As the title says the latest patch somehow has loaded an old user profile. I can find the current one still in my saved games folder but have had no success repairing it. Please any help or hints would be much appreciated. Even if you can point me to a post. I've searched on reverting to an older install and that doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Hello it seems that nearly every time I start the sim and there is a auto update when loading I have a previous profile that I thought was lost before now loaded with all the log info etc.. This seems to be random and as I said back and forth. I'm still not entirely sure how to manually find all previous profiles and insert them at will. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

I don't like to be the rain cloud here but a lot of folks already mentioned that this stuff doesn't come for free as far as computing resources are concerned. Explosion shadows should be, by their very nature Much more complex to generate then a simple relatively static 'floating' cloud. There's nothing wrong with wanting more but there is some point where you have to be happy without making a additional huge investment for processing power. My system is fairly up to date with a overclocked i7 running @ 4.7 Ghz 16 GB DDR4 ram and a nvidia 1080 GPU with 6 GB ram. This system is quickly falling behind, I do have a motherboard that's Kaby Lake so I may still have room for a better CPU. With this setup I think it will struggle a bit if you get everything you want for effects. As long as these effects can be scaled between systems then it should be no problem, to let folks add complexity as they monitor performance/frame rates. I see in these threads quite often statements like such and such effect barely has an impact on my frame rates (signature states user is running liquid nitrogen cooled cray supercomputer with bleeding edge 128 GB ram and super SSD drive Quad EVGA-1080ti GPU's ) Get real! there are a lot of folks who have to live with what they have, you can advance yourself right out of the market. I'd REALLY just like to have 2.5 ALREADY and let them tweak it while it's being used.

Haa yes is was cold and dark and yes I did forget to power on the system I was busy trying to get things going and I kept forgetting, wow I've been flying too long and not enough lately. I keep coming back every few months waiting for Caucasus to get done. :-(

Hello I started the second mission and found after takeoff I can't fire any weapons with any key or joystick assignment. It shows I have a "full" load-out and master arm switch is on but weapons won't fire and no indication of any error. I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious, but this is the first time I've had this happen perhaps a update messed it up?

Why don't you start by reading the thread you're commenting on? If you had read the thread you would know it has NOTHING to do with wind! Please read. Had you actually read the thread you would quickly know that he is trying to HOVER at 40Kps! the wind isn't a factor unless there is a weather model for a category 1 Hurricane.

No, he's already going 40kph, he's making his own wind. I can't understand what the issue is it must be a semantic/language thing, because to me the term Hover means something like a stable flight while maintaining a single position in both the vertical and horizontal planes. So Flying at a forward (or otherwise) speed of 40 Kph is considered flying or crashing NOT Hovering. There isn't a button you can push (that I'm aware of) that will suddenly stop you from 40Kph and put you into a Hover mode, probably because the autopilot has no clue where it is that you eventually want to actually hover in a single position both horizontally and vertically. This seems so plain that it leads me to think I'm misunderstanding the question. With my background I could certianly design a autopilot that would be able to do such a thing the time to achieve hover from x speed both horizontally and vertically would be the only real variable that you could control in flight and it would sort of act like your throwing your chopper into a ballistic trajectory with an ending point in a 3D space set by the amount of time/decay, it is done all the time but I've never heard of it being used in a combat chopper IRL I wouldn't want to be along for the ride with somebody who can't slow down on their own I couldn't imagine the landing.

Auto-hover at 40kmh? don't think that will work. Auto hover is for hovering, 40kph isn't hovering. I must be misunderstanding your post but I've never had any luck using Auto-Hover unless I am already in a actual hover = less then 10 kph. Auto-Hover certainly isn't meant to put you into a hover from forward flight, that's not auto-hover.

I know nothing was mentioned about NTTR that's why I mentioned it I wished I had seen a post like mine before investing in world 2 I can give you some quotes from the powers that be about the future of black shark and allowing the transfer of the Caucasus if it wasn't promised it was implied. I don't think it'll happen but I'm not putting any more into it until I know for sure I'll be happy with the results so I'll wait until further development. I wonder can I give my key away right here for NTTR I'd love to give it to somebody for free who might get more out of it. I guess I'll send an email to DCS asking. I don't even want a refund I just want to give it away that's how little I personally feel about it. I've been in this since the very first black shark software hit the public and it's always been more of a kit then a complete project and that was understood but some of us were hoping it would develop to the point where we didn't have to use our time building we could be flying and others would make the product but it hasn't done that I'll probably keep checking back like I have been doing and if it doesn't die it has to be better lol. "story wise" It would still be the same story it was said that the terrains would need to be updated the only change to me would be better graphics same story that WAS the plan. It's not an allegation it's an opinion. I didn't negate the purpose. For me it has no purpose, of course there are people who get a lot out of the NTTR, I'm not one of them. It may have something to do with the fact that there is virtually nothing to do relative to world 1.5.4, I have both and don't run dcs world 2 at all, I would gladly give it back for a refund without feeling any loss at all. It (NTTR) was for me personally a waste of my money and it's no ones fault but my own for not educating myself to what exactly dcs world 2 + NTTR would give me as a Black shark pilot. I was simply trying to help those who are in a situation like myself where money is very limited for entertainment and it's best to spend it well. P.S. Yes it does look prettier but I'd rather have some ugly son of a bitches trying to stop me from completing my missions then fly around looking at crap (city of Las Vegas?). If NTTR or world 2 had the Caucasus type Campaigns for the black shark all would be well, until such time I'll fly 1.5.4. I feel like I'm expected to make my own add on mod/product (campaigns/missions) to use the one I bought. KA-50 + Photon torpedoes = ? Modeling could be an issue here as I don't think they were meant to be fired within the earths atmosphere. You'd have to slap some thrusters on the hull for control if you figure out how to get it into orbit, hence the great need for DCS cape Canaveral module. I see major weight gains from new environmental systems for flight in space and re entry could be a bitch. Reminds me of a very old thread about making Black shark as "good as grand theft auto xx" LMAO that was a good one. It may have been one of the longest ever here lol.

If you're mainly going to fly the black shark don't make the mistake I did and Buy the Nevada terrain to get DCS world 2. There is Nothing really to do in world 2, stick with 1.5.4 it's free with your purchase of black shark 2. The Caucasus campaigns are missing in world 2, at one time it was rumored that they would be updated for world 2 but I don't know if that will ever happen but I'd wait before spending more money..

Same issue here 32 Gb 2800 DDR4 Patriot ram i5 6600K liquid cooled @ 4.7 Ghz Evga GTX 960 SSC 4 GB DDR5 Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Mobo. While monitoring RAM (Total System Ram) usage in real time in game it never gets close to 6 GB never! More is always better until you have a family to feed then we sometimes have to do with what we have. Thank god we don't need those 1200W arc welders power supply's anymore, unless you plan on plugging a toaster into your USB port lol. This system running prime 95 and graphics bench marks has never exceeded 420 watts total running wide open! When I'm flying at a couple of k in a ka-50 I can watch the terrain below loading in a rhythm it's not smooth and not jerky it just has a rhythm and any body can see it while flying low and fast it's in the way the sim is made, I don't think that will go away if you're running a cray mega computer that takes up a whole room. I won't buy a SSD to "cure" this.

I know I'm getting older and my mind isn't what it used to be I am having a hell of a time figuring out something that someone else might find absolutely simple. I'm wanting to operate DCS black shark KA-50 in DCS world 1.5.4 with two monitors the main one displaying the normal cockpit and the second on displaying only Abris. I'm using win 7 ultimate the main monitor is 1920 X 1080 secondary is 1600X900 I don't care if the abris isn't perfectly displayed as far as aspect ratio but I would like the whole Abris to be displayed I guess with black bars on each side to maintain some normal aspect ratio for the abris. Every time I've followed this guide I keep coming up an extra wide main and no abris. The combined size I'm setting in game is 3520x1080 I get main screen and part of the main on the left side on the second and no abris, only the radar in upper right corner of second monitor. Driving them with a single gtx 960. Any hints or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the DCS P-51 and FW-190 don't compress in a dive and "lock" up? They should.

I know this has been gone over a few times before but I couldn't find the threads that I saw in the past. I'm no expert on flight dynamics and such but it seems unlikely that my entire tail from just aft the rear gear bulkhead the thing fell/shot off and I went in and got an abrams and then flew about 50 back to base and landed safely on the belly as the gear was not functioning even with emergency. realistically lot's of warnings were lighting up and I was being told of many failures lol. I was thinking the thing should go nose down instantly and continue to spin end over end until crashing. It would make for a more exciting track view.
