Need recomendations on PC parts

To get decent FPS for this sim, what matters is the frequency speed of the chip. 4Ghz or higher, and you are golden, anything less and you will hit spots of less than 20FPS. I would know... I have a 3GB GTX 580, 12GB or Fast RAM, and 2TB Barracuda XT, with a I-7 960 at 3.2 GHz, and I can hardly break 40 FPS. However there are areas that dip me down to 12FPS. Its sad. Really really sad. All the while I can run all my other games at ultra with over 60FPS, Arma II, Crysis, BF3, etc n so forth. Id be happy with a steady 36FPS. :( Sniff... -
LOL, i posted that somewhere hahah. I want to see an unconventional skin for once, it would be hilarious.

Dropping chaff and flares is done by one button. CMS up. This button tells the counter measure panel system to start the "program". Depending on what program you have selected you will have a different sequence for deployment. Another important thing is what setting did you put the counter measure knob at? Manual is for each press of the CMS up you drop only one chaff and flare if you selected the right program, for SEMI, each time you press CMS up you go through only one cycle of the currently selected program, however the system will choose which program to use based on the threat, and AUTO is everything is hands off, the system automatically chooses program, and deploys and stop it by itself, be ready to lose all countermeasures in matter of seconds in this mode.

3 of my friends and me tried some Dogfighting for the first time ever. I'm not very disciplined with my trigger control.... IH5803qyL-0&list=UU7lK8qHqm21bv2jW6TKdNKA&index=1&feature=plcp

Any way to move the camera around real quick using the mouse?

Ehem... or... ehem... a TRACKIR... cough cough... -
It kinda should.

I keep a pen and paper handy when flying. I actually removed my mouse pad, and replaced it with printing paper, scotch taped to the desk. I write all my coords there as soon as they pop up, then enter them in the CDU with ease without having to worry. Scratch it off when done to make sure you arent over writing things. It looks exactly like this:

Yeah, you do not want to destroy any ships. There is a bug where if you kill one, it will CTD you immediately. Will be fixed for next patch, i hope...
-
Try it, set up a target, then set up a whole heap of infantry behind the target. You can visually see the ricochet rounds impacting, they go pretty far.
-
Just dont do it in the current version, or you will CTD...

Kinda reminds me of when I sat my friend down for the game for the very first time:

The biggest mistake you can make whilst looking for a target with the TGP, is doing it right up close and personal. You will see jack shit. Go out of the AO for about 10nm, to 15nm, and circle around it, while searching for targets with the TGP. You will see MUCH MORE on the screen, and whenever you "think" you see something, instead of pressing DMS up to zoom in, just hit the china hat forward short to zoom right in, and press it again to zoom right out if its a fake. Also, you showed a winter scenery. That's a problem, the TGP sucks balls in winter with identifying targets, even if you switch between whot and bhot, so you really need to focus on that. The problem lies with the ground and it appears to be all camoflauged essentially, so you can be looking at a big hot target but you wont see it because of the ground its on, overlays the same exact color. So practice on all other seasons first, and when you get that down, go for the winter setting, and start to look for that. Remember, 15k and above is your friend! Most common Sams in this game have a range below that. Anything stronger than that, and it doesnt matter what altitude you are at, you will get fired upon, but 15k is a sure way to see targets that might be hiding behind something if you were low, and be sure you can avoid the common sams. And stay the fu*k away until you got something!!!! PS: Another way to do this is have the guys in multiplayer look at you, while you tell them you are going low, look for tracer fire. They will suddenly have lots of targets of opportunity when you fly by hehe. I do it all the time, and most of the time dont get hit, if there are only AAA to worry about.

Different plane, different gauges.

Copy that. As far as the HUD goes. If it's non functional, why is it in the controls page under a keyboard shortcut to begin with? Seems kinda silly to me. You have the switch to night hud, but that's not it either. Maybe in the non simulator mode it works?
-
You sure you are on the right frequency? And are you sure you are not pressing the "\" button? Need to specify Radio FM, AM, or UHF I was looking through the controls page some time ago and I saw a keyboard option to change HUD color. Seems it doesnt work?
-
Well there are missions that have insurgents in them... So... there's that!
-
Well it tells you if you break below the set altitude (default 10K) and past a certain angle, so I think of it as both. Thank you for the ALT alert thing. Im putting together a video of some uncommon and common cool tips for my viewers, and i was looking for that.
-
When you enter coordinates, North and East the Elevation is inputed automatically. Switch the knob to Mission, select the newly created waypoint by cycling to it, and then slave your TGP to it with china long, and presto.

Ah its the last one Fall presented. Has some random good facts, but its great for one of those moments where your head is retarted and you cant remember how to do something. Thank you very much! I swore that one had the bitch betty set up but it doesnt. Does anybody remember how to set minimal altitude warning? Iv also grown into the habit of using TAAF from the TGP whilst doing high alt bomb runs.
-
Nope, but its a good find. It was nothing that formal to be honest. Something close to paulrkiii's guides. It was SUCH A GOOD DOCUMENT. Such random information thrown into like 3 pages, but all of it very awesome and necessary... It's a shame it's lost in the internet abyss... never to be found again...
-
Could anybody link me to a thread of a guy who posted some PDFs about some helpful tips. It was not the tutorial collection, but just realy really random quick things to reference through. I saw it but never saved it. Like I forget where to change the minimal altitude warning from bitch betty... i think its in the IFFCC...
