More minor things to correct. Hopefully I'll be done soon. Need to figure out how to do the helmets. Then watch the AI fly to expose other errors with control surfaces. Don't have it (the L-39) so I can't fly it, and there are so many arguments in the model viewer that it is hard for me to figure out what opens what.

Very nice looking. Where would one find the helmet? It isn't in the pilot.dds. And which line in the .lau file would pertain to it?

I for one would be interested in viewing it. My main shortcoming is replicated decals. I know some people use the pen tool and then edit it until it looks exactly like the object they're tracing over, but maybe there is a quicker way.

Adding new SSD, will I loose activations?

Does adding a new slave SSD use an activation? It is not a boot/OS drive. I am going to clone my old SSD onto the new one, format the old SSD, then use that as an additional game drive. I fear this will use up 2 activations. Or does deactivating all my DCS products prevent activation loss?

Very nice looking skin George. Does anyone know of a work around for the model viewer error? In V1.5 I can't reload the model and see changes to my skin, I have to exit the entire program and then reload it. Sadly, half the time it is minimized to. Just makes it a pain to view quick little changes. Also, what lines pertain to the pilot and bort numbers? I'd like to remove the numbers and add a new pilot helmet and uniform. I assume I can just grab one of the .dds files of the pilots as they aren't included in the template.

You're moving the goal post. If you are discussing a different topic why bother responding to me? I stated the Mirage 2000C with a different radar (the RDM) is capable. You then claimed that I wanted them to add a bunch of other weapons when I didn't. And now you're excluding the radar modules I alluded to in my post. You're arguments don't make sense because you're not actually responding to posts, but making your own narrative and then counter arguing it. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I'd be very happy if RAZBAM decided to model other radars to get the additional missile. Keep in mind what France uses is irrelevant, seeing that they're including various other nationalities: Meaning that if Egypt or some other export customer has an RDM equipped version, then they can realistically be added to the game. If the module came with both Mirage 2000C variants that would be wonderful. But I doubt RAZBAM will develop two separate radar systems/variants in a single module. :(

Its simple. The 2000C never carried those weapons. To illustrate your argument, you're arguing that the F-15C shouldn't have the AIM-120 because it can't carry the AGM-88. Your argument makes zero sense and has no consistency. RAZBAM decided to choose a different radar that was better for air to air, hence why the current variant modelled will not get those missiles. That does not mean the other Mirage 2000C variants do not carry them. As I mentioned, having both variants of the 2000C would be nice. Perhaps it can be added in post release, but I don't think RAZBZM is interested in doing two radar/Mirage 2000C versions.

Because unlike your example, the Mirage 2000C can carry the ARMAT. Just a different radar module. Adding a different radar module isn't like re-creating an entirely new aircraft from scratch either. Just a few avionics and possibly some 3D model changes in the cockpit. Not something that can be done in a week, but an unrealistic goal either. Having both variants of the C would be nice.

Is there a way to get the English markings (found on Black Diamond Jet Team)? The template only comes with RU, Ger and Czech markings. Wondering if there is a file which has them somewhere.

Looks nice. What methods are you using to recreate the emblems? This is an area I still struggle in. And one other quick Photoshop question. I know how to move individual layers by a single pixel, but is there a way to move a bunch of layers in a group a single pixel? The Transform / Scale / Triangle / Pixel option is blanked out, which is how I do it for individual layers. A little more progress on this one:

Is there any way to pull flaps ect. down in the model viewer? As I don't own the L-39 it is a pain to see how lines look when various parts shift. Getting the AI to show off the areas I need is difficult. One of my WIP projects:

Looks like the livery I was doing (Baltic Bees) was already done... maybe for the older L-39 model (the ZA)? Suppose I can do the Art on Air version.

Thanks! Any idea on where this is? The rounded yellow part. Doesn't seem to be where the rounded intake area is. Makes me wish my monitor was a larger res. Hard to navigate such a large template!

Edit 3: Very different .lau structure from what I am used to (FC3 templates). I use DXTBMP to save as DDS DXT5. This doesn't work with the L-39. I also noticed there are two files I must have, a _DIFF and _normer. And some other changes in the .lau. For now, I am just trying to do a simple body (no fuel tanks/pilots ect.). What should I be doing in the .lau and how should I be saving the file? My first go resulted in a texture error.

I will give this one a try, however, are there any other reference pictures so I can see the other side and bottom? Any other skin requests that people have good references for? Sadly I don't have the L-39C myself, so hopefully modelviewer works in the beta.

Edited my submission. Like this shot better. Shows off the new L-39 and the Su-33 which is likely getting a standalone release soon. Also does an excellent job showing off the new heat blur, lighting, lens flare effect and general atmosphere. I also believe the shells from the Su-33 are a new feature. Good luck to the winners, and thanks to ED and the mods for running this generous giveaway. :thumbup:

Hello, Quickly joined a server to see how multiplayer works in the 1.5 beta. It appears as if the option to chat via text has been removed. Or am I just missing it? Also, is there anyway to order servers alphabetically or by ping?

Tried a mission with some objects. Sadly, performance is not much better. Place ~30 static planes at an airbase with no AI. Frame rates will still drop below 20. A few Grads launching rockets all impacting in close proximity still results in sounds going away. I was hoping the engine would have allowed larger scale battles, but it does not seem like anything changed. :(
