  1. That's been around. Its too bad you can't see it from inside the cockpit though. THAT would be BADASS!
  2. Second monitor set up as MFDs :) Its AWESOMEEEEeee
  3. I was also wondering why the new master caution goes off that never gets cleared in auto start up.
  4. As it's been said before, if you dont get DCS A-10 and think this is too hard and you cant focus to learn it, you will be utterly lost, confused, and feel unloved when the jet fighter comes out, as that will have ALL of this crapola here, PLUS a whole new perspective to learn. Better study the videos online. I consider myself a scholar, but even I needed to whip out a notebook, and start to write things down, as do many of us. Boring or not, you will need it.
  5. All the vehicles that need to be destroyed at wpt 1, are grouped up together right? We killed absoltely everything there, but it might have been just a simple bug, il play it through again sometime and see if pulls through.
  6. You can always alt-tab out and browse 9gag!
  7. Played it through but we come to a standstill at waypoint 1. I drop 4 CBUs and my wingman does as well, destroy everything at wpt1, but the mission just hangs there. We dont get any progression. Unless we are doing something wrong...
  8. There should be more missions where the Jtac lazes something for you to find with the search finder option on the TGP... so much win!
  9. You are a GOD!
  10. I end up having 50 new waypoints at some point. How do you exactly delete a new waypoint you created? Mind you, i go to the CDU, pres the question mark, rename it, enter the coords, and then hit the knob to mission, thats it.
  11. Ahh... no.... damn it... I was hoping for a quick fix... i already spent an hour figuring out how to create a new lua file to make my second screen work to show the MFDs which works amazing, but no way of turning it off in the actual cockpit to save CPU power... Those MFDs really eat up 50% of my FPS in certain situations.... I guess Il just stick to hitting F1 on the keyboard for now. Thanks for the response!
  12. Hey guys, I have the Warthog Hotas, and i am not using the right hand pinky switch lever, which is not part of the a10 joystick design, but its there for sh*ts and giggles apparently. I thought it would be a fantastic idea to map that button as my F1, so that when I contact my Jtac, or whatever, and I keep having to press F1 to confirm stuff, i might as well not have to strain to press F1 on the keyoard and just pinky that sucker. Problem is... it wont work... Lets say I observe another plane in F2 mode and would otherwise need to press F1 to go back to my plane, when i hit that button it works. But when dealing with radios, it wont respond. Any ideas?
  13. This is so awesome, beyond awesome. Got it on my first try. YOU sir, are AWESOME! Thank you for this!
  14. Basic Hog instruction 101: Step 1: Turn on TGP Step 2: Use said TGP to find a target Step 3: Point TGP so that target is right on the crosshairs. Step 4: Press TMS up short twice (in other words press TMS up twice), so that TGP is tracking in POINT mode (easier to recognize a vehicle and tries to lock on to it, instead of AREA mode where it ignores objects) Step 5: Press TMS up LONG (in other words press TMS up and hold for a second) This sets that exact point as your current SPI, or Sensor Point of Interest. Almost EVERYTHING is now basically focused on that point that you have just designated, all your bombs, cameras, wives, hookers, are ALL interested in that point. If you were in CCIP you would have a new release point to THAT exact point, etc and so forth. Step 6: After selecting 105's just turn in on the target, wait for the release cue, then drop it. Step 7: Profit? How did you miss this from the training? Have you been attacking targets using your eye ball and HUD to slave stuff around or something??
  15. I think what he means is that they are random, and they are. I have gotten at least 4 different CTD's under 4 different circumstances, though one of them has been just confirmed to be a bug. DONT DESTROY SHIPS, IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO CTD, ED already knows this. I have had other CTDs, but so random its hard to say. For example one was me engaging a convoy, I just went guns hot on it, and then KAPUT, CTD. PAC on and everything was sweet, the second i squeezed off the cannon though, blamo... Still, its much more playable than it was before. So I am happy. At least now we can refuel without worrying, and watch those nice animations of CBUs :) PS: As for WOLF, from what I understood was that he hears the gun firing from his cockpit, and then he hears the impacts of the rounds in the cockpit, which is, indeed, weird.
  16. Great patch, however, now i am getting random CTD's in random spots. I have gotten some CTD's when i press my guns button down on a target, like PAC down and all is well, then full trigger down, then blamo, CTD. But the more common CTD is when i was looking at my CBU12 hit down on a target in f6 mode, as soon as it hit a ship, CTD. Kind of similar to the CBU bug of last patch. Other than that, it seems to be pretty good, though the master caution at the beginning of start up is pretty annoying lol.
  17. ....and make it that much harder to dodge any missiles lol. Well, in head on i have had to use minimal manouvering to get away from it, for example in this video i made, skip to 4:17 and you will see i barely moved and it missed with ease, though it was a shoulder fired AA LdN31Ryp1A0&list=UU7lK8qHqm21bv2jW6TKdNKA&feature=plcp
  18. Wait, so can anybody enlighten me as to the accuracy and range of the GAU? When playing the mission pilot search, i fired my gun at a flock of infantry at just over 2nm, and no hits what so ever. The second i squeezed off at just under 2nm, i was getting hits. With light armor i feel easy firing at 1 to 1.5nm and killing stuff. At tanks assuming you are hitting them from behind, its supposedly 0.7nm, but in my experience you would need to hold down the trigger for a bit to kill it, so instead i wait until 0.5nm and its a half second burst to kill.
  19. Wess, the trick is to put the missle on your 3/9 line, (3 or 9 oclock) So lets say you are flying such that the missile is on ur 3, break a bit more to the right to make it turn more, then turn to the left sharply to try and put it to the 9 position. Little turns on the 3 position because what you want to do is wait for the burner to run out. Two turns like that and they miss at medium to long range. Close range... I have yet to divise a strategy against them... Big chance if you do it head on, but if they fire at you from any other angle... your pretty much screwed, especially if they fire RIGHt below you. There is like NO ESCAPE from that... I must have tried everything to no avail.
  20. Yeah anybody else noticed how the APCs in this game are DEAD ON ACCURATE and cause you die more than any of the actual Anti Air craft guns like Shilkas or Zeuses that is DESIGNEd for that specific purpose? I literally laugh when I have to resort to gunning down a shilka, but shit my pants if its a BMP.
  21. There is a thing called an OFFSET that you can use on the CDU for the BULLSEYE call that give you an exact measure of what they are talking about, and as far as I am concerned it has worked for me perfectly. The accuracy is not as good as a DATA sent by JTAC but it does get you in the ballpark. So not sure here, but no problems on my side.
  22. Did not go as smoothely as planned... ended up landing with 13 pounds of fuel left hahaha
  23. To be honest, i usually fly 100% until I get to my desired altitiude, then as I approach my point of attack, i slow down to 80% for a few reasons. 1. You find targets easier from a bit further back, where your TGP has a nicer wider field of view, so you can plan out your attack better. 2. Allows you to get into a flight pattern around the AO and not speed around it in 300knots, especially if you are trying to focus on one target and you need your head in the pit to do some stuff on the TAD or DSMS or whatever, that way by the time you are ready, you dont overshoot the area. 3. Saves fuel If you are operating at less than 10 thousand feet then you might feel the need to fly at full speed, but honestly when you go above 15 thousand, to like 20 thousand, there is no point to it, you will fly roughly 200 knots and cruise around, and be slow enough where you have the time of the world to do whatever you want up there. So yeah, on low altitude missions, go full throttle, on high altitude ones, go full throttle till you get near it, then slow down a bit and appreciate life on the slow lane. Maybe read a book or a poem or something lol.
  24. Who needs a perfect trim for that. Autopilot is there for that. i trim the living crap out of my A-10 after each release so that it is nice and stable, but the plane will change itself as you lose fuel and increase speed as a result, which you will need to trim more to correct for it, not to mention the dynamic weather that might require you to trim for that too. There is no real reason to try and make your aircraft too perefectly trimmed because of autopilot. Believe it or not, I fly only 40% of the time by myself, the rest is usually autopilot as I switch between different modes of autopilot like path, alt, or path/alt. It makes life so much easier where you can spend most of your time with your head in the pit and not worry about where your plane is baking or if your trim is set 100% right.
  25. Engines work fine until you exceed 450 knots. Im pretty sure he cannot be doing 450 knots with engines idle. It took me a 90 degree dive angle with full engines to achieve that kind of speed when I stalled out from overspeed.
