  1. Happend to me many times. I used the training mission VFR straight in approach. Landed and taxied left and all the way to the only open hanger, near the parked helicopter. Suddenly my jet stopped taxing. Even MAX AB did not help. Using external view I noticed NLG wheel is stuck in the ground. Happened several more times when tried to taxi through the grass at the side of the taxiway.
  2. Works as it should. Please read what I wrote here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=258034
  3. Same problem in the VFR straight in approach training mission. The narrator and the mission text asks the player to check the EPU GEN and EPU PMG lights on the EPU panel. Those lights are on the ELEC panel.
  4. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a CDC? I am familiar only with Centers for Disease Control...
  5. Yes, I'm quite familiar with that policy during an emergency drill... However, even in extreme emergencies, FLCS BIT has to pass, otherwise the pilot has to abort and move to another jet.
  6. Thats a bad thing for seveal reasons. It means the ground crew did not setup the cockpit for launch. It means the pilot did not perform BATT-TEST. It means the pilot did not perform EPU-TEST since he needs to check the 4 green FLCS POWER lights are on. What you described is impossible. In Maint, according to your claim, FLCS has no power. It means no FLCS caution or warning light can come on. Maybe the aircraft was connected to external power and the pilot tried to perform some checks before engine start. A possible explanation is: FLCS PMG did power the FLCS. BIT failed for some reason which caused the FLCS FAULT, FLCS warning and MASTER CAUTION and maybe TO LAND CONFIG to come on, hence a Christmas tree...
  7. Thats a common mistake. Maint removes power for the entire FLCS only when connected to external power. When the engine operates, the FLCS PMG is the one supplying power because it has the highest voltage relative to the other FLCS power sources. FLCS PMG is routed directly to the CONV/REG so the Maint relays can't disconnect it. -1: "For maintenance use on the ground. Inoperative in flight"
  8. I knew I forgot something... Thanks Stubbies2003!
  9. Exactly, a short click.
  10. Engage it very fast, it will fail immediately. Engage in air, same result. The real switch requires 1 second to be engaged for the BIT subroutine to actually start. This is simulated quite well now:thumbup:
  11. The DFLCC OFP should be about the same, unless someone else can prove otherwise.
  12. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta I can verify the following reported bugs still exists as I found them myself before encountering this forum: 1. JFS doors are not animated during JFS operation. 2. Flight control surfaces are not animated during FLCS BIT. 3. MFD TEST and FLCS pages shows nothing. 4. STORES CONFIG light does not come on when SMS disagrees with the STORES CONFIG switch position.
  13. I don't know. I am a FLCS expert, not the entire avionics suite expert :smartass:
  14. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta I can't make the PFLD to show anything. The simplest way to force the PFLD to show something is to move the LE FLAPS switch to LOCK. That should force a FLCS LEF LOCK PFL (and a FLCS 043 MFL in the MFD TEST page). Even a failed FLCS BIT shows nothing. I used the F-ACK button too. Is the entire PFLD a WIP? I searched with no results.
  15. I found out the terms "flashlight" and the term "utility light" are used interchangeably. This is very confusing for me because I know for a fact those are 2 different hardware pieces. The utility light is what is installed in the right console and can only be used with the MAIN PWR switch at BATT or MAIN, since it is fed by the battery bus, not the hot bus, which feeds only the canopy actuator. The flashlight is a commercial flashlight that each pilot has in a pocket of his G suit. It is battery powered by its own self contained battery, not the aircraft battery. according to [removed - Rule 1.16] "The only lights available from battery power are the utility light and the cockpit spotlights. Remove the utility light from its retaining post prior to strap-in. Ensure you are able to monitor RPM and FTIT during start until the generator is on line and additional lighting is available. Use your flashlight if necessary." I saw many threads about this and I believe a decision has to be made how to call it in the docs, the key bindings and the training mission texts.
  16. MAL & IND LTS BRT/DIM switch logic According to this post, it is still under the status of "REPORTED". https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=258034&highlight=MAL+IND+LTS+Switch The correct logic according to -1 is: "If the PRIMARY INST PNL knob is on, momentary activation of the switch to DIM places the lighting system to the dim condition. The system automatically returns to the BRT condition if the FLOOD CONSOLES knob is turned past the detent to HIGH INT, if the PRIMARY INST PNL knob is turned off, or if emergency dc power is lost. So, the status of the OP bug report should be changed to "NO BUG".
  17. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta Fails immediately with FAIL light on. The FLCS BIT switch is a magneticaly held solenoid. The logic to apply power to the solenoid is all 4 branches of LMLG+RMLG WOW switches are on the ground and GS is less then 28 knots. The FLCS BIT subroutine can't even start without those conditions met so there is nothing to make the FAIL light to come on. The correct logic is nothing happens when trying to engage FLCS BIT at flight. The switch will not engage and no light, MFL or PFL should come on.
  18. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta The AOA INDICATOR shows flactuating AOA even on the ground. According to -1: "When NLG WOW occurs, all AOA indications are based on zero degrees." The logic is that AOA readings from the AOA transmitters are unreliable at slow speeds. This logic was fixed when the FLCS was upgraded from analog to digital (block 1-32 to block 40+).
  19. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta During Fuel Quantity test, the totalizer seems to display 6000 immediately. Since it is an electromechanical wheel, it should animate to 6000 which takes a slight amount of time.
  20. FLCS BIT does not fail if certain switches are at their wrong position. The following switch positions should cause FLCS BIT to fail. MANUAL TF FLYUP - DISABLE DIGITAL BACKUP - DIGITAL ALT FLAPS - EXTEND LE FLAPS - LOCK AIR REFUEL - OPEN LANDING GEAR HANDLE - UP ADVANCED MODE - PUSHED Trims way out of zero The reason is those switches need to be at a certain state which is safe for takeoff regarding certain FLCS gains.
  21. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta This lamp does'nt seem to come on when it should regarding a failed FLCS BIT. According to -1: "The FLCS warning light also illuminates if the LEF's are locked or BIT fails. The FLCS warning light remains illuminated until FLCS reset action is successful in clearing the failure." "the BIT runs for approximately 45 seconds. A failure during the BIT sequence or a BIT interlock failure terminates BIT, returns the switch to OFF, illuminates the red FAIL light and the FLCS warning light, and sends an FLCS BIT FAIL PFL message. BIT failures are nonresettable and the red FAIL light does not go off until a subsequent BIT is successfully completed.
  22. This light looks amber like any other caution light. This is wrong as this light is special. The light should be black text over red background. The only picture I found is this and I am aware it is not the best quality. If you look at your -1 under the WARNING, CAUTION, AND INDICATOR LIGHTS paragraph, you will see color diagram of all the panels with lights. The FLCP is clearly drawn with a red half for the FAIL light. Don't look at the FLCP diagram in the FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM (FLCS) paragraph as it is not colored, so misleading. This is a simple texture fix.
  23. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta Caucasus map in single player Training mission: Aircraft startup The following mission text appears twice, one after the other and contributes nothing by repetition. "The nozzle position should be 5 percent or less within 30 seconds after selecting SEC".
  24. Hi everyone. This is my first ever post about DCS and ED. I retired after 30 years of working as a F-16 and some other jets FLCS maintainer and SME. I bought the F-16 module and found some possible bugs. 2.5.6.54046 Open Beta Caucasus map in single player Training mission: Aircraft startup The narrator and the mission text asks the player to check the EPU GEN and EPU PMG lights on the EPU panel. Those lights are on the ELEC panel. Please fix the mission text and the narrator voice over.
