A very quick video showing off the new cockpit. Looks nice!

No real performance difference on my end. I assume the difference will be noticeable with lots of units. I already had 80-120 frame rates in the old version. Start up time is significantly longer due to the login feature. This is something I really dislike and hope it goes away.

To fix the issues copy a single module from the following folder in the retail install: E:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft to the open beta location: E:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft Then load the game, go to module manager. It will then exit the game and download the modules one by one. I copied the FC3 folder, and it updated and synced them all. Upon loading the game, the login failed. I waited a few minutes before clicking the X. I then went to the module section which downloaded the modules. The game worked fine offline. I have not tried this online, so I had no idea if there will be issues using this method when playing online. Please note you may have DCS installed on a different drive from C:\, which may have given me my issues in the first place. I also moved my install from C:\ to E:\ well over a year ago.

Can't figure it out, there is always an error. The guide also doesn't specify how to do it in the beta and only references out dated versions. Is there a place I can simply download the files? There is no reason to place it behind a CMD prompt/login wall. I guarantee the login will fail for the retail version to. Isn't Starforce and 9 limited activations enough DRM?
-
All it does is launch the game, and hits the login. DCS_updater.exe Are you sure that is the file you meant? Really disappointed I can't use my modules. I could have kept my other games on my drive and skipped the download if I knew I wasn't able to use my modules.

DCS Word 1.5 Open Beta Screenshots Thread

AI. Not sure about those who bought it as I don't own it. Only modules I can use are the Su-25T and TF-51D. I suppose we have to wait for a patch to use the other modules. -
What files must I copy over to get my modules working?
-
IMO the menu style needs to be reverted so it works like previous versions. Feels a bit too much like an MMO in that it needs to sign in upon start up. Got some errors, which left me unable to do anything. Online connection and account sign ins for offline play is not a good thing. What if our internet is down? What if the ED servers go down? Can we not play single player or at least make missions? Also signing in is a pain upon each start up, even if it is set to auto sign in. I understand for MP, but it is a pain when trying to load the game offline. Going back on topic, I can't figure out how to install modules. I don't want to unnecessarily use an activation.

Some quick screen shots in V1.5 Distance clarity is improved, as can be seen by the detail on the runways. -
Was going around 2-3 MB/S, now down to .8. How do we install the modules? From the in game module manager?
-
I would hope we don't have to buy DLC to be able to take off/land in Naval aircraft (when they're released) or get new updates to the unit. Would also make it a pain in the editor for multiplayer. Though I assume they meant a controllable carrier, with positions modeled inside the carrier. In which case I don't have a problem with it being paid DLC. I would just hate for AI units/behaviors to be spliced between different versions.

I'll enter myself for the NTTR. Thanks for the giveaway! Edit: Can I enter myself for both NTTR & the Mirage? -
Next DCS (European) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Flogger23m replied to Busterbvi's topic in DCS Core Wish List
No such thing as a "Mirage 1" or "Mirage 2", and none look like MIG-21s. Did you mean the Mirage F1? Or the Mirage 3/5 series? I assume you know what a 2000 looks like with the module in development. Or maybe the KFIR and its variants (based on Mirage 5) -
Buy a friend a module? :music_whistling: I wish I had bought an F-15C when it was $2 to give out to a friend who wanted to try flight sims some time down the road. At that price I wouldn't have missed my $2 if they never played it much.

Any idea on the file size? Cleared some room on the SSD, but still only 41GB left. Will it be notable larger than the current version?
-
Why keep programs on a mechanical drive? SSDs are much faster. The loading difference between my 240GB Crucial M500 and WD Black 2TB in DCS World, ArmA 3 and BF4 were a night and day difference. I'd never move those games back to a HDD. Only problem is 240GB is next to nothing. BF4 alone takes up 60GB.

I would like Vietnam, but it would be so lopsided. Not an issue for those who want to play SP or as Americans. So I'd rather have more individual, modern planes (80s-current) along with new maps.
-
The best counterpart in DCS World that is flyable is the MIG-29A. If we get an F-16A, we'll have another comparable plane. :)
-
A good 1TB SSD costs about as much as my GTX 970. I don't see 10TB being mainstream anytime soon. Lots of talk of cheap SSDs, but price hasn't budged much.

M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase
Flogger23m replied to MemphisBelle's topic in M-2000
Are there any plans for versions with different radars? For example, the 2000C RDI and 2000C RDM? And I know this would likely require a separate module, but perhaps a 2000-5 or 2000-5 mk2 (aka -9 in export) can be developed in the future. Obviously most of the avionics will have to be re-done, but maybe some art assets like the 3D model will mostly be done from the 2000C. I think a lot of people would be interested in a multi role version of this air frame. -
Pre-Purchase M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM

Agreed. The difference between the AFM, AFM+ and PFM are not that big. 99% of the players will not notice the difference between them. I'd imagine you would have to be a pilot of said aircraft to be able to tell the difference. And the difference in time/cost to add the differences are likely not too big. The SFM on the other hand is a rather large difference. -
Made this video about a year back, don't think I ever posted it on this forum. Short video I made with some of the FC3 aircraft. Remember to watch in HD. :)

Any word on a template for the new MIG-29 model?
