  1. As in the last mission and friendly competition, I'll be giving away the following softcover book for free. The book is the Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II Pilot's Flight Operations Instructions. It will only be available to those in the continental USA and Canada, because of the cost of shipping. I would like to encourage those from other countries to give it a try. It is a simple mission in that it is you alone. I don't have the expertise at this time to create a mission with JTAC and other aircraft and etc. This friendly competition will be in affect through the last day of April. Prior to that end you will have to submit two screenshots such as the ones shown 1. One screenshot shows how many targets you have destroyed and the time that it took. Make note at this time that your goal is to destroy as many targets as you can with the load of ordinance included in the mission. If there is a tie ( that is two players destroyed 23 targets each- then the one with the quickest time will be the winner). If per chance that the time is tied (unlikely) I will flip a coin or something like that. 2. The second screenshot will need to show that you landed safely and that the mission ended. See screenshot. There are 29 targets. Disregard the start time on the screenshot attached. The final mission starts at 1930 hours so we have a little setting sun. Check the mission planner for additional information and have fun. Do send in a screenshot now and then. Also-- you are authorized to use labels in this mission.. It's going to be hard enough without them. If you have trouble taking a screenshot your mission end- check out the free Snapper freeware or other screenshot programs. Snapper is: http://www.michielovertoom.com/software/snapper/ MakeSomeFire.miz
  2. Thanks, I'll give that a try
  3. my problem is when i have shut down engines to re arm and refuel, I an unable to start them again. They start spooling up but never get revved up. My fuel is on; apu and etc. Any ideas?
  4. Great stuff. Thanks for the contribution. Another rep inbound from here.
  5. Just finished flying the night flares and tanks. Fabulous. I've never shot off a flare before (though I 've done some in real life and found this one will be repeated. I took out these tanks on my first pass. Lucky for me as my 2nd one was not nearly as good. PS The book is on its way to you
  6. A real nice mix, Threshor. I'll be trying some of those. Especially looking at the night flares and tanks. Thank you
  7. This has probably been posted before but if it had, its been a while. Almost every aircraft in the world that was ever built (supposedly) is here: http://www.aviastar.org/index2.html
  8. Threshor- you'll have the book coming your way. Send me a PM with your mailing address and I will get it in the mail to you on Monday. Wish more would have been involved. I'll be trying this once again as I would rather share a book with someone than throw it away. Thanks.
  9. Thats a very good time Threshor. Good luck and thanks for participating.
  10. Thanks, wondering if I saw some Harpoons launched also. I'll have to try that mission again.
  11. A little bit Navy A couple of shots from a naval engagement off the coast
  12. If you check individual posts about the messages you will find that some have been updated and verified as to working. I've flown a number of them, that are just fine but you'll have to have a look see and decide which ones appeal to you
  13. Just a reminder for those that have missed this. Only 5 days left. When I can build another mission I will be something similar in which the book "Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II Pilot Flight Operating Instructions (A-10A-1) will be the prize.
  14. Thanks leafer and CarneyUK, i saw that later when attempting to join another mission but for some reason couldn't connect on my end. It wasn't password protected so only assuming my connection was "fouled"
  15. Thank you for taking the time to update and a special thanks for the single player
  16. I tried online for the first time today. No go. Don't remember what server it was or who had put it up. There was no password. Each time I tried to join, all i saw was a damn tanker and an Awacs in the area. It appeared to be a free flight to me as there was no mission specified. First time- A No go. will try again but with COD coming on the horizon it will take all of my spare time to share between these two sims. And hell- I am retired.
  17. I haven't been online but very likely under users/yourname/saved games/missions? That the area under where any user made missions are now stored.
  18. You would put them into the mission file area designated. If and when you make your own mission they will be saved under your users/saved games/missions from what I recently found
  19. Wondering if there are any other real life A-10 missions out there other than a few vague ones that I saw in the book (I no longer have) about the A-10 (it was not the A-10C of course) in Iraq. I've searched the internet and didn't expect to find anything but it would be interesting to see more. And I doubt it would have much to do with national security issues any longer.. At least I would think not. Just some thoughts. I thoroughly enjoyed this one
  20. Only wish I would have is that it would be for single player.. But sometimes that is not practical. Maybe it will work to some degree for single player.
  21. Yes, he is Back. Just flew a couple of JTAC practice missions and SP Hwg Hunt 3. Sweet as usual.
  22. Every Airplane That Was Ever Built: Or Most Every plane: This may have been here before but a search did not find. Onoe of the best aviation sites around. Shows just about every aircraft ever designed and flown by countries. Absolutely extensive. http://www.aviastar.org/index2.html
  23. Good to have you around. Many of us have been with it from the very start- and we learn something every day. The best bet is to follow the traning- your tutorials that you will find on You Tube (GREAT HELP) and - postings on the forums.
  24. Thank you sir for sharing this guide.
