "am I watching the sim here or am I in the cockpit of the real thing" Thats saying a whole lot because I have NEVER had that feeling before. And you can see by my sig I have been around, you name it and I BET I've flown it virtually. :)

I have no Idea myself but If I had to guess, I would think he is saying something like " now I'll show you how it's done" or maybe " now we are going to have some fun" I almost forgot he has no tail rotor, because for a moment when he started spinning, I thought he said " Oh $#!^ no tail rotor" :joystick: Great video though, thank you for posting. I wish we could get a Russian speaker to help translate some of these other videos, I would love to understand what is being said in those documentary's.

Since ChromeWasp mentioned the GTS-250 I happen to have one laying here EVGA Gts-250 Oc 512 Mb DDR3 ram. I have a system running 32 bit vista ultimate and 4 gig 800 mhz ram (3.454 usable) installed so I grabbed the GTS-250 stuck it in there and run BS in the the third mission (not sure the name but a lot of ground unit firing and smoke from my rockets and the things I am blowing up and my frame rates when all of that is happening rarely drop below 40 FPS using the in-game frame rate display (using fraps will kill them, don't know why a frame rate software would murder ones frame rates lol) The only thing I am doing significantly different is that in that machine I am running a E7400 duo core at 3.6 Ghz with air cooling and an older Pentium 4 heat sink (larger surface area then the one that comes with duo cores) This performance is hardly any better then my balls out machine running a 9xxx series Quad core at 3.3 Ghz with dual GTX-295's lol. You would be very hard pressed to see the diffrence. FSX acts the exact same for me it wants as much RAW speed on the CPU as it can get and anything beyond two cores doesn't seem to impress it whatsoever. and the GFX Card seems to be pretty far down the list when compared to CPU speed and Memory speed + FSB these things are like gold with Sims of this type. That GTS-250 is plenty enough that you should be getting around 40 FPS when others are flying around you in multiplayer IF YOU had a decent CPU. So I think you need to totaly get that FPS "problem" out of your head, you have made a clear decision to have poor frame rates! that is something you are solely responsible for, not the way the sim was made. That leaves your only other complaint about the sim supposedly not being accurate and I think that was covered by Real life combat chopper pilots here already. I'm thinking it's maybe a good time for you to start a clean thread asking for advice from other more experienced pilots. That's where I go for help.;)

Wasp), there is some woman who seems to be playing an important American (she doesn't speak very good English but in 1993 I bet we had a few Americans who played laughable Russians in movies) Anyway it is really worth watching on two levels, the main one for me are the great cockpit shots and some incredible aerobatics.

I really never fly with trim or heading hold, I thought that was for making the sim close to game mode? I guess if I did that then yes the weather would be far less problem but I like to fly the aircraft with out help from the systems if I can, that's why I would like to fly a track made by an experienced pilot to get some ideas, and I can think of no better, faster way then to fly along with an experienced pilot. Personaly I dislike using trim very much, to me it's like turning a Lamborghini Murcielago into a Buick LeSabre but this is only the opinion of one wanna be pilot.:) If I have a good track to watch a pro doing it using all of that flight augmentation, I could be converted lol.

I've been doing some foot work to track down his exact CPU. Here are some of the more common Cpu's that are possible candidates. Some popular Intel cpu's Wolfdale Yorkfield Westmere Willamette Some amd's Winchester Newcastle Clawhammer Toledo But as much effort as I put into it, I still am at a loss which is a weedy, I can't even get any info on whether it's a AMD or Intel Code name. My guess is since Intel likes to name them after west coast towns and landmarks it could be intel and it could be named for Weed California. but no weedy on any list I checked.:smilewink:

Oh YES! I would love that, I am having some trouble with everything that happens when weather/wind etc.. is introduced, a .trk file of a experienced good pilot like quicksilver and pingo would help me a lot.

The comments are pretty funny, I also was skeptical of any Russian hardware and technology having served during the Regan (Navy Avionics P-3) years there was indeed a lot of misinformation given us about the capabilities, what was strange is that in one sentence out CO's were telling us that the Russians are going to overwhelm us and then the next sentence they would tell us that the Russians had a bunch of low tech junk lol. I do know I would not want to be looking at the wrong end of a KA-50 regardless of what machine was wrapped around my skin at the moment.:helpsmilie: Back to the question I have, does anyone know what movie this is from? I would love the name even if it is only available in Russian language or whatever. It reminds me of the cinematic style of some of the sixty's Bond flicks. Very cool in a camp way.:thumbup:

If you have Lockon Flaming Cliffs 2 with the latest patch, you can fly those aircraft in the same missions on line with folks flying the KA-50, you can create your own missions and share them and play coop with all aircraft in the same virtual world. People do it all the time, on the on line servers like the 104.

Well I for one, am all for introducing the Real Black Shark Ka-50 to NYC and the thrill of dodging Pimps and hookers with shoulder launched stingers. Get right on it ED, drop that A-10c thingy and put all efforts into this please.:megalol: Oh almost forgot, Please don't forget multi player Coop where one or more players can be hookers and pimps and such. There could be a pseudo para military application for this idea, I mean there must be pimps who need to practice their skills with the stinger for possible real life situations?.
