I tested the gimbal limits of SU-27 radar lock and found it out to be about +/- 80 degrees of the nose cone. Quite astonishing. So even though we cannot do the 3-9 missile evading line but at least we can do the 2 - 10 line. :D

I hope a patch would get released that adds Su-27SM which is capable of carrying R-77 missiles.

Recently I conducted a poll on which fighter aircraft most of the people fly. I see that more people have opted for SU-27 against Mig-29S (if we talk about Russian aircrafts only). I find it very difficult with SARH missiles that comes with SU-27 so I fly Mig-29S with ARH missiles. So what am I missing here? What are all the advantages of flying SU-27 against Mig-29S? Please help.:confused:

Just curious. Has anybody tried the Maverick's (Tom Cruise) move ( from the movie Top Gun [1986]) to throw off an opponent off your six ? :D The maneuver seems similar to the cobra maneuver.

I haven't played against any human pilot. I play against the AI at "excellent" skill level. So the following information may not be much useful. So, when an AIM-120 is fired at me, say from 20KM away, I keep my head cool and don't worry about the missile too much. Most of the time I dive and get very close to the earth. Then I look at the RWR and when the missile is 1 - 2 KMs away, i pull my stick up (gently). This has always worked for me. :pilotfly:

I read somewhere that the training is only available in video formats ( and not track formats ) so as to remove any compatibility (backward/forward) issues when patches are released.

Try this... Opponent - F-15C with Aim-120C, Skill "Excellent" Me - SU-27 , R-27ER and R-27ET Fly on after burners. Enemy is head on. At about 25KMs, F-15 will fire up his first missile. Don't panic, just close in your distance while maintaining a radar lock on him and monitor your RWR. When the missile has traveled 50% of its distance, fire your first R-27ER. This will make the F-15 to go defensive and he will start his missile evading techniques. Now switch to R-27ET. When there are 3 bars left in the RWR, fire your R-27ET (If no LA with ET, then fire another ER ) . When there is 1 bar left in the RWR, perform a barrel roll to out-maneuver his AIM-120. One question... Why no ECM ?

I have Lock on flaming cliffs 2 English version. The voice warnings (Betty) and the radio chats with AWACS and wingman are still in Russian language when I fly from Russian side. Is there any way to change this to English?

Mig-29A ! Low fuel capacity, lesser number of Chaffs and flares and no R-77 :( You must have been very skillful with your flying.

I fly Mig-29S mostly and face F-15 as an adversary. When a missile (ARH) is launched, I take a deep dive. The missile also dives (and bleeds energy traveling through the dense air). When the missile is 1KM apart (1bar left in RWR), I pull up and the missile misses me. This has worked for me every time. I follow the above technique when the missile is fired at me from a distance of around 20KM. If the missile is fired from a much shorter distance, I perform a barrel roll when the missile is 1KM apart.

Like ?? Are you talking about SU-33 (Naval version of SU-27) ??

Is there any way that would tell me (RWR) how far is a SARH missile that is launched at me? I am flying Mig-29 & SU-27.
