  1. I hvae been getting this random issue every day now. When flying in autopilot mode, i have, lets say it set to path mode. Then I turn my auto pilot off and start leveling out, and switch to alt/path mode, or just path, and then my master caution goes off, and I see that my EAC switch I think has turned itself off automatically. I quickly flip it back on and then everything is normal. When I try to reproduce this, it is never the same. BTW, i am using the thrustmaster hotas to do the flipping of switches for that. Is that a bug or feature? ALso, on a second question, I have these moments when I need to fly at around angels 20, and in certain cold areas I guess my systems freeze up, mainly my speed indicator just either starts to sink and shows im doing 90 knots, or stays frozen at like 290 knots(which i know results in overspeed sounds at high altitudes in normal circumstances), resulting in the over speed or stall caution sounds to go off that I can't silence, resulting in me going deaf for 30 minutes while up that high the entire time. Is there a series of steps I can take to minimize this? I think the Pitot heat switch worked at some point, but I was not sure of its function, I was just playing around in that area of controlls for an answer. PS: I realize the A-10 is not supposed to be up that high, but its a must in certain missions, and I realize that you are supposed to go thurst idle and air brakes on when descending at sharp AOAs and high altitudes to not break the speed gauges. Im just looking for an alternative way to get around this problem in stable orbit at high altitudes.
  2. Do these skins work in MP?
  3. No no, thank you. A great map like that inspires great videos. Everybody that has seen it so far has loved it, and they want more. Give me a heads up if you design any more new maps. I will definitely make a video of it.
  4. Hey, I would just like to say that GREAT JOB making this mission. I played it with my friends and made a relatively short video for it. Good work and enjoy! LdN31Ryp1A0&lc=-PyXILspOnGvuXSCBlZ8FOMAWFBJzhZQChwy4TQ4F9U&feature=inbox
  5. I apologize if it came across as rude. Not meant that way. I appreciate any help I can get and I truly WAS more satisfied that I figured it out myself. My only point was that short answers by some people around these forums does not help out a lot of people, so I figured I would explain a bit more in detail so that if a next person is wondering the same thing, they now know how to do it and will not need to panic and wonder if what they did just made things considerably worse, or if a hundred civilians are about to die from a bomb gone astray. :)
  6. Thank you but frankly, that was not a great explanation after finding that out the hard way of experimenting with it for 20 minutes while in flight... For those who might be interested, you do the following. Go on the left MFCD and DSMS, then inventory, select the bombs (you will need to do this one by one), you will see the option to change the LS code there, i ususally do something like 1655. Once inputed, click the LOAD button on the bottom right. Repeat for each laser bomb. Then go on right MFCD and go into TGP, select Air to Ground, then select the properities i think from the top left corner. On the left hand side, you will see 2 areas where the code 1688 is, change BOTH of those to 1655 in this case, should be LS code and LSS code i believe. Sometimes the LS codes on the TGP change to 0 from their default 1688 code, probably a bug, but it occurs when you select a different payload on start up, and reload the CDU manually. My advice is to select the payload you want before starting up the plane, that way you will not run into this problem, and you will not need to reload your CDU once the plane is completely ready to go. So if your bombs are missing, I would first check the LS code on the TGP (and change if not 1688 if you have not changed it to something else for the bombs), second thing I would check are your LS times if you did the auto lase from the profile page of the bomb, depending on your altitude. PS: Its the little details that count...
  7. Gotcha, thanks. Ok, LAST QUESTION. For laser guided bombs, I have an issue, when flying with my buddies that we are hitting each others targets due to all having same laser codes by default. I know where I can change the laser code on the TGP (cntrl settings, then change the LSS and LS codes to 1688) but the bomb is set to 1688 anyway, if i change the ls code on the tgp all that will happen is my bomb will not follow the incorrect lase. Is there a way to change the bombs lase code?
  8. I have noticed that since the last patch, on the bottom left corner, the RECORD HUD/TV instrument panel is now actually clickable. Does the game actually record any of the stuff if you set it to record? If so, where would I find these files, and is it the same for multiplayer.
  9. Il be finishing up the Campaign missions, so I will probably come across this soon. Il post it then.
  10. Yep, i like that too. One server brought a game mode from FC2.0 The terrorist hunt map. Where big red trucks that are suicide vehicles, are driving down a road, and supposed to blow up an airport. You need to individually find them all but along the route, there are massive emplacements of long range and short range AAs that prevent you from getting too close. The best part is blowing up one of those trucks. MASSIVE explosion. I literally sit on the edge of my seat the whole game.
  11. First off, hello! Apologies if this has been posted before. I have bough FC1, FC2, DCS balck shark and Warthog and enjoyed all those games immensly. However there is one thing that I have had a gripe with for the longest time regarding the DCS series. Which would be the campaign. From all the people I have spoken to, including all of those friends that I made them buy this game, that love this game to death, they all agree that the campaign is lacking severely. I have now played through a ton of these campaign missions for the DCS a10 and i came to realization that I am confused. I will try to point a few things out, and I would like to see if anybody else here agrees with me about these points or at least some of them, in hopes that the DCS team can get the right feedback to perhaps design a much better system for their next DCS series, that I hear they are already working on (some fixed wing aircraft, i would love to know what it is). The one biggest complaint I have been hearing is about the mission end. It seems that when you complete the mission, there is a messege at the top right corner that comes on very briefly and inconspicuously that lets you know you have done your job. This is a biggy, since half the time we get this messege, we are in a serious situation doing 15 things at once, and can and very frequently do miss that little text. Unknowingly that we have done our mission, we continue to engage targets and sometimes die as a result which is never fun, even though you move on to our next mission, it's still quite a big gripe on our part. That also brings about issue, that it brings on absolutely no incentive to continue the campaign. When you see the mission is complete, all you do is press escape and exit, though the ones that love this game for it's complexity go all the way home and finish it to the end like I do, just because I like landing the aircraft as I do here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LN9N8S7yfg I always have a bad feeling when pressing escape and quitting the game like that. It makes me feel that I have quit the game without finishing it. I just do not get a satisfaction out of completing a level at all. It's missing that component that makes it a single player mission campaign. There are numerous ways of fixing that, like making an audio tone to let you know you are done with perhaps text in the middle of the screen? Additionally you can grade the player at the end of the mission for the level of completion, such as completing the mission, and killing an additional number of units, and landing the aircraft back at main. Also to include a mission complete button to exit, so that you know you have completed the mission and are good to go. Another point to bring up is the JTAC. There are missions that are extremely vague. Those missions are the ones where you essentially escort friendly armor units that are supposed to move through one or two checkpoints. Such a mission is so ambiguous that you are flying in blind to whatever is there. However, we are fine with that because we think the Jtac will help. JTAC though seems to want to fixate on targets that are not part of your mission at all. They fail to essentially help you out in completing what you are tasked to do 90% of the time. There are a few night missions that consists of taking out some arbitrary target in the middle of an AA ridded territory, but instead of the JTAC spotting out any AA targets along the way, though they do mention if there is AA present, they will spot out some armor target that is completely not part of your mission plan in the middle of an AA warzone right next to the actual targets you are supposed to hit. I am not sure if this is part of how you meant to create the game, and if it is, then I apologize, however from a players stand point of view, we often like to seek additional targets on occasion, hence why we call JTAC. However we like to seek JTACs help in finding high priority targets that are part of our missions as well. Would be amazing if we could ask the JTAC to prioritize targets such as perhaps long range AA, or any AA of any sort that might be in the area, instead of that idle tank in the middle of nowhere, that is not part of anybody's plan, that is posing absolutely no danger to anybody at the moment. We also do not have the capability of being able to replay a mission over if we are not satisfied with how we performed, which is understandable to a degree, but perhaps a lighter mode might be available to a player (like enabling recover if you die) that allows you to replay a certain mission if you would like. In the end, I do not mind the complexity of the missions they are fun, even if there are a million units doing a battle in 14 differnt places at once, bruning my processor for no apparent reason even though my only mission is to blow up a bridge and rtb, but some people like that and I guess its for the best. However these missions lack a level of ranking up or progressing in skill as you go through. I went on with some missions that seemed to get tough, and tougher, just how it should be, until a point where I keep dying over and over due to an AA ridded location on a target zone, then all of a sudden, I am tasked with a mission right after that one, that is easier than the first mission of the campaign, with no AA, and only to blow up 4 targets then rtb. There seems to be no flow to the type of missions that were designed, and it is sadly quite depressing. After doing such a mission, i feel a sense of being let down by the game. Had i known it would have been this easy, I would have done this or that differenly, or SOMETHING in order to spice it up or make it fun. I just thought, that based on that last mission, it would be at least a little bit more of a challenge... Do not get me wrong, i LOVE this game, I would just like to see the DCS crew grow in designing these campaigns to the players expectations in their future builds.
  12. I have had an issue with my TGP lately. I find a target usign the TGP from my left MFCD, lock on to it, and use my maverick to take it out from my right MFCD. Then i break hard left or right 180 degrees due to being fired upon, and i turn back around after dodging the missile so that my TGP can see the target i had marked earlier or fired upon before i broke off, and upon turning back around 180 to have the target on my 12 so that i can see it on my TGP un masked, i see that the TGP is fixed on the sky. Not even the ground, just way up into the air. ?? I know I havent touched anything in the middle of turning. This doesnt happen too too often, but it does happen frequently enough where it gets annoying in the middle of a hot zone. The only way to fix it, is to put the TGP into stand by mode, then back to A-G mode and then china hat it to where i have my SPI, and the TGP looks back at the target I had marked. Is there something I am doing wrong, or is this a bug, or feature of sorts?
  13. My thorttle bricked today... 4/23/11..... right after the new firmware. Which i was not aware of until today. A day too late... ASUS motherboard with intel chip user. Im boned... Sent TM this: I have bought this system and it worked like a charm up until today 4/23/11 I plugged in both the stick and throttle and the throttle went unrecognized by my PC. The 5 lights turn on and then i get the unknown device message. I googled the problem and found that it is an issue with your product and the compatibility with ASUS motherboards, which i have. I live in NYC, and do not think its a good idea to ship this all the way to France for a replacement just for the same thing to happen again, unless you are shipping out a fixed version that will guarantee me my throttle function. Yes, i have tried booting up with the engage disengage and LG silence buttons pressed down for 5 seconds, no change. Yes, i have completely uninstalled the drivers, and reinstalled the NEW drivers which have been just recently released. Yes, i have plugged in the device into other USB ports in my PC to no avail, INCLUDING trying to connect the device to another computer with no difference. Please dont tell me I just wasted 500$ for a few days fun... Life is hard as it is paying bills every month. Lets see what they say...
  14. My throttle just bricked the same way everyone elses did... Funny part is, the new firmaware was released last night, and it died today... This is serious now... If its ahardware problem then all that needs to be done is wait for a new driver update to solve the problem no? Or will they have to replace the damn motherboard on the throttle completely? Cuz im afraid it will just happen again...
  15. Wagg, why did they not use you for their training videos, i will never understand. Keep up the great work. PS: Idea for a video: Buddy lazing, and sending and receiving SPI between a-10s in MP. Seems to be a bit of trouble for a lot of us, and not a single tutorial is given on this.
  16. Im guessing in my head what that next DCS fixed wing aircraft it is they are currently working on. But i sure hope its the f16 (though already done), so probably something like f18, or f15. The DCS model for it is absolutely orgasmic already.
  17. ehh... im waiting for my buddy to get through his training, so we can test this buddy lazing, but it might take a while lol. Really wanna make a tutorial for this, IF we can get it to work.
  18. gotcha, i understand that part. Same problem we face in Project Reality when spotters are lazing from the ground.
  19. Awesome thank you. So the guy who is dropping the bomb on the target im lazing has to be really close to me you mean? He cant do it from persay another approach, lets say im orbiting the target in a circle keeping it off to me 3oclock and my buddy comes in from the direct opposite side into the target as if coming straight to me.
  20. Yeah, really annoying when trying to set SPI with China hat foreward long and the damn steerpoint jumps on you ahahah. Good find.
  21. Hey guys, i have been looking for this for a while now, and i cant seem to find any youtube videos that show how to buddy lase in multiplayer missions. There are many groups in MP missions each group has its own task, but often these groups have to work together to achieve a common goal, one of which is to send target information to other A-10s. So i guess what im trying to ask for is, any help in how to send target information to other A-10s even if they are not in your own group, which i assume is "sending your SPI"? Also, second, is, i hear one man can actively lase a target for you, and you can bomb it, and as i was reading up on it, there were much different steps needed to take on that challenge, like being on the same lase number and the like. Any way to get detailed instructions on how to do that, or better yet, a video? Im amazed that none of that has been shown anywhere yet. Would have thought it to be a large part of the Multiplayer gaming. If i get it down and no videos will be up of it yet, il try to make one for the future pilots.
  22. yeah, wth are you talking about Holiday? Lol This is a flaming cliffs 2.0 section debate. I even posted video of it a page ago, lol.
  23. Lol, i love that quote. Yeah the lock problem in no detail enviroments is interesting. I flew a mission where a AA was sitting in a deserted patch with literally NOTHING around it. I thought, hey, my mav should be able to lock on to the only heat source in that entire area right? Well.... All that happened was me flying in a straight line at it, and had the mav pointed at the damn AA, and pressed lock, which upon it locked the ground near it, but not the damn target itself. I was within gun range almost when the AA fired on me, and THATS when i got the lock on target, a lil too late.... It does this constantly. My mates that just got into this game from FC2 figured that one out before me. That when engaging an AA, dont bother. Wait till he engages you first, then you MIGHT have a "shot" at it. Lol. Then run like hell and scream like a little girl for your mommy while flapping your hands widely. In hopes that the missile will miss you.
  24. Does it matter?
  25. I remember on the DCS Blackshark, the first mission, was a familiarization of the terrain, where the AI was lead and flying through telling you whats what, and when and where to turn, that was fun! Too bad they didnt implement that here... :(
