I have no idea why that last photo is there, but ignore it.

Hey All, Sometimes I can be amazed at what can trip me up. So I will try to describe what happens to me and I am hoping that someone can help me out. Settings at Start: Now the TADS is the sight: By using: GHS selected as Acquisition Source: OK This makes me happy! But sometimes, for a reason that I do not understand. This process simply will not work. This problem comes along it seems at night, when I would be using NVS. I can't get the Sight to be TADS nor be able to select GHS for the Acquisition Source. The system just locks up: No matter what I try I cannot get it to work correctly. Thanks in advance, Caldera

Thanks Guys! You answers created a bit of a "Ah-Hmm" moment. Caldera

Hey All, It has been a few months since I flew the Apache and I am just getting back into it. I noticed that the TEDAC display is different. I notice a large black void area at the bottom of the display. Is this part of a version change or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
Caldera replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hey All, Just started flying the A-4E and love it. Where would I post bug issues? With the TACAN in REC or T/R trying to increase the channel past 90 (tens) will cause DCS to crash. Caldera -
Aircraft ghost / white out - In the ME load out screen
Caldera posted a topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Hey All, I have seen this several times. I need to restart the game to fix. Caldera -
NineLine, Thanks for paying attention, I greatly appreciate it. Caldera

Thanks Guys! I am a rock head, but I got it now. These BTR's are in a continuous loop. (Lost my second monitor) Jay, I have noticed the grey cross hairs for some time now (pre-2.8). I had already posted some pictures in that regard. Caldera

Elphaba, Thanks for your help, I think I got it. I never knew this: Works fine now. Caldera

NineLine, Yes, from what I can see there is no difference between day and night on the MAV screen. That is the point I was trying to make. None of the IR targets vehicles highlight to the back ground any differently day or night. Nor does the landscape colors changed. I had thought this should be different. Which from your comment, you would consider to be correct. For me at least, the AGM-65D has become essentially a blind fire and forget weapon, partly because the gate and the cross hairs blend in so close to the same color as the targets, which is so very close to the background color. The targets themselves do not high light well or provide any easily usable definition against the back ground. Switching to black hot or white hot does not really help. Since the target vehicle or the back ground color does not change anyways. At least you can see the cross hairs with no strain, but a new Maverick always returns to the default spectrum. My apologies, that seems more like a work around. Even when the TGP does show some IR detail on a vehicle, it seems to be absent from the MAV screen. But you can use the weapon at night... I remember well, this was not the case in previous game revisions. From memory, the additions of much better clouds changed allot in this regard. Maybe it was completely all wrong then? Thanks for taking the time, TheGhost, OK Fair enough. The "COLD AT START" is unchecked in the ME and the vehicles have moved. How far should they move to provide IR distinction? Caldera
-
All, OK Fair enough, I am a self taught sim pilot which I realize can generate misconceptions. However, take a look at the pictures below. Explain the difference between day and night (no moon). Day Night Caldera

Elphaba, I am adding them all at once. Right near the top trigger list in the ME. I am even noticing that the order can change just from one mission load to the next / shuffle them at will. Caldera

Hey All, Practicing a little force correlate this morning. I notice how big the difference is between the MAV screen using the AGM-65H vs the AGM-65D. Take a look. This is the AGM-65H just before firing This is the AG-65D at about the same distance This is the AGM-65D just before firing As you can see, the AGM-65D picture quality is worse at all times compared to the AGM-65H. The cross hairs are extremely washed out and you can barely see them. Where the cross hairs of the AGM-65H are bright white and can easily be seen. Even the target clarity is way better for the AGM-65H. Another sad thing to notice is that the closer one gets to the target the worse the target clarity gets. As you can see the target has all but vanished in the bottom pictures. I am hoping this gets improved at some point by ED. In the mean time has anyone happened to figure out a work around for this (other than just adjusting the gain con etc...)? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Hey All, I am messing the F-10 Radio Menu's for the first time. I notice that no matter the order that I arrange them in the ME trigger list that the ME sorts them differently / randomly. For Example: (F=flag V=value) These lines are arranged in this order on the trigger list. F1 V1 = Ground Targets F1 V2 = Air Defense F1 V3 = Aircraft Rotary F1 V4 = Aircraft Easy F1 V5 = Aircraft Medium F1 V6 = Aircraft Hard The in game F-10 menu display sorts them as: F1 = Aircraft Easy F2 = Aircraft Medium F3 = Aircraft Hard F4 = Ground Targets F5 = Air Defense F6 = Aircraft Rotary Any solution out there for controlling the order of the F10 display? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Nahen, Yes, thanks I pretty much had the idea of most of what you say. But, I was hoping for a solution to being able to place the "multifunctional" display (left bottom) on my second monitor so that I could see it better. Currently only the radar display is there and I would like to have both if possible. Attached is the current Monitor Set-up that I am using. Caldera A-10C CENTER+MFDs.lua

Hey All, With the possible introduction of the F-15EX I have purchased the F-15C for fun and games. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on my part about the actual naming conventions. I have noticed that the radar display works on my second monitor, the lua configuration in use currently is from the A-10C II. The radar display is in the same place on the second monitor as the left MFCD would be on the A-10C. It is identical in size. Does anyone know how to get the stores display on the second monitor in similar fashion? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Hobel, Ah Oops Sorry! Yes, what you said is correct. All, Take a look at the TacView photos, there is certainly interval between Mavericks. That does not seem as important as the spacing between targets. All that said it does not happen 100% of the time. Caldera
-
Jay, Thanks! I will check to see if that is the default value. I am pretty sure that it used to be. Hobel, No not really, this is something new and different. I mean it looks like one AGM-65D is destroying another. Watch the track again and notice that after my first salvo hits their will be a kill message that says something like "AGM-64D". This means that somehow I have killed one of my own Mavericks. That is how I noticed the first time that something was different. Caldera
-
Hobel, Yes I do know how to make a track. I was referring to Jay and turning on the SA-19's. This attack seems a bit more shaky, I was nervous. Go figure... The track file is attached. You can see the SA-19's shooting at me, because I was slow in my sequence of the first four Mavericks. Caldera A-10C MAV 01.trk

Jay, Hmm.. Something else new then. How do I turn it on in the Mission Editor? I never had to do that before. Caldera
-
So... Another attack, but with the same result. Clearly there is spacing between the Mavericks as shown in the upper screen shot. The lower shows both missiles hitting their target. In the AAR the same result. Grison-1-3 was not destroyed and the Maverick bound for it was destroyed by the other Maverick. The above screen shot just shows the spacing of the first for Mavericks shot. Caldera
-
Hey All, Just more of the same... This AAR is broken into two sections due to the length. The first 4 shots were on targets had more spread between them. The last two shots the targets were adjacent. Where one (5th) was shot at Grison-1-5 and one (6th) was shot at Grison-1-6. Grison-1-5 and the 6th Maverick were killed by the 5th Maverick. There were 6 shots and only 5 kills. The difference in the AAR is seems to be determined by whether the TGP is used as SPI or the Maverick is simply slewed onto the target. Notice shot 1 is TGP, 2-4 are slewed then 5 and 6 are TGP. This is how I performed the attack. This something definitely new. Suppose it is intentional or a bug? As a side note, I have noticed that the SA-19 is no longer shooting down Mavericks. How long is that been going on for? Caldera
-
Hey All, So this really is a "Thing" now. As you can see 3 Mavericks shot at 3 different targets and only 2 targets were killed. In this case it looks like the 1st Maverick flew to the target, however the 3rd Maverick took out the second. And this time the SA-19 was given credit for the kill. I can't fully understand what happened. TacView simply shows the Maverick missed TRUCK-1-3. I have attached the TacView file. Caldera Tacview-20221118-100937-DCS-TRN 002 A-10C SA-9 SA-19.zip.acmi

Coole, Thanks! This kind of the affirmation that I was looking for. As I think back when firing the AGM-65L, after firing the first and waiting to fire the second the TOF counter never changes between shots. It simply continues to count down. So even with a substantial delay in the firing of the second missile the TOF is exactly as it would be if I were firing the first. I also notice this same effect with laser rockets. My guess that up till now at least concerning the AGM-65D, that the spread of my targets had been great enough the above result had never happened or I had never noticed it happening. Still wondering however for real world physics if is this accurate. Anyone know? Not making sense to me... Caldera
