  1. After reading through the Mirage F1 manual, I can make a reasonable guess that CW is the "Continuous Wave". But I still don't know what CD stands for. Does anyone want to give it an educated guess?
  2. Hi, do you guys remember that in my original post, I talked about a variant of J-7 called F-7MB with a new RWR called LJ-2? Check this out, I have just found more photos. Not sure what CD and CW stand for.
  3. Not a recon drone. That is the Unmanned AWACS system WZ-9.
  4. Found this on a media from Taiwan. They called about a new PLAAF unmanned AWACS at about 5:30.
  5. Sorry, I apologise. That was a mistake on my part. It was an article I read a long time ago and I got it mixed up with the AIM-9L and PL-5E comparison. So I went back and found that article and read it again. It only stated that: "The A variant is an improved variant with greater range and more powerful warhead. The improved seeker head requires the guidance of the fire-control radar of the aircraft only during the final stage of the flight. The B variant is also known as PL-11-ARM. This is an active radar-homing derivative of the A variant, with an AMR-1 active radar-homing seeker developed by the 607 institute."
  6. USB hub, but that should be irrelevant. Because there is only one USB plug. All 3 pieces are combined into one piece. Please see the picture attached.
  7. OK, the newest update. About 2 hours ago, I was invited by TaxPayer to play DCS online with some friends. But as soon as I connected the game, I noticed that my right side panel wasn't responding to my command. So I went into the "Windows game USB controller setting" to check the issue and found once again, that Windows couldn't detect my panel. after reconnecting my panel, windows appeared to be able to detect it. But in the game, there was nothing. On top of that, it affected my other controls as well so I no longer had the "centre" button for my TrackIR (which was mapped to a button on my Cougar MFD). By the time I sorted everything out and rolled to my runway, TaxPlayer had already gone to bed. That was how long it took me. By the time I got myself airborne, all I managed to do was to help out Max in his last fight.............well "help out" was a bit of a stretch, it was more like I "decoyed" a missile for him. But that was a different matter. So what's happening to the right-hand panel now? Well, after some tests, I found out that this warning light panel no longer work. As long as I have it attached to the panel, windows will give me this "USB device unrecognisable" warning and take my entire right panel offline. If you guys have followed me on this thread since the beginning, you would know, that the seller never gave us the software to synchronise the warning light panel. So it never worked as intended. And they are charging people $260 for it.
  8. True to some extent. However, the issue is that we don't know the maximum G limit of the PL-15. Let's use the AIM-120 in DCS as an example. When an AIM-120 still has its 2+ Mach speed, it is very hard to dodge. But if its speed is below 1.2 Mach, you will have a good chance to dodge if you have a speed of over 800km/h. And you will have little chance to avoid the missile when flying at a lower speed even when you are at your corner speed, which is usually around 500km/h. Given the fact that PL-15 is a next-generation missile. Its G limit would be more than that of an AIM-120. Basically what I am trying to say is, that once the maximum G limit reaches a certain height (which every modern missile has nowadays), the faster the missile, the better chance it has to kill its target.
  9. OK, I just watched the last video. I will watch the previous 2 later when I get more time. But from what I have seen, that guy didn't say that "ramjet needs supersonic speed to function. He only mentioned that ramjet missiles have 2 disadvantages. 1: the speed is low at the first 30km which makes them easier to dodge. But for PL-15, its initial speed makes that range an "unescapable zoom". The guy didn't claim that the meteor "won't work". That wasn't in the Chinese subtitles which corresponded with his lip movements, only in the English dub. In Chinese subtitles, the commentator only stated that "ramjet intake causes high drag". So that's the poor choice of words on the English dub. 2: ramjets missiles INS guidance won't work because they cause too much drag and after it consumes all of its fuel, it loses its ability to attack. I agree, what he said here was an exaggeration. The missile shouldn't "lose its ability to attack". It just loses its killing efficiency more rapidly. But please remember, he is not an authority but a commentator in a TV program for causal military lovers. You are not a causal military lover. You play DCS, that makes you a semi-export. So please don't get worked up when people tell you that electrons orbit the nucleus, instead of telling you that electrons appear randomly in the nucleus's energy zoom and that the same electron can occupy multiple different locations of space at any given point in time.
  10. Are you sure it is just a propaganda? Or maybe it is just you can't believe anything that is against your expectations. Secondly, "propaganda", by its English definition, is a lie given by authorities. How do you know it is a lie? And which part of that is a lie? Do you have the detailed files on PL-15? If you do, please share it with everyone here. All of us including me will appreciate your contribution if you do.
  11. Closer to 7M? For the little information I know, PL-11 wasn't closer to 7M, at least not the original PL-11. However, there are 2 upgraded A and B variants. A variant had a new motor and seeker, which gave it a similar performance as AIM-7L. The B variant was just an A variant with an active seeker.
  12. I did, remember? They told me that "it is designed so" and refused to acknowledge it. How many times have you tried to contact them about the UFCP issue? Have they ever responded?
  13. So is it an axis? Or is it a 3-position rotator switch?
  14. Thanks. So it is an axis, right? Or is it a 3 position rotator?
  15. Hi guys, just one quick question. Does anyone know what this is? null
