Yeah, after a while we sort of got it. We were basically just screwing around a lot, but it was definitely cool to see this mission, it was more laid back and still fun at the same time. Experience was having trouble seeing targets because it was still not dark enough to use the NVGs, but if it were at night, we would have used the IR to point stuff out for each other. We love using that stuff. MOAR COOL MISSIONS!!! :)

Since I make a lot of videos for fun, I think it will be productive to just make one single thread here where I will post and update my videos for anyone interested in them. I have quite a few of them out on my youtube channel which I will post later on here. For now, here is my latest. Jack Sparrow, in search of the black pearl :megalol: XxRkiB_8ObA

BOOYAKAHSA!! Thanks!

i miss my clickity clackity sounds... It brought weird pleasure to my funny parts.

After the new patch I lost all in cockpit sounds of switches... I uninstalled and installed the game again without the patch, full installation, and still same problem... wtf?

Graphic settings suggestions for Nvidia please?
ralfidude replied to Jimmytime's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
i was wondering that too.... i maxed everything out, and I'm still seeing SS that are not consistent with what I'm seeing... :( -
Flying at 20 degree nose pitch to keep one's self from stalling just to cruise. Haaahahha. Kidding.

EMB-314 SUper Tocano Could be the BEST solution to a flying legend of aircraft. Its on board computers are similar to the A-10s systems. Short and sweet, but to the point: ED, can we has dis please? Lol. Imagine, one of these flying side by side of the A-10s?

After patches we have to do everything different
ralfidude replied to vortex360's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That would make him forget even more, then he really will need the manual. -
There was a thread somewhere where somebody found a file called P-41d or something close to that. Its an old WWII plane. One person that works or used to work for ED replied to a comment about that file with "Ah, so you finally found it" That, ladies and gentleman is your legend aircraft for DCS. You can still keep guessing about the JET DCS aircraft. I am MUCH MORE interested in figuring out which one that is. Fingers crossed for F15 or F-16.

10 seconds if you sustain inverted level flight.... I was going to do a top gun moment of flying upside down, on top of my wingman and wave hello. But as soon as you fly inverted, the nose starts to drop towards the ground, to which you respond by pushing the stick forward, which causes even more negative Gs. Lets just say it took about 3 seconds before everything shut down, and I was too low to restart... My spine had a wonderful time with the ejector seat boosters... :(

Is there anyway to keep hud symbology inside a rocket/gun piper?
ralfidude replied to tyrspawn's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not really. Not that I am aware of. There is however a small workaround. Use the Master Mode button to turn your systems to GUNS. Then with the HUD as SOI, press DMS right short to switch between the gun pippers. Instead of using the big circle that takes up so much space, I usually switch to the next pipper, which is the cross with the range number next to it. It's small and will let you see the marker until the pipper is right on top of it. Besides, it is NOT advisable to be flying right on target with the pipper right over your target for a very long time. It lets the enemy armor get their guns zeroed in on you as you come in. The best approach is to turn into the target, so that the moment you are turned upright and facing the target, you are just about ready to shoot. This enables you to see the target marker on the HUD until the moment you fire which will be the moment where the gun pipper is looking right at the target obscuring it. PLUS, it will leave you at a slight advantage because of the slow turning turrets of the enemies that are still turning to zero in on you. You can avoid taking fire altogether. -
Eddie, would you mind sharing the custom load out file you have with us here? :) It would be most amazing if you did.

Patch 1.1.1.0 for DCS: A-10C Warthog (English) Released
ralfidude replied to pvtkramer's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Patch screwed up... files were corrupted... now I have no in game cockpit sounds... goddamn it... Now to download the full game... ugh... -
The CBU HOF is a known overlooked boo boo. By next patch hopefully they will fix it from default 500 to something like 1800. Also, Ranger, I set my TM warthog to no dead zones, and a curvature of 30 in pitch and roll, then almost 40 for rudders to make my gunning picture perfect. Try that, you will love formation flying with that sensitivity.

Its fun to land a damaged aircraft, like I did here. I do note i screwed up with pulling emergency break with wrong hydraulics failure, AND i crossed into my AI's path, but I really thought they are a bit more attentive.... Still learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2E8o25mhd2U Or like i did here in about 5:30 I get hit, and manage to land the beast at the end.

If you get hit when you are low, just eject, if you get hit at medium to high altitude, then do as these guys say.

Thrustmaster warthog throttle
ralfidude replied to jazjar's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It is a known problem that the throttle dies. Something wrong with the motherboard. MANY many many customers had to get their replaced, including mine. Once you go through the emails with thrustmaster, they will tell you to ship it to them and it will be shipped back to you. No problems with it so far after it came back... so far... -

Escort/Non-Hostile Intercept
ralfidude replied to AngelAtTheTomb's topic in User Created Missions General
What if you make then enemy but give them zero weapons and guns? Not sure how they will behave in that situation. -
Haha, well for one, the Strelas and Tunguskas in operation pilot search was at a maximum engagement altitude of 12 thousand something feet in the description. However, while on the mission, we found that flying just above 15,000 feet, was enough to avoid detection altogether. However, once a mate of mine dropped to exactly 15,000 and he got engaged right away, not sure if by Tunguska or Strela, however both seem to exhibit similar characteristics. I have tested flying low for most SAMS, and I cannot avoid radar detection at all, no matter if I'm licking the floor or not. The only thing that saves me is masked terrain, which I rely upon anyway. PS: Nothing beats flying at over angels 20 with the wind blowing through the canopy and dropping laser guided bombs like Santa dropping presents down chimneys.

JTAC on his period. ALso, you can edit your payload. I never leave with the stock payload as it's never well equipped for some of the insane missions in the campaign. Enter the mission editor and change the payload for your aircraft, you can even create a custom one for yourself. I do a sorted mix between laser guided bombs, 6 mavericks, and some clusters or mk-82s, and perhaps a rocket pod. Enough fire power to take down Godzilla. As far as JTACs problem, I do not know. Wait for someone else to post a possible fix for that.
-
Ok, just making sure. Iv flown some missions where the Altitudes are much lower for maximum engagement, but perhaps the situation was different.
-
Are you sure about the maximum altitude ranges on some of those systems?
