Hey All, I notice that the TPOD in the F-15E picture quality is really blurry with a lack of allot of detail even at max zoom. Granted, I am used to like sensors in the A-10C and the AH-64D which are excellent. But... The one in the current version of the F-15E is pretty awful by comparison. So my question is if this is true to the actual or an EA thingy? Caldera

Hey All, I would wish that there was a PDL pop-up for boom refueling much like the FLOLS for carrier landings. And, I guess for the same reason that the FLOLS pop-up currently exists in game. Caldera

From the manual page 433. 13.2 AIR TO GROUND WEAPONS DCS F-15E in Early Access is capable of using almost all of the types of dumb bombs and laser-guided munitions. Other types, such as AGM-65 Maverick, AGM-130 as well as JDAMs will be available at the later stage. YMMV Caldera

Hey All, Does anyone happen to have or point me to a fuel system piping diagram? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Well, sorry guys. It seems that I have gotten behind the times with this topic. Someone changed the title on me... I have tried to replicate the location of the original photo. Original: Today: The lighting effects have change dramatically. I am currently running beta 2.8.7.42718 with the same mods in both photos. Caldera

Another example, when I first noticed the effect. This is Incirlik.

As a work around I have learned to shoot only at low G's and to just aim high, letting the tracers arc in. I am used to the A-10, and it does not use tracers, so the TOF for the bullets seems really long to me. But, I am adapting. Caldera

Hey All, I have found that the front UFC is difficult to read during the day with the visor down. The lettering just gets really dark and relatively hard to make out. The rear UFC is another story... If the sun angle is just right, it is down right impossible to read anything. I find myself putting my head or hand over it so that I can make out the lettering as if I could actually shade the panel. But, then I have a laugh with myself realizing that my head or hand are not really in the WSO seat at all. Anyone else? Caldera

Hey All, This might be a repeat, but has anyone noticed that when you designate with the TPod that the designate crosshair jumps to the right? I was just wondering if this is working as intended or EA glitch. This was on the Caucasus map. Caldera

Seems Razbam has adjusted the gain...

Hey All, I can't seem to get the WSO controller binds to work. Initially I tried modifiers for the left and right hand controllers and it didn't work. Then I tried no modifiers and that didn't work either. I am talking about TDC slew, the coolie and the castle switch. In "Adjust Controls" they all work as intended, but in game nothing seems to work. Any help is appreciated. Is there an animation for the buttons on the left and right controllers? I have never seen any at all. Thanks in advance, Caldera

Hey All, I am having problems with alignment as well. Typically, stuff like: GC HOLD, GC NAV DEGR, GC PP REQ, GC NO TAXI (And typically with no rhyme or reason to them, at least that I can figure out.) I wait to start the alignment until both engines are running at idle and the parking brake switch is set to on. The alignment will go through the whole process of GC NO TAXI --> countdown --> then return to GC NO TAXI where it locks up and will not progress to GC OK. I have to keep switching the INS alignment switch to off, waiting a bit of time and then restarting the alignment over and over again until it finally seems to work. To check that my procedure was correct, today I ran the training lesson again. I followed the entire lesson faithfully and guess what happened during the alignment part? GC NO TAXI --> countdown --> GC NO TAXI --> lock up Baffling to me. Any others experiencing anything like this behavior? Caldera

Would you try loading 100% fuel from the ME and then de-fueling to about 50% using the crew chief? Just to see if it is the same for you as it is for me. Caldera

Hey all, The F-15E AAR is giving me fits. Mostly it is the viewpoint of the pilot, because the canopy bow seems purposely placed to be precisely in the way. I have also noticed that the jet likes to porpoise in the vertical axis at refueling speeds which doesn't help either. For the Pilot not so easy For the WSO easy peasy The pictures above are using about the same zoom. The pilot's head and the WSO's head are both at the default position. I have tried moving the pilot's head position (using the seat adjustment) to the maximum up or down positions and both can help. But... The dang canopy bow always seems to get in the way somehow and block the view of the indexer at a critical time. Couple of questions as I am sure this problem is accurate (not realistic): How is everyone else dealing with this? How accurate (not realistic) is it for the pilot to have to move his seat up or down (allot)? Thanks in advance, Caldera

LOL I guess some are more relaxed about it. As I am sitting in at my desk not strapped in to the chair in any way (gravity works just fine in all cases), with my toy flight controls in front of me, staring at my large 2d computer screen, sipping on a cold beer while looking for the correct key to press on my PC keyboard while wearing my trackIR ball cap with out any type of ear noise protection (much less noise cancelling). And I am often reminded that is not actually where I am at the moment. Where in reality I am at 23000 feet, 500 knots, 4.5g in a 15 degree left hand turn and a 30 degree down angle looking through the HUD watching the ground as it is coming up to say "Hello There!". One could argue for a long time about realism in video games... For my part, I just noticed that the ECS noise in the F-15E module was noticeably louder than any flight sim that I had played before. Mostly because I also noticed that for at least one of the F-15E (Radar AA) training flights that the ECS switch is in Manual vice Auto, which sort of clued me in. Up until then I had thought it was mostly engine noise, as initially I was some what overwhelmed by the whole experience. Caldera

The enemy flight consists of 12 BF-109 and 48 JU-88, but all the down pilots are BF-109.

Yes, I just tested it. Moving the bingo pointer to total fuel brings in the warning. For my part, I only need to hear the warning a couple of times, does the actual jet continuously give this warning until the pilot ejects due to insanity? Caldera
-
OK Thanks! Miss Betty going crazy with 10.9 total fuel. But stops when fuel in "INTL TANK" gets above about 2.2 transferring from "CONF TANK". So if I understand you correctly, the Fuel Warning Low warning is set by the bingo pointer and should be activate based upon total fuel quantity? Caldera
-
OK Thanks! I have much to learn... Double ear protection would reduce the sound level by about 30-50 dB? That is allot. Typically single protection up to 85 dB and double protection for more than that depends on exposure time. That is one loud A/C unit. Caldera

Hey All, This alarm comes off main tank level? I may go insane, Miss Betty will not be quiet! I am starting to understand that fuel is transferred from other tanks into the main tank, but in the mean time Miss Betty has a kaniption (goes crazy) and will not stop repeating "WARNING FUEL LOW". BTW her speech annunciation is absolutely perfect. For example, having the crew chief de-fuel from 100% to 60% seems to empty the main fuel tank and trigger the warning Miss Betty so tirelessly delivers. She stops when level in the main fuel tank is sufficient. The bingo fuel pointer is set at zero the whole time so I am not quite understanding the logic of the warning. What am I doing wrong? Caldera

Draconis, Could they implement a system to tone down the noise a bit, realistic or not, it is very annoying. The noise seems to overdrive all the other cool sounds in the cockpit. It should be heard yes, but not the only thing that is heard. The closest I have ever been to being in an F-15 cockpit is standing on a portable stair. So really what do I know... Is it realistic for the ECS to be first turned on and then later (due to annoying loud noise) turned off for the cockpit to become almost sound proof? Caldera
-
Hey all, In my game the sound of the ECS is also really loud and annoying. I had thought that at first that this was the loudest jet (in DCS) that I had been in. Because it sounds like a jet engine running. I kept turning game volume lower and lower to get rid of the noise. Then I discovered that the noise was the Air Condition blowing air into the cockpit. I noticed this by turning off the ECS and the noise went away. Hooray!!! Then I discovered that just about every other noise in the jet went away as well. Now it seemed that I was in the quietest jet (in DCS) that I had been in. Well, except for Miss Betty who narrates warnings with great authority. At this point I can only hear the engines with the canopy open. Boo!!! Anyone else noticed this sound behavior? Caldera
