  1. Moa, you took this too personally and 5408 steps wayyyy too far making you sound rather annoyingly arrogant. I did not say that your server was shit, or that you should do something about your ping. Stop taking things out of context. I was merely stating the fact that it is not an encouraging fact to play on the only open servers left that have a 300 to 500 ping, AND I stated that even then it doesn't seem to affect gameplay anyway, with the exception of warping friendlies. I know what it takes to run a server, I am part of a clan that runs the busiest Project Reality Server that ranks #1 in population over all BF2 servers world wide. We split the costs between our members. Don't lecture me about the proper use servers. You won't see us locking our servers up because of a few bad apples. However, since this is a rather small community and some griefers do come about causing a rather troublesome time (especially when you start up the jet for 8 minutes just to get TK'd) I can understand why they are locked. When my people join up to fly, I just host my own game and have everyone join in, nobody has problems even though a majority are playing from Sweden and Russia. So Moa, take a few steps back, chill the eff out. I'm sure you are running a fine server, I have been there maybe once before and it was fine. Now that I know where the information is to join TS I will try to do so (especially since I wanted to give TARS a whirl, though my community uses ventrillo). Should make for some pretty good footage to add to my account, and perhaps get more people interested in playing DCS and FC2.0.
  2. My friend and I play constantly, but are downgraded to using the non password servers, which there areabout 2 at any time.... We use Ventrillo and like to talk there, would have to have to join TS and take up comms. So we would go into our own channel, which defeats the purpose... buttttt if we must... then i guess... How do I find the TS information for these servers? It doesnt state it in the title. PS: At some point Im forced to join stallturn or the Chinese server... Ugh... 350 ping and above... :( And im playing in NYC. Though it doesnt seem to affect the gameplay much or at all. Just dont fly in formation with anyone... it wont end well.
  3. You might hit more bricks along the way. The tutorials are poorly devised and do not work as well as they had hoped. There are certain missions that even now if I were to do a training on, it bugs out and doesnt work or trigger an event. It might be fixed with a reinstall, but if you run into a problem further along in your training, try re-doing the mission, or re-installing if you do not find what the problem is through the forums or the manual. I believe they should have stuck to the video training instead using wagmat as the voice. They are clear, concise, and a whole lot better.
  4. Well the patch next week that wags stated was only to make the multiplayer work for BS2, not sure if it was the actual 1.1.1 patch itself.
  5. It wont auto lock until the rocker key is touched. the slew command, thats what he means. Lets say you fire your first maverick, and the next one is queued up, when you move the slew button, it will uncage itself and if it moves within anything it can lock on to, it will.
  6. LSS as in to laze a target and have him pick it up on the TGP? Where can i find documentation or videos that show how to set up the DL point and LSS. I remember seeing videos at night of one A-10 lazing a target, and you could see the laze through night vision. I tried this online, and had no joy... :(
  7. My previous question regarding sending your SPI to a wingman, I got it down wher ei hook my TGP position in my TAD, then i hook my wingman, then press the button to send. Now he accepts, with TMS left short, however does he now have to go to his TAD and hook that new point i sent him? Or can he press a button or two to get his TGP right on it? Because this method of sending the SPI like this is actually bullsh*t. Its just faster and easier to look at the TAD screen, see what your wingman is broadcasting, and hook on to that position, and then china hat to it to look at the point with yoru TGP. I was hoping for something along the lines of sending it, then having my wingman accept, and press china hat to TGP to it automatically.
  8. My video answers all your questions. I suggest you re-watch it. When you slave your maverick to LOOK at exactly what the TGP is LOOKING at, it only LOOKS at it. So if you have your TGP locked on to a moving target, the maverick (if you slaved the maverick to the TGP) will also be looking right at the target and move with it. At one point in the video I have the maverick slaved to the TGP, and i have the TGP as SOI, and I move the TGP around and you see on the right, that the maverick is also moving, following the TGP around like an obedient dog. Its like, Im in a crowd with you, im pointing my finger and telling you to watch that girl in the red shirt, shes got a nice ass. And you go, oh hey, which one, that one? And your eyes follow my finger at exactly the girl Im pointing at. Thats whats going on. So yes, the maverick will look and track the exact location that the TGP is locked on to. The bad news: It will NOT AUTOLOCK the target. Like I said, you are only telling the maverick to basically follow the finger. You are NOT telling it to look there and Lock at the same time. Hence why after you slave the maverick to the TGP, you wait till you are within range, and then you repetedly press tms up short until the maverick will acquire a lock. So in short, no, there is no auto lock. This "slave maverick to TGP" deal is just to make it look there, a helpful little tool to move the maverick seeker head to your desired area. WARNING!!! The maverick MIGHT lock on to something right next to your desired target. My suggestion to you is to hit china hat forward short with the maverick as SOI to ZOOM IN and make SURE that the maverick has locked on to the right target.

  10. Until the patch, you can cheat. I have noticed that the TGP when in FLIR mode does not penetrate dense cloud cover, however, when you zoom all the way in, you WILL be able to penetrate through it sometimes. Good luck!

  12. search on youtube, and you wil find a tutorial on bullseye. You can input the bullseye coordinates to show a waypoint on those contacts that are being called out. Very useful.
  13. Guys, ease up on them a bit. Suggest your suggestions and wait for a yes, no, maybe, and leave it at that. They have enough trouble as it is having to work on this games patches, KA-50s patches, and the new DCS fix wing aircraft. Should we start the bets on which one it will be? F-15 or f-18 in my opinion. In any case, I'm sure they are really busy finishing that Nevada map just for me! :) EDIT: Have a question. My buddies and I have been flying together and rely on each others targets to coordinate attacks, and we have been doing so by activating SPI ON through that TAD screen. However, when the plane that wants to see the other persons SPI goes about it, he has to make TAD SOI, and HOOK the SPI which shows up at the end of the blue line protruding from the wingman with TMS up LONG command, then CHINA hat it to look at the area with their TGP. Is there another way of going about sending this stuff to the people in my group ID? I know its a continuous stream when i have the SPI broadcasting but I thought I heard someone say before that you press TMS left or something and it sends your current SPI to all the people in your GROUP ID, and that the receiving end just confirms it with tms left short like you would with Jtac. I know that when Jtac sends you info, all you do is press TMS left short to confirm it, as well as TMS left short to clear out any msgs, like warnings. If there is such a tool, can someone explain it to me step by step, just to make sure I am doing everything right. I tried designating a target, TMS UP LONG, then while having the TGP as SOI, i TMS left LONG and short commanded it, and DMS Left Long and Short commanded it, nothing. I tried the same with the TAD seleceted as SOI, all while the SPI ON function was on.

  17. TGP runs indefinitely in my experience, however, the Maverick has an EO timer. It needs to warm up, which takes about 3 minutes, and runs for about 30-40 minutes, but after that time, you will get a EO timer warning, and you will need to shut the maverick off, then back on. You can also choose to activate it by setting it up to turn on a certain amount of time before hitting a waypoint. Not exactly sure where that option is, but I never had any need to use that function as of yet.

The mission is not created by me, and can be found on these forums or through google by searching the title. It is by far the best mission available on DCS right now, and we had hours of fun playing it. I only wish the campaign can be this awesome... Anyways, enjoy!   19. Oh dear god, what wouldnt i give to have that helmet sight... BTW, that picture up top, even though its landing, it still manages to look super dangerous with that minigun sticking out of its mouth. So I take it that you will not be upgrading the A-10C with any recent changes that may have been implemented due to the military only allowing you to declassify certain information? Either way, you guys are doing a helluva job. Im just waiting on the news of which fix wing aircraft you are working on currently (Fingers crossed on one of the F-15 variants, since its the best looking model in the DCS series I have seen to date).
  20. It is a shame they never mounted a helmet sight for the pilots, like the KA-50 has... It only makes sense to have that for them as they pass low and spot a target, just look and click, and presto, TGP is looking right at it... Unless its part of one of those upgrade you speak of. I think it would be a super effective upgrade.
  21. Plug and play, but it is just back from their wearhouse, after the mother board failed with the infamous motherboard death on the throttle... I hope they resolved that issue... I dont want this thing to die on me again... It was a lonely few weeks without the thrustmaster.
  22. Found out the problem. When you switch manually, its ok. However, when you do it from the panel on the Thrustmaster warthog, while flipping from path to alt it also tends to switch off EAC at the same time every other try. Its not a huge deal. Guess its a glitch with the software.
  23. Got it, but Iv noticed that Tracks accumulate disastrous errors when sped up that dont resemble the actual events that happened. Il post track in this post once I get it as to not create any more.
  24. Gotcha, so Pitot switch on will help with preventing icing on my systems? Awesome! That's what Iv been looking for. As for track, like I said, I cant guaratee how long or short it might be, all I know is that it happens randomly at different altitudes in different settings, its the weirdest thing ever. Il try to get a track of it.
